The Defender, though I'm sure that will be easily eclipsed by the Merchantman when that's in game. I really like the organic yet opulent aesthetic of the Banu.
@@exmatrixx nope, there’s a ship that’s rarer. The F7A is much rarer. And I mean the version that’s fully mil spec and isn’t a chassi upgrade from the F7C.
And john crewe, apparently going against the rest of the company and all existing info about the Defender, called it a heavy fighter on Inside star citizen, it was the one was about about the Scorpius. Its a very confused ship bless it. 😂
Its uncommon but not that rare, i heard ancient sith race was about 50-60 and there are many others, star wars has atleast half a dozen short lived aliens
I hope the Vandulls we currently encounter (in lore) are just the ''pirates'' of their race. Once we find their UEE equivalent, a whole bunch of possibilities open up :)
The Xi'an are pretty much our UEE equivalent, just thousands of years ahead of us in tech. The alien race I'm hoping we see later on is the race the Xi'an has waged war with for centuries and are responsible for ending the Xi'an Second Imperial Age with the death of the imperial household. They are call the Kr'thak. They are currently in unknown space on the other side of Xi'an territory and the UEE is forbidden to find out about them or even seek them out.
@@M0ggea well in the very beginning of development they did say their intention was to let us eventually play as aliens. This is the reason they invest to much in developing this races, creating even fully functional languages like Klingon or Navi. The hope it's one they to let players fully immerse in fictional cultures.
I'm super excited to hopefully see some more industrial alien ships in the future. A Tevarin mining ship, a Banu repair ship, or a Xi'an salvage ship would all be interesting to see.
imagine the real time events like ground and space wars where players choose a side, and the outcomes of such battles make it into the lore, THINK ABOUT HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE, massive carriers driven by players and atackers coming out of it also driven by players, spies leaking the wakness of each ship ,just some heavy performance fixes for that scale of battles and we are set
could also maybe be the other way arounf, which EvE online kinda already does: take player actions and make it into the lore, though star citizen would less easily lead to things like war since there isnt a system forplayers to control or fight over territory.
@@thorveim1174 And fight over resources for new ship designs(if you didnt understand, basically a massive tournaments where the winning team is the manufacturer ,thus reducing the png ships, and making it community based)
Scythe is actually not made by Esperia. They were captured from a crashed Vanduul kingship and later sold to humans. Only few hundreds were sold and that's why they are so hard to come by, as they are "authentic". You can find one on grey market for around 1500USD.
I bought the Kharto-al, Talon, and Banu Defender just for the heck of it since the wipe is coming soon. Gotta say, they are all awesome ships. Might not always be a Jack of all trades, but they change the game up if you just want something different. By far the most useful one out of the ones I bought is the Banu. Has an interior for deliveries and good enough dps with maneuverability for bounty hunting. Incredibly fast and maneuverable for its size. Definitely gonna work for it after the wipe.
@@iwuanadie1058 since the game is still in alpha the game has to wipe the database occasionally. Anything that’s not irl money bought or in your hangar in the website will get deleted one in a while due to a major tech getting added or due to the bugs just getting terrible and overloading the servers. (Like the upcoming wipe in a few weeks). They are rare but are necessary. Unlike for Tarkov where it’s part of the gameplay.
@@Mgl1206 So is that wiping gonna stay in the game forever, or until the game gets out of alpha? I've heard it's been in alpha for 10 years. I was thinking of playing it, but idk with that wiping, like how painful is it? To regrind all my ships sounds so fkin disgusting. And wdym website hangar, basically do I need to buy 500$ virtual ships so I don't get wiped every update?
lame and boring, Main Bad Guys are just Star Trek Klingons, who were drawn from mongols of the past. others are just random and boring. hat a waste of money.
I've bought a Khartu'al, Talon, Prowler, and Defender in game. My favorite is the Khartu'al, but with the current weapon balance where S4 guns are really not much of a DPS increase over S3, and with the change from 4-faced shields to a single bubble shield, which, combined with its huge front profile, makes it a flying broad side of a barn... It's not as combat effective as it once was. And if your opponent has ballistic weapons, which penetrate shields and damage your hull directly, it's incredibly easy to lose one of your fancy gimballed thrusters and basically be out of the fight. It's still incredible to fly, especially with a full dual stick and rudder setup with headtracking. The Talon is insanely nimble and presents a very small profile while still getting the same armament as the KA, while also getting access to a few missiles. It's truly a fantastic ship that can punch way above its weight class and easily dodge incoming fire. But with no storage of any kind and no bed, it's strictly a combat ship, like the KA. The Prowler... I want to love it, but it's really only good for showing off its looks. It's armament isn't too bad, but it's not agile enough to put it to good use, and being a big target, the shields go down faaast. It does work well for dropping a bunch of guys off for ground combat, and I've had success using it to drop a bunch of friends off at Jumptown to take control of the facility. It doesn't have a ton of cargo space, but there's enough room to pile a bunch of loose boxes in. When in VTOL mode, this thing might have the most powerful vertical thrust in the game. It's truly impressive. One thing that will make it more unique if it ever gets implemented is that has anti-grav projectors on the bottom and it's supposed to be able to skim super fast over the ground like a hoverbike. Lastly the Defender, which is probably the most practical of all the alien ships so far. 4x S3 repeatets are very strong, even though the ammo capacity is very low with them. S2 shields have a front and rear face, so you can put that extra juice where you need it. And it's rather maneuverable for how tanky it is. Not to mention there's plenty of interior space for boxes (though not cargo hauling) and has two beds. The copilot is supposed to be able to take independent control of aiming and firing gimballed weapons, but the implementation is not quite there yet. But as a solo combat ship, she's strong. I can't wait for the Railen. Hopefully the turrets can be slaved to pilot control, but even if not, it will still be a fun ship! And dude, please never say "ay-OH-puh" again.
Just got SC and it’s amazing but I’m having trouble making money, what are the best ways to make money as a noob, all the missions have been either too hard or crashed/glitched on me. I just want to buy some bigger ships :(
If you have a ship with room for boxes do deliveries, they can be a pain in arse butt if I'm not mistaken you can build reputation like say on microtech and there's a mission that pays 45000 that'll pop up every few minutes. Do that for a bit and save up for a cargo hauler or mining ship like the prospector. That's been my experience so far over the last week. There will be some moments of agony but just take it easy and slow down from time to time, just explore and muk about.
@@cameronbartlett8299 that’s the problem my starter ship doesn’t have anywhere for cargo, it has a cargo thing that drops down but then I can’t put anything into it or open it
Seriously, make friends. There's even a guide system on the website where you can have players help you out for free. Just learn to play right now, because a scheduled wipe is coming. At least look for money making guides.. I can earn about 400k an hour. So playing for 1 night is enough to earn me another ship. Also consider renting ships too.
@@footballfactory8797 You own a mustang. It's cargo hold is fixed in the next patch which is in testing atm. When that patch hits in a few weeks there is a wipe so don't worry about earning money too much till then. Just learn the game and have fun. Practice the basics till then. The only thing not being wiped is rep so feel free to grind that all you want. Btw, when a wipe happens [very rare] you do not loose anything you have spent RL $ on.
I buy any of the soloable alien ships. Banu defender seems like the most well rounded, but glaive and scythe are fun as well. Hoping for them to get an update soon
There is no alien Connie comparable ship, and it makes me really sad. I really really want a nice solo/coop ship that’s decently well rounded and has those wonderful alien aspects.
I love my Banu Defender, the best thing about it (which you sadly didn‘t mention for any of the ships) is its sound design! Thanks for the vid, very well done!
its harder to do lorewise, some of the races in this game have a different anatomy than normal humans, almost every alien ship has to be moddified to be used by humans (mainly by Esperia Company). There are a few races that are closer to humans like the Banu or Xi'An if im not wrong both of them do sell ships to humans, but u usually dont see them that much in Human systems, They mainly live within their own sectors of the galaxy. This game has really good lore for the different races, i hope we get to explore more of them with Squadron 42
It’s in concept and has no work being done on it. But more likely it’s rarely mentioned so Level was probably unaware it even existed. Like how the Nox wasn’t included
Love the Blade and the Glaive just wish I could change the colour of the Hood from the red LOL so I can see enemy's easier . and the size 5 canons are great at range so when someone is heading straight for you fire 2 or 3 times and if they hit its a BOOM lol
I doubt most ppl appreciate what amount of dedication and imagination must a human have to make something not known to humans. Something outside of the human's world and imagination, something truly alien and from another reality.
Very good overview - nice to have all alien ships in one video for comparison. Some incredible design and detailing on those alien ships in particular. CIG have a number of really talented ship designers. The amount of effort they put in to finessing their ships is amazing. We just got a Mole and Hammerhead and the interior and overall design and detailing is just amazing.
A small note about the Talons: The Phalanx shield does not currently exist in the game. It's given any other S1 shield that any other light fighter uses, or the Suldrath by default (which is Banu). The Phalanx shields are supposed to be able to blend together with other fighters to create a larger, stronger front-facing shield, like you see in many sci-fi IPs. Something we don't currently have in game.
It was my understanding that the MISC Reliant ships were made with influence and a coop agreement with the Xi'an Aopoa company. Heavy use of Xi'an technology by MISC's xenotech team. Am I mistaken?
Most MISC ships are partly alien, it was what saved the company from going bankrupt in the lore. The Freelancer and Hull series was what really saved it, and they have more alien tech than the Reliant series too.
I have been with Star Citizen since 2013!And have always Loved the Scythe Glaive! The 2 Wing Bladed Version Only the Vanduul ACE Pilots Flew !No-Cloak thought! DAM YOU! LOL
You will be a Grandfather by the time Squandered 42 is released, I will be dead and in Hell with Chris Roberts, After he gives up the development of Star Citizen to Microsoft for Lots of Big Money to help Develop a New Movie his current wife can star In. Oh great video, great speaking Voice, Quick to info, and Informative storyline narrative. Keep up the great videos
In my view these aren't really 'aliens' - they are more like 'humans with wrinkly skin'. The ships are also really just the same as human ships. Why would aliens have two arms, two legs, eyes and mouth in the same arrangement as ours? Why would their ships look human-scaled, with interfaces that look human and in English? In my view 'aliens' should be more like the mysterious ships in The Arrival, or the incomprehensibly large ship VGER in Star Trek the Motion Picture, surrounded by an unknowable energy cloud. Even better: AI like in Fire Upon The Deep, which just blacks out the stars, or giant tree ships like in Hyperion.
If they brought this game to PS5 the console wars are over. I'm an Xbox 1S player but I know this game can get crazy expensive, but I think PlayStation is closest to a MID range PC you can get. I love watching vids on this game the dog fighting is crazy cool, but the games strength is open space transportation. I have a friend who's been playing from day one, his role is Naval Fleet Commander.
What i miss is.. some kind of nomad or pirate faction, that has completely crappy ships, with oil leaking and old but effective projectile gatlings and shit. You could say.. Mad Max ships.. rusty behemoths welded together. That would be my thing.. every ship in the Game is boring for me.. except maybe the Reclaimer.
hope they allow you to command the huge carrier like ships. would be cool to have the ability to launch AI fighters and if not ill have to make some friends.
I think the Alien races needs a bit more... diversity? i mean they seem to be bipedal with a head and 2 arms... boring. Also there is a lot of hard surfaces (squared) and buttons, and chairs, and beds everywere (probably by the adaptation into a humanized control though). But don't get me wrong, they ARE beautifull ships in their own way, but i just can't help but feel that the potential to see really strange, unknown, original ships/races that must be in a universe is not there YET. There is also asumed that all the planets have the same gravity (or your space suits are just THAT good), and are breathable (i don't know if terraforming is a thing in Star Citizen, can help with the complain). I want to see also an underwater race with underwater design cues for example (the ship interior would be of course adapted for underwater life style of the particular alien race). Just imagine the different propultion theories, life support systems, weapons (proyectile ones are largelly ineffective underwater, as well as lasers because of the refraction in the water... i think), etc.. there is a lot of variation to have with an underwater race (think about it Chris).
Those Esperia ship are insane but only for cash is too much money grab =( , liked Defender and the Mist Pokemon Style sick ship soon they allow to buy in game will be my combat ships for sure.
It would be pretty cool if the prowler had drop pods, kinda like halo. That would make it fun and possible to drop onto planets and moons from further up, maybe even orbit without needing an in game jet pack or anything.
Is there any current in-game interaction or reference to these alien races? I haven't seen any of the video clips seen here. I had no idea any of this was in the game, lol. Fairly new player. I believe I do have Squadron42 access, but as I understand it, not yet available to play.
Man i just want to teleport 10 years ahead in life and just see what this game will look like then, but ima have to sit here and slowly watch i guess 😂
This shit was announce in 2012, let that sink in, this is what happens when you have no deadlines. You reworks the same ships over and over without anything really new LOL
this is how we get to something like ready player one. Zuckerberg's metaverse is a waist of energy. the developers of Star citizen are creating something really special. there is already a large virtual area that is shared by a significant online community. this verse will inevitably be able host game play beyond space missions and will lend itself well to virtual reality.
you forget to mention the scuthes and glaives are suicide planes with blade in wings to do major dammage to enmies ! and you fail the king ship is 2800 meter and for human 2700 meter the retribution
Actually the Prowler is very good for all but the top bounties, all the hardpoints that the pilot controls can kill bounty targets on the first run, making its lack mobility a non issue. Still not great to handle
espria is a human company specelised in recreation of vics, archaeological and archival company, they are more focused on the history and part of their fund rasing is alien ships or recreations
I am one of those people where alien ships do not want to own an alien ship. I am still glad that these ships are there in the PU and that their own races design language is fleshed out and rendered to a high detail.
Thought star citizen looked interesting. Made an account. Downloaded the launcher. Tried to log in. Asked me for a code. Code failed. Asked for backup codes. All 10 backup codes failed. Now permanently locked out of my account. 10/10 game.
Maybe when the game fully releases you can choose a race and have certain ships, like for the Xi'an you have better control/more upgrades with those kinds of ships, and vice versa for the other races. And depending on which race you choose you have more/less control with other races' ships. Like for humans you get the "human-itified" version, and you dont if you choose the ships original race you get the original design, just an idea but hopefully something along these lines is put in the game
