Once again this year I'll be flying in the Give Hope Wings fundraiser! Our June 2024 flight will see us stop in communities in Eastern Canada to raise awareness for this worthy cause. Last year (2023) we raised over $27,000 towards helping our neighbours - we made a positive difference in the lives of many. Here's the link to the 2024 fundraiser page: support.hopeair.ca/ghw2024/glens-hangar
Well, it took 9 days but I have watched all of the videos. I wanted to fly but a decade and a half ago, I had open heart surgery. I could still have gotten then but WAY harder. So, not a pilot but if I were to make one suggestion, on several videos, a cheap pair of binoculars would have helped immensely. No need for $500 Nikons, a clear $20 set from a big box store would fit the bill. Thank you. God Bless, stay safe and warm.
Isn't the internet beautiful? What a blessing it can be at times. Sure it has its bad moments but I'll be good gosh darned if I am not impressed with this communities ability to make things happen. Glen. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful. Congratulations to YOU and JULIE as Volunteers of the Year and thanks to Hope Air for including your online Friends. Thank you, Hope Air. WHAT AN AWESOME SERVICE TO THOSE NEEDING A TRANSPORT TO AIRPORTS AND MEDICAL TREATMENT.
It's truly amazing what we can accomplish through you Glen. You bringing us along on projects like this allow us to experience flight in a way that some of us can't. I have X-Plane and have done some of your routes in weather just so I can experience the flight. Maybe next time I will follow along in game 🙂
Really glad to see this, but now Balance requires that you do a cooking segment in MVU. Maybe a fly in camp cooking video. :) I also look forward to the next opportunity to contribute to Wings of Hope. With luck we can raise the bar again.
I donated early on after Glen pointed to it on his channel and saw how quickly the donated amount got larger and larger. Glen, it was my pleasure to donate my bit and will do so again. Steve
Hello Glen I love watching your channel ❤❤ Can you make a video on cost of owning an airplane in Canada..with all costs associated..annuals, operating costs and hangar cost etc…me and my friends are really waiting…really appreciate ❤❤
WOW Glen ! That's awesome and well deserved by the tenacity you showed as you tried to complete the entire flight route only to be shut down by non other than Mother Nature herself. It couldn't have gone to a more deserving person.
it amazing how a group of people that are interested in a channel that give for a cause! heck even if it a few dollars in your case would cover a couple liters of fuel. here in the state im thinking its like 6 dollars a gallon for AV gas and that covers quite a bit! there are good people out there in this world that dont mind helping! take care!
The question becomes, does the award/plaque/recognition get displayed in the kitchen set, in the hanger, or somewhere personal in your home. I'd vote either hanger or personal in your home.
I get that the "friends" part is us viewers, but who is this Glen guy? Never heard of him! 😉 This is amazing! I hope this will be surpassed by a massive amount in the future! No, I know it WILL be, that's probably a much more accurate statement! 😛 Keep up the awesome work Glen, your content is simply awesome, especially for us foodie/aviation geeks like myself! 😄👍
whew - easy answer on that is this: Nav Canada, won't give / sell / license the charts for in panel use. Or at least not at a price that any of the chart companies are willing to pay given our small population and ROI possibilities. In 2023 I talked to every company that provides charts for the Dynon at Oshkosh, and they all said the same thing about not being able to use Nav Canada charts. I've addressed this with COPA, and they said this is a topic of ongoing discussion with Nav Canada. One company (Airmate.aero) is working on a solution by building their own charts from scratch, and they have released a couple of Beta versions. I tested it, and found it lacking but I provided feedback and they were receptive and made the changes. Dynon for their part is not part of that loop. Long story - but I use mostly Jep for the charts, and keep trying Airmate as they hone in on their version. I keep the pressure on COPA to lobby for change. Hope that helps? Spring is coming, we should meet up at a fly in somewhere. I flew a couple weeks ago with a couple of other Canadian RU-vid channels, and we all had a great time.
@@GlensHangarHey! Thanks for the details. Sorry, I missed the notification that you replied to this. Too bad it's not a little more straight forward for us in Canada. I guess if it was easy everyone would do it right :) We're on our spring hiatus now. Our runway is all thawed out, just needs to dry up a little (a lot). Let me know if you're heading to any flyins. I'll do the same. Thanks again for the explanation
