I recall in the late 70's. Meeting a Gazelle passing to our port side, Huey. He went to a hover, then backwards and kept up with us. It was well above trees, but now our pilot became his eyes for quite a distance.
🚁👍🏼‼️ great clip! Damn, I can’t find the MD Heilicopters - Commercial spot again for the NOTAR Technology where a MD520 N was flying slowly backwards into a tree without crashing to show this genius invention. I saw this years ago on RU-vid & it was so impressive! 🚁👍🏼‼️ If someone of you guys here in the comment section knows the link, pls let me know, thx!
@@KeithPatterson369D gonna be finishing up commercial this term and CFI come spring. I’m from Haines, wondering how often your operation hires new pilots?
@@danielwackerman7749 Good job! Your best bet is flight instructions for a few years then get on at Temsco or Coastal for a few seasons. We only have two aircraft and three pilots! Best of Luck man! Helipilot369@hotmail.com email me anytime!
Really tight quarters. Weren't you afraid you'd stick the tail rotor in the trees? I did a similar landing in Vietnam and had two crewmen on the skids to make sure we didn't back into a tree. While we were working on the landing the VC showed up and shot us down. Great landing on your part. Kudos from someone who can really appreciate what you did.
It was so smooth and predictable!!! Especially in a chase! Yank and bank all day long without hydraulics....trim trim trim .....good luck in your career!
Holy jezzus dude. Respect. Love everything about helos. Can't fly but love watching vids. How many hours is that for that amount of confidence. Respect from Scotland 👍👍
Thanks so much! This is my second year of doing this type of flying! I have taken special training just for confined area work! A few hundred hours of repetitive tight work will hone your skills!
@@KeithPatterson369D .jeez u look so presise.does the weight increase heavily the amount of left peddal. I love the sound of the turbine start. Like m1 abrahms. Have subscribed to follow. The Md looks very nimble...
@@henkeH2 because to counter the torque of main rotor, the more the collective is high the more left pedal you put, if i remember well my X-Plane 10 experience 😁
@@KeithPatterson369D Indeed, we are sir and I pray ALL is well with you.and your family also! However, WE will get through this my brother and GOD BLESS YOU, Amen!🙏🏽😇👌🏾👍🏾❤
That's a long walk home if you fuck that up in the middle of nowhere! No, I'm not coming to get you... We both can be sitting on a log, because I don't have enough helicopter flight time on my xplane simulator!
