Imagine, well I think he said this in a video, “mom, dad, I’m dropping out of law school……well school altogether, and I’m starting a RU-vid channel. My first video is going to be me putting autozone whistles in my exhaust pipes!”. Current day: top of the 🏔
@@nommchompsky I think he's plenty responsible enough when it comes down to it. He is really into aviation and knows his stuff. There is a sense of respect to the machine that comes with that. I fully expect him to get an R44 at some point.
It is actually a Messerschmitt Bolkow Bluhm BO 105. In the mid 1970s, I used to drive past the Messerschmitt factory in Augsburg when production began. Still a world favorite to this day.
It's like driving. You look forward to it forever, you finally can and it's awesome, and then the thrill diminishes and it only comes back when you see or buy the new models, classics, and hotrods.
Imagine you're alec and just chilling in the back of a helicopter while a giraffe and a protein shake are at the helm. Edit edit. Garrett shared my comment on his insta story. Thanks Garrett!
Alright I'm gonna say it. Garrett is legit the most interesting automotive grassroots youtuber. The sheer variety of cool shit I am now interested in because of him is absurd
Make it happen Cleet! Im sick of driving past the freedom factory while on vacation and not being able to come in. haha Unfortunately there's never an event while Im in Florida.
I was thinking they could sell helmets and included in the price of the helmet is 5 laps around the track or something. Also the giant helmet out front would have a purpose for advertising them.
Leroy DESERVES a mobile platform. There we go, I put the emphasis on the correct word. Fuck it, just yell it until Cleet hears it. LEROY DESERVES A MOBILE PLATFORM!! Edited because autocorrect is a prick.
Heavy d is so cool for sharing his helicopter like that. He’s such a great person man, from seeing what hi did for Brent up at Cerro Gordo to doing this. Man, how cool. It must be some experience to fly around in a helichoppa like that. Love this collab
@@rosinandracecars954 different guy but Heavy D and his team helped get concrete up to the Cerro Gordo Mining Town to aid in the reconstruction of a historic hotel along with opening up an old mine shaft.
@@jbw9999 He's sorry because just like myself...I don't know which is more cool. The Chopper or the RC remote helipad.....still going with the helipad at the moment
One person passed out in a helicopter, one passed out in there jeans, other passed out on top of a side by side with a powerade next to them, sounds like a hell of a night was had
You should show more of your flying videos. The views from this helicopter are absolutely amazing. I can watch this all day. Heavy Ds little robotic helicopter caddy was dope too.
@@LKN117 That would be boring. Why own a whirlybird if you're not going to fly it yourself? I could understand a private pilot for a private jet but a heli I'd want to fly it myself.
Lots of people get old bubble copters from the war out there for a few thousand and do it all the time was camping in Oregon desert area and almost had one land in my camp about 20 feet from my bus
Them EC130s are absolute UNITS! I work for a company here in Hawaii that specializes in tours using these EC130s, I must say.. I can’t get enough of it. We only have B4s on our island but got T2s on the other islands because of elevation. But you’re totally 💯 on it when you said they are “the Cadillacs of the sky” lol. Right on brother! 🤟🤟. Next video: he’s done land, water and now air! 🤣🤣 cleeets buys an aircraft!!
I definitely am big into rotarywing. Just aviation in general. My dad flew 30 years in the military and Close to 20 for medical. It's a impressive that you knew the b105. Even though it's not as fast as other helicopters its agility is 2nd to none
He has for sure but he didn't fly in this video, he was holding the cyclic and collective lightly while Dave was actually flying.. I'm a helo pilot and watched what was actually happening. Cleetus can do it with more stick time.
@@hcoptertx idk much of anything about flying but if you look at 12:39 it looks like ole cleeter was maneuvering it. You could see heavy D scratching his face or eating something but then again I’m no expert
As a 101st ABN Alumni, I've had a bunch of amazing pilots cart me around and lift loads that I hooked up to them... Sadly I encountered one idiot! SO I'm now retired and a 100% disabled Veteran.... He won't even fly an RC helicopter anymore.
@@easyricer That's terrible. Glad you are still with us. Thanks for your service. I hope you're living the good life to the best of your ability. Y'all sure do deserve it.
@@FarmerFpv Doing the best I can, with what I have.... it ain't half bad, just hurts to try and do what I used to be able to do. LOTS of fishing and spoiling grandbabies!
Sign me up for that roller coaster ride! Nothing beats a helicopter adventure. I think that needs to be on the list of things to add to the freedom factory..... helirides!!
Hey Garrett, my father is friends with the caretaker of the Pitcairn estate and maker of the first 'Auto gyro'. It's a very early version of the helicopter. If you're ever near Philadelphia I can set up a private tour for ya.
We used to drive all around the Castle when we were kids, a Beautiful place, my buddy owned the Gas station on Huntington Pike and I've talked to some of their Relatives.
Cleet knows a little too much about rotorcraft to merely be an enthusiast. Also looks like he was stick and collective sitting down on the pad.... niiiice.
Not trying to start an argument but I know where that airport It is a road but it's primarily a taxi way for planes and helicopters any aircraft have the right of way
@@brandonbld17 it's primarily a road, and it is occasionally used as a taxi way. (Even though aircraft have the right of way) It sees far more car traffic than air traffic.
@@xenonram But here's food For thought if you have a hiking trail that everybody takes dirt lights down is it still a hiking trail or is it now a dirt bike trail.. So in my opinion this is a taxi way that cars are allowed to drive down because airplanes airplanes have priority
It'd take him longer to get it out and started than it would take him to drive to the FF.. he's only 5 easy highway miles away... besides he'd probably be better off storing it as the FF or his new shop unless he built a shed with a hanger on his property (which honestly I'm not sure why he hasn't).
@@banaana1234 Not at his house... at the FF maybe if the door is tall enough. His new shop he could up it under the pavilion... but a chopper outside in Fl, unsupervised is asking for trouble.
@@79tazman Actually no, the rotors keep spinning even if the engine dies. Both planes and helicopters are effected by turbulence, doesn't mean either will drop out of the sky as long as you pilot them. As for dirty air, yeah that's a critical angle of attack. Both helicopters and planes have that and it's more of pilot error if you let it get that bad.
Cleetus: I drive race cars Also Cleetus: I fly helicopters into the middle of nowhere to look for gold and blind frogs, while avoiding being abducted by aliens.
I was a nuclear power plant operator, and landed on the USS Nimitz on a Grumman C-2 Greyhound, then took a 53' motor whale boat...aka "liberty boat", to my ship the USS Texas, a cruiser. I have also flown on numerous commercial aircraft. However, the most fun I've had? Riding on a Huey when it visited here 5 years ago! After getting off, I said "I want one!". Oh, and that slow banked turn over Lake Huron? Awesome! WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!
Sometimes idk what to play on RU-vid and I end up watching cleetus just cuz he's a wholesome guy that isn't clout focused. It's honestly really nice imo. Just had to put that out there 🤗
Did Alec really get an idea on what he was getting into when he went and applied for the grounds position?? That was a great video and great video work. I cant stand being in the open up high ( light pole inspection had me sick! ). Nice video guys.
This video in my opinion is the best video on RU-vid by far. Two of favourite helicopters, awesome lifestyle, great sense of adventure. Two thumbs up from New Zealand
All the amazing experiences G is having. In the end, that's what matters most. I hope he actively reminds himself of it all the time. Remember each and every one you can. Cherish them all.
While Cleetus is out playing and eschewing the channel's core focus, James is busy working on his Nova. He has eliminated wheelies and has the 60 time down to 1.20. Mullet will soon become irrelevant.
What?? Dude this guy is wildly serious about flying his plane and the copter. You ever watch his videos, guessing not. Don’t make stupid statements you have no idea about.
But you would fly with Garret with no helicopter experience or license lol? He was flying it too, I think I'd pick the guy with experience. Not the guy about to piss off the FAA. But that's just what I think lol.
@@brettbaratheon9776 I've watched enough of his videos and studied enough aviation accidents to know he's the exact kind of person I will never fly with.
@@squidiz496 I wouldn't fly with either of them as the pilot in command. Garrett wasn't flying it at all in the same way Dave was. Playing around on the stick isn't even close to being PIC.
Idk why watching this video made me very happy for cleetus. It’s cool to just visit other peeps and have a good time. Cleet seems to always be grinding which I respect but some off days to hang out with some friends man that’s what it’s all about. Enjoy your flying bud
You guys flew right over my house. I didn't realize Cletter Beater was inside because I always see Dave fly around. Glad you could visit the beautiful Utah, next time dont come during a drought, its a lot better looking. 😉
'Murica a new scent by Cleetus McFarland, with hints of bald eagles and nitrous oxide, and a slight hint of poo, from your buddies getting scared out of their skivvies. now available on all helicopter flights xD
