Which of these planes/wings would be best for moderate range fpv. 4 km range or so for a beginner. Delta wing Z-84 845mm or this one? I already got a speedbee405 wing fc, GPS module with Compass and a Walksnail Avatar Moonlight kit 4K. I might get a little cold feat about the Z-84 PNP I have should I buy another wing or plane? I will install Inav and configure a lot of automated flights. thanks If you recommend something please recommend something that is not too large. Like a 1.6 wingspan Maximum since I only have a motorcycle to transport the damn thing.
@@Rocketman0407 I think this wing is a good choice, although the Drift would be much easier to throw in the air, but since you already have the wing, might as well stick with it. Also, it probably has a good deal more internal space for the gear, the Drift is pretty tight on space, especially for a 405 Wing FC!
@@ArxangelRC thanks I got another question. I have some small AIO Analog Cameras I will mount them on some of my smaller rc planes and use a very basic BetaFPV vr03 set of goggles. very roughly how much range do you think such a cheap setup would yield?
@@Rocketman0407 That would depend entirely on your Vtx output power and antennas both on the Vtx and on the receiving end! Potentially could easily be over 5kms!
Please i facing a problem with the movements of the elevons... so when i move the stick up and down ... 1 control surface moves down and the other moved down and same way when i move the stick left and right the elevons move up and down at the sametime.. looks like position had exchanged.. please how do i solve that
@@AstraMythology Well it sounds to me like you need to sort out the mixing. Try playing around with the "reverse" tick boxes next to the channel mapping in the "Servo output" tab. You need to reverse it so when the plane is in FBWA or Stabilized mode the contr surfaces correct the right way, after that you sort out any channels that may need to be reversed when controlling it via the radio, in the radio'w programming.
@@astratech3671 The numbers don't matter much! Put the motors first from 1 on, and then the other control surfaces, make a note of the order, and then in Mission Planner, in the "Servo Output" tab select the appropriate items from the dropdowns for each output you have something connected to.
really cool Can you send me the file so I can print one for myself too? I want a vector for a Flexjet TV plane that comes from the factory with a vector but the problem is that their vector is worth nothing! We get stuck all the time!! That's why I want to make a new vector that works well to fit the 90mm fan
Nice video ! What about the Bepp foam quality, how does it compares with Epp from ARwingnor Dolphin ones ? Does it explode on impact ? Does it shed the small balls one by one on edges ? Thanks
@@MrSergione75 Generally it is good, as far as I remember it does not shed the balls and actually glues back together very nicely with barely a scar as it doesn't deform much when it breaks. The Dolphin was also decent but not the same foam, even though it repairs well too.

At the two-minute mark of the video, there's a camera mounted on the airplane's roof. Is this an FPV camera, or is it just for regular flight recording? Could you provide the model of the camera or possibly recommend a camera for recording flights that would be suitable for this airplane model?
This VTX was cheap af. Sub 30$, so I got one for my cheap & first long range build. If I may lose it, I dont want to lose anything too nice. Interested in the maven 2.5w from geprc
@@hoanguyenphuong6405 They do have some pretty sweet looking radios lately, but I don't have much experience with them, although if mine fails, I may get one if the new ones, they look good and I am reading some good comments about them.
Hey! i have an important question i was hoping you could answer! I'm using a SpeedyBee f405 wing, and it has an analog vtx input which is 4 pins, but this vtx has 6 pins? what do i do and how do i connect it? thanks!
@@alecrider5077 Actually the pins for the VTx on the FC are output, not input. Then, check both manuals for the pinout on the FC and the Vtx to see what each pin does. You need to connect VCC, GND and Video out of the FC to the corresponding pins on the Vtx. This is the bare minimum of connections that you would need to get it working, you don't need to connect all 6 pins.
I love the design of these planes, but I’ve bought my last atom rc due to quality issues, not responding to those issues, no refunds, non delivery of product. I’ve never liked their electronics , but their foam used to be the best…. The last 3 months this company appears to have changed. They close for weeks , leaving orders just hanging there and they deliver pieces that don’t fit and wings that flat out won’t fly because they are so warped. My razor crest tale parts was not compatible with each other. I’m not the only one, atom rc website reviews are not as positive as mine :) It’s time for another company(s) to step up. Until then…it’s dollar tree foam planes.
Yes, all you say is true. With the help of this Ranger 600 I was able to fly a good 3-channel aeroplan yesterday (for the first time in my life, I'm 65 years old and disabled). The propeller is securely mounted on the back of the plane and the low weight ensures that this plan cannot be destroyed. And it is a good glider, also. I was on a place / field without trees and other obstacles, nearly no wind. It's Interesting that you can use a larger battery with 600 mAh , but the original 400 mAh batteries are not bad for a longer flight, I just changed them sometimes. See you in the air
So essentially, you can have a cheap short range antenna on a drone or rc car, however with this it allows you to keep connected to that short range drone antenna?
Hey dude! I recently had one of those fancy MFD AATs that is seen at 1:03 donated to me by an LR pilot in my area, and have a few questions that the manual can't resolve. My biggest question is what the second line out (the one that doesn't go to the driver) does, any ideas? Thanks for any help! P.S. Is this tracker capable of taking MAVLink data from a telemetry radio like the Mini Crossbow can? That would make things so much more simple for me to set up.
Yeah, and you are obviously missing the point in all this! Most of my cloud chasing videos are without me saying a single word, perhaps have a look at those! 🙂
Came here for the range test to see how my FrSky friends are doing (I fly ELRS) and was absolutely ASTONISHED by the range that this little plane can get, I think it's about time I picked one up!
Plastic is transparent to the radio signals, so it doesn't affect it much! As for props, can't say for sure, but generally for a non-vtol version with only tractor motors, higher prop pitch should be able to give you a more efficient flight.
So those individual cells got 3450 mAh each in the final battery pack? I'm guessing they aren't the typical VTC 3000mAh, right? PD: What is that self-guiding ground base antenna at 0:28? Looks awesome! :O
@@ArxangelRC Not directed particularly at you, but most reviews. Powered to get up in the air, then glider to glide. Yes I do realise that they can also be flown under power but that makes them simply another powered plane.
@@johnnichol9412 Well... not really! They behave differently than a regular plane, and I have had fun chasing up drafts under clouds and thermals a lot more efficiently than with a regular plane that doesn't have the same body setup.
I had the wing fold on me while doing a banking wide turn. I had tape on the leading and trailing edge, so it held together until impact. I st have to retrieve it. Locked in a construction yard.
@@ArxangelRC I'm not sure if they are made of carbon fiber. I was just making a banking turn when it folded. I still have not been able to recover it. Hopefully I will get a call from the communications company on Monday for me to recover the wreck.
@@jfwahl It should be carbon, its possible though it was not of the woven type, but single direction tubes, which are inherently weaker... and then again... very weird to break in such a spot if there was no prior damage to that component... but I guess its possible.
@@ArxangelRC Hello, I just recovered the drone. It looks like it threw a blade and spiraled into the ground. The main spar is made of aluminum now, not Carbon Fiber.
@@ArxangelRC yes sir, my motor test is blacked out. Esc tone when i connect battery but no motor test. Not sure if i have motor set. channel one is throttle, next is empty, then elevon right and thne eleven right. this is a matekf405 wing setup.
I bought the MFE Hero, and the problem is: Where can I get a case for this VTOL in Europe or other place in the world? Can you help, please? Thanks. (The case from MFE: case = 450€ + 450€ of taxes and transport = 900,00€ Final))
I don't know to be honest. Unless you order some custom case, your option is to get it from China, or to use the original packaging the plane came in! The plane is actually made to fit back into the original foam box even with gear on it, so that might work!
in this video where it is showing the distance from ground station ..all your videos showing maximum distance of 1300 m only ..is it altitute ? if it is altitude where is the distance to ground station ?
@@ArxangelRC thank you verymuch . Im from Srilanka Navy we are working on a Long range UAV ..i hope this transceiver is the best option.. I have one more question ..what kind of camera i can attach to this module .. i want a 10X zoom camera ..can i attach such camera to this module?
@@ghostronics-4113 Well... it is one of the systems, I feel like it may be one of the best when you get the hang of it. The system works with IP cameras with an RTSP video feeds, if you are not using a SIYI gimbal, you should adjust IP addresses as needed to get it working. SIYI have an array of cameras, some have x10 zoom, so you should check them out.
Well in theory it should just need a compass calibration, and tilt end point calibration, and then it should be able to work, given all wiring is done right.
@ArxangelRC thank you. It's great that somebody answered. I bought just mini crossbow. I'm sure it's not enough. Do i need MORE devices? May be tiny , maybe any others?
@@СерхиоАларкон Well it depends, what do you want to use it with? If you are going to bw running an analogue FPV system you will need the TFTiny, yes. If you will be using a digital one, and it can carry and output mavlink telemetry, you can do without the TFTiny.
