Great views from DIA until you were looking down on Aspen, best I've seen from the air and I've been that way a few times, really enjoyed it.

I don't like the look of the Denver security with that mass of people in the middle. It is weird. What's the point of having 2 levels in that area. I like terminals that have their own security check point like O'hare not one huge central one.

It's pretty efficient, I think. If you look at my flights leaving from Denver, even the lines that may appear to be long never take me more than 15 mins. I'm not sure what you're saying about 2 levels either. I don't like O'Hare at all, it's very confusing and there are places that don't have signs telling you which direction is what terminal A,B,C, etc is towards...there's a reason why DIA has overtaken ORD, it's more efficient and laid out better, in my humble opinion.

@@Take_Flight I mean by 2 levels you have to take the escalator down to the security area. You are looking down at it when you arrive. I have heard that security takes a long time at Denver. Maybe people exaggerate the wait. I was only there in 1997 so I don t remember it too well. It always just looks so cluttered and crowded when you show the shot from the top of the escalator. O'hare is my home airport so I know it and of course, I don't have to change planes so that makes it easier. It will be interesting to see the 2023 passenger numbers. O'hare probably lost more business travel than Denver. I wouldn't be surprised if O'hare overtakes Denver soon in passengers. O'hare still has about 100,000 more aircraft movements a year but some of that is cargo which I think O'hare has more cargo flights. O'hare has about 150,000 aircraft movements less than they did before the pandemic.

There’s nothing fun about having a 25-30 min taxi when flying in or out of ORD, that was my avg last year with all my flights…but just think, if most airports avg a 5-10 min taxi (which I think is the norm), airlines are losing money by not having their planes in the air that extra time it takes just to get to a gate or take off…I can only imagine how bad it gets when there is weather in the winter. In regards to DIA, depends where you get dropped off…so I get what ya mean by two levels now, but that’s pretty typical these days to have 1 level for something and another for other stuff. So depending on how you get there, if it’s public transportation/shuttle/uber etc you’ll land on the main level for where you pick up your bag and can go through security, the upper level is where you get dropped off by regular transportation and can check a bag with the airlines. I think it’s a pretty smooth process where everyone isn’t walking over each other…I can think of a lot of airports that don’t do this, and when it’s busy, it’s very annoying.

@@Take_Flight Does DIA have separate levels for departures and arrivals? O'hare has top for departure and lower for arrivals pick up. As more population has moved west western airports have gotten busier. Illinois is losing population and I think the Chicago area isn't gaining much. I think because of location Chicago will be a pretty big hub but other airports might catch it. Charlotte has become a pretty busy hub too.

Yeah, top is for departures, lower level for arrivals…
