Shout out to the drone footage Tucker. Great to see paramotor and acro from a different viewpoint. Also enjoyed seeing a couple of other folks having a crack at the different wing for opinions. I've only ever seen these speed wings being used on downhill ski slopes and that was only on RU-vid as well. I'd say the longer brake lines are so you can use ski poles at the same time. Just a thought. Keep on mixing up the content. Well done mate.

I fly a Firefly2 regularly... you have to take a wrap on the brakes, it'll put your fingers right at the keepers. You can turn with nothing but weight shifts.

I love hiking and camping, so I would love to see you make a video of you flying to a camp spot for night. O yeah love the drone!

Thanks Tucker! I have often wondered what a speedwing would be like with a paramotor and now I know! Clims and fly's ok but handles like a sloth lol. I was thinking about a (future) Icarus bid. Are you planning to motor with a "much smaller wing" or freeflying speedwing down the hill? I will be watching with baited breath. It may not rock and roll like a stiletto wing but I'll bet it won't collapse In a crosswind as easily.

The idear sounds scary but i think you used a rater larger speed wing maybe somthing around 15m will be more fun and more speed . maybe even that wing with different trim

Given the comments you've made on the wing, it's sort of like losing your power steering. You can still drive, but you're in trouble if you have to turn quickly.

You should try it with a Skywalk Tonic 14 x-Wing... that would be interesting!

looks like a high lift airfoil design. what kind of speed were you getting out of it? Didn't seem terribly fast to me.

This makes me want to get a paramotor soon. I have PERFECT fields to take off and land in. Actually, fields my father and I farm. I can walk outside and take off in our pasture and 3 other huge fields of grass. 250 acres of grass, BUT there are 2 lines of main power line towers that run to major cities and are about 150-180 feet tall. Still plenty of room to land and take off despite there being huge power lines that would instantly fry you if you touched them. Not too bad right? 😆

hey man, avid skydiver/air junkie here. can one survive the progression of going straight to speed wings without getting a P2 and messing with paraglider wings? (fully aware of skydiver attitudes towards safety... within reason)

Those wings are made to go fast and low and not to have so much weight(you and motor) that’s why it’s not turn so well

You ever fly on a quad? I did my first solo a few months back but got pretty terrified getting over 400-500ft. I fly fixed wing planes and dont have a problem but on PPG i'm not sure what my fear is. You think i'd be better off on a quad?

According to Wikipedia you can fly up to 90mph on a speed wing. Is this possible whilst under power??

To me that wing looks unrefined. I guess it is good for windy days but it looks fat and looks to resist slicing through the air, at least to my eye. Hell I think you can fly using a few plastic Shoprite bags, with your skill.
