Hi all, RU-vid seems to have stuffed some of the rendering of this video, my apologies. I've spent over a week editing so that's obviously really disappointing for me and I'm sure for you. Please kindly ignore it, especially because it didn't show this initially in the final product. I'm not really a flight reviewer, so I hope this is up to your standards. I haven't done any kind of report now in over 3 years. I'm a tad rusty!

Delta's entire long haul fleet is made up of Airbus and legacy 767-300/ER and 767-400ER. They've retired all their 777's and haven't bought any DreamLiners. I hope the paint issues on the A350 which multiple airlines are experiencing (none as seriously as Qatar), doesn't bite them in the 🍑
First I think your videos have improved greatly over time! Secondly, I don't think I've ever landed to the East in LA, cool. Finally, a travel tip. Never, ever use those exchanges at the airport. Much cheaper to just get cash at an ATM on arrival with a much better exchange rate. Your bank likely also has an agreement a US bank that will also avoid the ATM fee. WestPac in Australia and Barclay's in the UK have such agreements with Bank of America. On a trip to New Zealand and Australia three years ago, I used many ATMs without issue. Also, on the BofA end anyway, I was able to order notes for both countries which were overnighted to me at no charge and obtained at the best possible exchange rate as well.
This was great, DJ! Enjoyable and informative. What international airports offer regarding transportation to and from the cities they serve is one of the things I take into consideration when deciding on trip destinations, so I especially appreciated the SYD clips.

Great video and trip report. Nice to see that you had a relatively rare water approach into LAX. It must have been a bit of bad weather in LA when you arrived. The standard approach into LAX is to fly out east of the airport, then turn westward and approach from the east over the city into LAX.
I can only dream of being on a flight from Australia to the USA and having three seats to stretch out on. With my luck, by the time I manage to make the trip, the cabin will be full.😢
Great review DJ, I'm glad you got to fly on my Atlanta Hometown Airline and on an A350 . I've been to SYD twice many years ago on Pan Am 747s and 747SP, but I didn't have time to get to MEL or BNE. I hope to go again. SYD is one of my Favorite Cities to visit but if there is a next time I want to see the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise and as much of Queensland as possible. What impressed me so much about Sydney is how nice the people were, especially for a big city. Glad you got a chance to see a bit of the U.S. Your videos of the Hotel, Northern Pacific Event and Trip Report were really entertaining and interesting.
Delta used to operate the 777-200LR on LAX-SYD with the new one suite but sadly retired them due to the pandemic. It would have been a sin to not film the spool up on those.

Not sure how often they fly out going North, but when they do, being in the RH of the plane gives a splendid view of the Sydney Harbour, bridge and Opera House.
I had a row to myself on a Delta transcontinental flight from LAX to JFK both ways. Granted I was right up the back, and managed to get some sleep on the way to JFK. Mind you, that was back in 2017
The landing approach to LAX was unusual. I lived around LAX for several years, (El Segundo, Inglewood, West L.A.) and the normal approach is from East to West from over the city itself. The approach in the video was from West to East from over the ocean. They normally switch the approach during inclement weather. The rather macabre joke was that this was done so that if an aircraft went down in the bad weather after take-off, they could easily locate the crash site.
How are we not going to talk about metal cutlery in economy during COVID, ba used plastic in first up until recently, Delta have stepped it up, great review
Omg this is just unbelievable that an American carrier is par above @Qantas. Delta has Free wifi, modern aircrafts and even metal cutlery which accompanies a neatly presented meal. Any QF rep reading this - you should be embarrassed to think you are competitive or even a premium airline.
As much as the A350 is a flagship and workhorse in Delta, the A350 is a quirky type within Delta's fleet. Namely, why do their A350s have Recaro economy seats without the wireless tablet tech when all their other new fleets like A330NEO, A220, and 767-400 refurb have Collins economy seats with the "wireless tablet" IFE?
Ghost airports and ghost flights, that was my impression when my wife and I flew with Singapore airlines from Adelaide to Manila via Singapore on Jan 8th. We had only 48 passengers on the A350-900 to Singapore and only 19 on the A350-900 to Manila. A lot of the shops at Singapore’s Changi airport were closed. It saddened me to be quite honest. Had a good chat with one of the flight crew on the Manila leg, he said the airline is losing billions and while glad to still have a job, it was bloody boring with so few passengers to look after. Could not fault the food and service, better than Qantas, Malaysian and Cathay Pacific. Singapore Airlines is right up there with best I have flown with, Japan Airlines.
Just wondering what was the date of this flight? And it seems travel is back to pre pandemic level as of rn and it makes me happy because I’m travelling in 2 weeks as well😅
This reminds me why I prefer trains if possible because i just hate Airports . 3 hours for check-in a nightmare I could be halfway across Europe in a train in that time with great views .I prefer Djs Transport on trains to this video But the other film is exceptional in its own way quite unique 🇬🇧🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺👩✈️👨✈️⭐️🥇🚦🚂✈️🥇⭐️👍
Yes. For months now. He even jetlagged and suffered a sore throat when he got to the Land Down Under. But we prayed for him and he recovered very fast.
If I wanted to pay 5,000 plus, sure. However, personally I don't really see it as worth it. It's a 14 hour flight and I had 3 seats to myself anyway, the money could be better spent elsewhere : )
@@DjsAviation you could have a much better experience, but I am not against your decision, the money is yours. When I travel, I only fly economy if the flight takes 5 hours or less, if it takes more than that, I'll fly Business
I saw nothing wrong with my Economy experience, and I saved thousands upon thousands of dollars. Again, just my personal preference but the cost that airlines put premium experiences at unless you're earning a lot of money, is ludacris and not feasible. Especially as an adult with bills
