Another great review Nikola! I am still sad that you never recovered your mini Crosswind. I have yet to complete my full size Crosswind but seeing your videos gives me the "want" to hurry up and complete it! Looking forward to your next great video! Fly safe!! Cheers!! -Matt from eastern North Carolina USA
#1 pretty bad quality if the wing root parts are suffering from material fatigueness so early #2 such expensive plane without a manual is a no buy. Finally: the first issue will be a lot higher on the linked VTOL plane cause the pressure on the roots at take off and any ascend is a lot higher than in usual flight use - unless some tries to make loopings. Only question might be if the battery might be a too heavy load but I would not believe that. The wingroots need a stiffer solution and it does not help to have these spars reinforced with metalinserts when the base is not reliable enough. Too much risk for me - unfortunatelly even though I liked the design, but I am not sure if you had better planes like the Believer and others at least those from MyFlyDream
I have not seen issues like these with any of the other planes that I own! The Mini Crosswind has seen a good deal of action and is holding up very well so far, I am certain the same would be true of the big Crosswind, had I not lost it! And yeah, I was thinking that the VTOL could be even worse when it comes to these plastics, but also keep in mind this is over an year old kit... and they might have upgraded those parts by now!
I've flew the MFE Fighter, and its flies awesome. 7.5 Kg AUW feels like nothing when it's flying. Love to watch your videos man ! Thank you for sharing with us . Cheers !
Wow! Your fine videos continue to amaze us all. Well crafted, like your rc kit. Cool focus: a mapping base, who'd thought? I want to use a Volantex 1600 to map mountain trails at 10k feet. Parrot Disco is inviting, but with mountain waves, and cumulonimbus 365-degrees where I live. One needs grunt to escape a plane's Stairway to Heaven. Not a joke. The Soaring capital of NA is nearby, Moriarty, New Mexico.
That plane is a beaut! In the description, the link just sends me to the vtol version of the plane. Is the normal version discontinued because I just can't find it anywhere.
I don't think the normal version is sold anymore! It was up to a point... but then it just went away! I suppose you could just not install the VTOL hardware...
That would depend on a number of factors! So far the longest I've gotten with my setup is around 180 minutes, but with no payload, on a 6S 27Ah battery.
Beta? Well... it is weird to be honest... I am getting some really weird failsafes at not too big a distance, and I still can't figure out what is causing it! Will have to do some investigating and measurements of the freq outputs that the F765 Wing's processor is putting out, I've heard it may interfere, although my receiver and especially antenna are quite far away from it!
@@ArxangelRC Yeah, DragonLinkRC released new beta firmware for V3, especially designed to work with noisy controllers like 765. I had to change 765 in my birds because of that with 405SE, but even on 405 results are astoundingly better compared with range and responsiveness of old firmware. Maybe you could make a real comparison between old and beta firmware on 765 platform.
@@sakarrc5001 Didn't know that! Hmmm... this may be an interesting comparison indeed! Just hoping its not the antenna placement that is the issue, though I don't see why it would be! Will look into that firmware, might talk to Mike even, pick his brain on the matter! Thanks for the tip! :)
When you activate a fail safe on the ground in audrupilot does the motor activate or does the plane need to be in the air a certain distance from you , I notice the control surfaces move but the motor does not activate
Even if its armed the motor will not start! It needs to be moving for it to start! While stationary on the ground it will not, its a safety measure so as not to chop your fingers off!
@@jimmytheriot8978 Nope, that is how it should be when the plane is stationary! As for your cockpit, looking like a nice setup, but you do need to get a different FPV camera with a better white balance, because the way it darkens the ground when you point it up is not good! Otherwise it looks good! Well done!
Yeah, there is some issue with the processing of the higher resolutions, so I have re-uploaded the video and the 2nd time it processed fine, so you can go and check out the new one at higher res!
