@@colinsouthern yes of course i get that. in that regard sticking with a lets say a bit higher level of professionalism in radio-communication would be "more polite" to the atcs.
I so enjoy tagging along with you Max. You have taught me so much about aviation. Wish Citation dad would do a brief cameo. Your content is at a high level. Let's go flying!
@@CitationMax Hello captain I from Brasil, please, we have problems to warm the cockpit of CJ3+, the Hot air do not enter to the cockpit, we Just to start slide the temperature to warm after FL300 and above. How do you procedure to stay wjth confortable temperature in the cockpit? Thanks
Hey, those waypoints sound familiar! I've been doing approaches to MRY for instrument training, and it was nice to watch you do the approach! My instructor always cautions me on how close we are to terrain and be vigilant on altitude. Thanks for sharing
I appreciate you inviting us to take the right seat and ride along, but it's getting crowded over here. Someone is going to have to go to the back LOL. Another great video Max. Safe flights.
Max, what was the comment about your speed all about that he needed to say something to you about it? I love the channel and the way you structure the content. Awesome stuff
Nice flight Max. I always look forward to tour videos. You were flying in the area Jerry with the Cessna 414 flys. He flys usually in the SoCal and Oakland area.
You are my Friend 21st century innovation.. They should recommend for Noble prize.. what you doing is benchmark for new and leaner pilot..You rock man!!!!
@@CitationMax When I look at your videos, so much one can learn. Delta just announced they will be hiring 1000 Pilots.. This is just beginning. The tips and education your videos provides young our American Pilots confidence, Situational awareness, managing work load effectively. You make complex thing look easy.. And your landings Man..are picture perfect ( 0 error landings every time).
Great flight. Loved your comment about low and slow. Ha, most of my time was below 1,500 and slow in a 172 covering NJ for Cessna SEL aircraft in the 70's. Those were the days!
Max, great video! I really enjoy seeing the SoCal and NoCal landscapes - I used to live there. When does N2RF receive the Garmin update so that you can do your checklist on the MFD? We would love to see CitationMom back in the right seat. Nice🍪socks!
I see you’re in good company with another, albeit smaller, Citation on the ramp! “He’s a legend”…oh yeah! That jet is a rocket on takeoff…WOW! I learned recently that airspace above FL180 is Class Alpha. Ordered some “original” socks on the descent into Monterey, BOGO, can’t beat that…thanks Max! UPDATE…socks have arrived!
If we make car cabin size twin jets and ultra light, we could fly low and slower for short hops and enjoy the vfr scenery while still being able to go up high and fast. Flying a jet low for the experience would have the advantage of being smooth and quiet, unlike a prop. The ideal is a kind of sleek glider that barely needs engine push to stay aloft but has the stride when necessary. Props should really have been a thing of the past 30 years ago.
I totally agree that it's always nice to change up the scenery from time to time. No matter where you're flying it's always a pleasure to ride along with you Max! Thanks for sharing this video and give Goose a big hug for me please 😁
Beautiful flight. Just flew in and out of Burbank last month, you're right that flying in California has it's own special vibe even though it's so similar to Vegas. Love it there!
the 5 minute limitation should never be an issue in the 2 engine case. However if one engine fails and obstacles are on the departure track, 5 minutes (usually its 10 in single engine case) are required. Thats how the performance vs max T/O power time is calculated.
BUR! My home base when I was a kid, flying a 150 in between the 747-400s where we would land with instructions to hold short of intersecting for departing traffic. Ahhhh the days.
Flown to KMRY many times to attend the Pebble Beach US Open, Have your flown into KTVL South Lake Tahoe? Small FBO, Mountain West good price on 100LL $5.25 and Jet A $4.25 with Tahoe discount card. elevation 6,254 ft runway 8,541 x 100. Located in a valley tapering out to the lake. Close to all major shopping restaurants and casinos on the Nevada side. I have a cherry 2017 182T. The Turbo performs well at 6,254ft even on a hot day. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful Alpine lake well worth the trip. Hope you can check it out some time. :)
I worked in Flight Simulation for 20 years, both military and commercial (F-4, F-16, 737, 757). Learning the aircraft was fairly easy for me, what I found difficult was the radio communication, terminology, and phraseology. You are exceptionally good at it, what's your trick?
Are you your own 135 charter? Or just like me. Got tired of owning to many Pagani's and Ferrari's and got a plane addiction? I flew a B1B for 14 years, then 757s for the airlines. But then got a real job and make some real money and bought a used Citation 550 then upgraded to a Citation Sovereign. Just bougha Beechcraft C90 with the 755hp Pratt and Whitneys on her. Man does that girl move. Wow,it became my touch and go plane and good time cruiser. If ever in Monaco/France give a shout flying the Mediterranean sea along Greece Italy Monaco France Spain and landing in Portugal at magic hour is awesome. I grew up in Aspen ugh... 15/33 hell always landing on 15 because the snobs love their private jetset lives but not around their mansions. Very dangerous I've landed with a 30 knot tailwind gusting to 45 and they do not care. ATC are even snobs there but O got great density altitude training in Colorado. Peace my friend.
Nice to see you flying near by for a change. You passed due west of me as I live near KMOJ Hanford and KNLC NAS Lemoore right in the Central Valley. And you flew right over the Salinas Valley as you were on final to Monterrey. As some one else posted, all this area is considered Central California. I enjoyed the flight as always.
I'm curious: LA told you to contact LA Center on 128.37, and it looks like the Citation's radio autocompleted, instead, to 128.375. Is that true? Am I missing something?
Ahh, my old stomping grounds, KMRY, thanks Max for letting me see it again from the air. 👍🏻 If I knew ahead of time and time allowed, I would have told you to go to Castroville for french fried artichoke hearts at the Giant Artichoke, legendary.
Yes that is true a lot of marine layer hangs off the left coast .. Super good info learning about std altitude above 18k & the different detent modes w/ take off , climb , & cruise & the fact u have to adjust the N1 setting so as not to overspeed I guess like overclocking a uProcessor perhaps Interesting about ur 1100 lbs / he fuel ⛽️ burn at the lower altitudes 260 vs 410 & 450 rarified air conserve fuel heights Yes I’ll check out the mosey Phil flyer
Hello Max fm Oz. Your first landing on to 28L @ Monterey ( sorry I do not have the ICAO abbreviation for the field ) is this anywhere near the geographical area of the Sonoma coast/valley area. Thanks in advance Max. ps The dude that had his arse and fat head. Parked in the L/H seat of the CJ on one of your very excellent productions ( handle of Kev I think ). The leg was fm New York to Tampa about 6 Months ago (Jan or Feb I think ). Mate you are a much better driver than he. Sorry I had to say it as his smart arse retorts to your excellent CRM, IMHO did not work in the environment you created for him. You did not take the high road. You just kept it, for the most part remained very professional. I say for the most part because you kept a sanitised cockpit when the basic rules of CRM applied. Sitting in the L/H seat he did not at all ( use correct CRM ) and let it get in the way of basic a/c operation and flew often out of tolerance and would have perhaps failed a check ride. I say this with out being at all being flippant as his basic aviation skills, I think we’re possibly rather good. I say possibly as his belligerent personality in a two crew operated A/C that was clearly a Single crew A/C. This affected his basic flying skills, would this have interfered with his ability to work as a team in a non standard operation ? I can not say, however his need to operate as a team when there are 2 x brains, 2 x mouths and 2 x sets of arms and legs when required. All I seen was a cluster f*c* just waiting too happen. Anyway I am subscribed please keep the high quality of content coming. Mate your day will come. The opportunity will arrive to move onto heavy metal and you will also move into a flight department where the standards are higher. Also you will not have to work with pernicious dickheads like that pin headed joker. Keep aiming and flying higher mate. Be excellent. 🤙
I recognize that Oakland Center controller's voice. I did my initial flight training at KPAO and flew many trips to the Bay Area after I'd moved out. Brings back good memories.
Yes we’d love to release RF because he’s a legend ! Sorry RF we forgot about you. Just that fast Max. One second your ruling the sky then the forget your contribution to the community. LOL. That was funny and you went with the flow. Love your humor and your awesome channel. Be safe.
Max, I recently discovered your videos and I absolutely love them. My father was a controller at Miami center. He has been dead for two years now on this day. Hearing the controllers makes me think of him and watching your flying and your awesome attitude is helping me cope. Hope all is well.
Love seeing some of my home turf. Been in and out of KBUR countless times, and have driven up and down 101 through Salinas just as much. Thanks for bringing us along. Loved the expedited departure.
Yes , It's two bedrooms BBJ seats up to 35 people , this jet is our Las Vegas Sands BBJ , we have a few of them plus Gulfstreams , a total of 15 in our fleet . I flew with these for the casino high rollers and executives around the world .
Now you're in my neck of the woods. While I'm based in Long Beach, I've been to Burbank and Monterrey many times. If you get back to Southern California, let me know! Nice Piaggio to your left as you taxied on Bravo.
Max, you made my day! Spent Sundays flying out of California Airways in Hayward and fly over the coast, and spent a great dal of time on the coast. Hope you got to see some of the scenery in Monterey and Carmel! Next flight might be to fly over Lake Tahoe and the mountains, and fly over Yosemite. Seeing Half Dome would be recommended. If you ever get the chance to fly into San Luis Obispo, they have a great place to eat right at the airport. Keep sending us more!
