Idk I think they will probably aim to release it alongside MSFS 2024. And it looks really close to being finished. Maybe just some minor polishing and a couple Liveries.
Still looks like they are blowing away that group that is working on the A220 though. This vid has actually operating footage of it taxiing, flying and exterior model. Meanwhile that A220 was announced back in 2021 and we haven't seen any of that. Even the 757 that is being developed looks further along than the A220. Also if FBW can release the A380 before Flightsim Labs releases anything in MSFS then that is commendable because as you said they are simply volunteers... (but somehow still working faster than even payware devs lol)
You guys are awesome, I really appreciate all you've given to the FS community. Makes a huge difference in immersion, your traffic alone is great & I love A320 also. Looking forward to you're A380 whenever that happens, but I know it will be worth the wait great !
They are doing this in their free time and the A380 is completely free which makes it a non profit project you should instead thank them for it and donate if possible

Yeah they totally dismissed this question. I highly doubt they will have anywhere close to the amount of time compression support PMDG has with their 777. I can run 8x time compression and the plane flies perfectly. I also doubt they will add pause at TOD.

@@McAero08 no i definitely understand and fly using all aircraft systems however I do not have 13 hours in a day to sit at a computer. Proper time compression is becoming a valuable tool for simmers to fly real world routes in the time that they have to dedicate

It's the GPL license I think, which allows commercial use. However, the caveat is that if you use GPL licenced code in your product, you will need to share the source code of your entire project to the end user under the same license, and they are free to distribute the product and source code as long as they retain the GPL licensing. Obviously this is not ideal for distributing a payware aircraft
@@CactusBravo42 Yeah licenses are a huge rabbit hole. Basically, if you wanna open source your code, use the GPL or AGPL license if you want to ensure your product remains free and open source. Use MIT, Apache or BSD if you don't care about that
Awesome stuff! Maybe FBW should reconsider making this a free addon, and get paid for their hard work. I wouldn't mind forking out some cash for this at all! especially if that means they can dedicate more time to the development and the completion of this and other planes :)
I disagree unless they started properly scheduling staff and meet deadlines. Currently they are just doing things whenever they want which means this will likely be pushed to 2025.
@@freewayfive7142 Exactly, so it would be beneficial if they could give up their dayjob and dedicate all their time to making MSFS planes. The A380 wil probably be in even higher demand than the 777, so I imagine they could make a good bit of money out of it, as well as being able to release it sooner. I'd be all for it
@@payt01 agreed, an 70-80$ price would be well worth it so long as it’s near the same level of pmdg which I don’t think the current version will be. It will be similar to the 320 being not as good as fenix
@@neth77which a350 isnt going too be freeware anymore? I only know about two A350, the dfd and the one by ini. Ini will most likely be payware but dfd always stated to make it freeware. Shouldnt have changed, cause the dfd one will use code from fbw (fmsv2 i.e.).
I'm sorry I just flew the A320 Neo and perhaps it's an issue with the latest EXPERIMENTAL version, but there's an issue with the taxi.. the plane would accelerate to 50+ KNOTS while the thrust levers are on idle...
The A320neo, when light, can accelerate quite fast on idle. This was confirmed by real-life pilots as being realistic. On a side note - the experimental version hs been discontinued for a while. Do you perhaps mean development version?
