Flying backwards in a Cessna 152!

40 knot head winds and a 35 knot stall speed allowed us to start flying backwards over the ground! We took a Cessna 152 from the Purdue University airport (KLAF) up to 9,500' to see if we could complete the negative ground speed challenge. Thanks for watching!

I've done this a few times. back in the day before GPS. I soloed in 1966 when I was 17 years old and had seven hours total time. However, life intervened and my dream of owning my own plane was never realized so I've decided to live it, vicariously, via your experiences.

I remember doing a similar thing when I was a student out of VPZ (Porter County Muni) Did slow flight and full stall at 3,500 ft and definitely got to visualize flying backwards.

Hey how's that 152 handling? I flew vader 20 a few times during 1st semester, but it started having lots of technical issues. Heard they put a brand new engine in it ever since, but I've never flown it yet after the overhaul. Nice vid!

Please keep making videos, I watched all of yours and subscribed, just wanted to comment on the most recent one. I liked your analysis of crashes, the 2 you have so far, I think you have a pretty good future in RU-vid if you continue. I watch a ton of pilot channels, and I thought you were a much bigger RU-vidr the first video I watched.

The appropriate altitude discussion when pointed in one direction, and tracking the reciprocal... LOL... I did that many moons ago instructing in a Skipper. Pretty funny...

Your observation about Vfr cruising altitudes was so wild lol. I love how you were technically correct too. I was laughing at that part of the video. Flying an airplane backwards is so absurd lamo.

One of the local flight schools has a large fleet so they use that abbreviated callsign to reduce congestion on the radios

Cheese Whiz. How many hours does it take to climb to 10,000 in a 152. The highest I've ever taken a 152 is 3500 and it took most of the day to get there 😆🤣😂😆🤣😂
