I just keep watching Gemma. The strength to do this just astounds me. I'm proud to walk a flight of stairs without falling; and to see someone do this... I think I'm in love. Certainly I am in awe.
One other reason this is so awesome: Up in the air you can do anything. You can literally fill all that space above the water with any stunts and skills you want.
Totally awestruck watching this young lady do incredible tricks that were unheard of not so many years ago. I have a question about the water supply hose from the jet ski. How does it not kink up during her loops?
+Ronnieinbama Gemma is awesome for sure. Thanks for your comment and question. The hose is attached to a 180 degree re-directional U-Pipe coming off the output of the ski so the hose is aimed forward and attached the front of the jet ski to allow the rider to pull it easily around. Kinking the hose when doing many big tricks in a row is possible but the loops don't tend to kink due to the water pressure inside. Very recently Zapata Racing announced the release of a dual swivel to solve the hose kinking completely. More info coming soon on that piece of equipment. - Blaine
+Ronnieinbama I had my dad 65 yrs old go Flyboarding last summer and because the thrust is controlled by your certified instructor it can be a very gentle experience. All he had to do was keep his legs straight and balance and he was up 3 ft above the water puttering around and loving it. - Blaine
+Librariam yes there is music playing while the competitors fly but it is only in the finals that the judges take into consideration choreography to the athletes choice of music. Thanks for checking out our channel. - Blaine
Always reminds me of the Battle Angel Alita Manga where at some point Alita fought against Nova's Assistant Elay who used a Water Converter to shoot water at thousands of bar against her opponents cutting through most objects in it's path like a hot knife through butter - Until it's structural integrity was compromised from a blade cut and it tore itself and Elay apart.
@@FlyboardMagazineCA wow thank you very much I did not know that I would get an answer haha but you have all the reason first of all a good professional and safety first of all if I get to travel there is the first thing I'll do
i really want to get into this. what board & set up should i get?? I have the 215 hp super charged seado wake. Trying to decide between zappata, xboard and watta board.
Thanks for your question and for checking out our channel. I could tell you my opinion but since I haven't flown all the boards I'll connect you with a friend of mine who has. Drop your question in here to Mike Prince. I'm sure he'll give you the pros/cons of each option out there: www.canadianjetpackadventures.com/locations/kelowna/ Good Luck! Blaine
Hi Mathew, thanks for checking out our channel. There are two ways to enjoy Hydroflight. 1) Is how Gemma is flying in this video where she is using a remote throttle control to adjust the power that the Jet Ski is putting out. All of the thrust of the ski is channeled down the hose so the ski is only being pulled around by the rider. This is for more advanced riders. 2) Recreational riders have a certified instructor sitting on the Jet Ski who is manually controlling the skis power and ensuring a safe, fun ride. If you get a chance to fly you should try it... soooo fun! - Cheers, Blaine
+Scott Kvitberg You gotta live close to a location where you can fly one of those things (usually a vacation resort). And probably know some of the staff so you can fly for free, because it's expansive as hell. And it takes quite a while just to learn the basics.
Hi Swann, most Hydroflight athletes buy Ronix Wakeboard Boots that they like and fly with them but you should check with the manufacturers (Zapata, XJets...etc) for more details. Cheers,
