Thank goodness your flights weren't caught in the Hurricane. I'm glad you were able to get where you were going safely! And BKM got some excellent shots for this video. The rain hitting the airport windows was very soothing and the city lights from the plane were amazing!
Yes, this is a safety protocol. It raises suspicion. Bad actors could check in, send their bags in the air, and be out of the country by the time the plane takes off.
Shreveport!!!! Yessss!! My home town. It wasn’t that bad in SHV. A few trees down and I lost power for 26 hours. A lot worse in Natchitoches and further south.
Just thinking about your clock mishap...I think you can download a dual time zone app one for your regular mountain time and one that changes as you travel.
Hey Shelby and BKM!👋 figured itt out either u and BKM r a couple or u r roomates? But none of my business! Y'all be safe in ur travels and adventures! Always love the scenery and I think the introduction is awesome! I think that and the scenery is what attracted ur utube channel to me, not to say that ur not a pretty woman at all! 👋😆❤❤👍
Shelby, a great video of your flying nightmare. It's bad enough flying on a normal day, now with this virus thing makes it that much worst, and now your flying with a Cat4 hurricane ready to hit anytime. You did well Shelby, at least you had B Cam with you for moral support. B Cam did an excellent job with the night video from the plane. Looking forward to part 2 Shelby. Stay safe Shelby !!!!!!!
Oh yeah it was totally my fault 😅 My phone has always had trouble changing so I had it set on mountain time permanently. I was actually really sick that day. I don’t know if you could see it in my face at the beginning of the video, but I could barely swallow water my throat was so swollen. I was kind of out of it that day... 🤷🏼♀️ just trying to go through the motions and kind of missed a few steps. Can’t be perfect all the time. Makes for a good story though 🤗
Oh don’t need to worry about. When I was in the Royal Air Force in 2003 it was more dicey being shot at with missiles. A couple of times I spilt my tea as the pilot took evasive action. Bit of wind blowing any day 😉😎😂
Trucking for me has been a career choice. I really never knew I wanted it to be my thing until I got in. I wanted to build custom homes as a career goal but i graduated HS in '09 and the bottom was already out of the market at that point. So i turned wrenches and eventually burned out and landed in a driver's seat and haven't looked back since. Of course there are bad days. I did local hand load delivery, van work, regional otr, tanker, and gravel. Gravel is my thing for sure. And I stretch my legs in the winter doing regional. It pays the bills and scratched the itch of wondering what longer haul stuff was like. My favorite states are the southern Appalachian states. Kentucky, Tennessee, far eastern ohio, and the rocky areas of Missouri. Driving through drilled rock is just fascinating and the views along those roads are nothing short of incredible. I doubt I'll get to see the rockies for a number of years due to needing to be home every week, but I do look forward to a potential future with me heading westbound. My end goal is to move up in this outfit and eventually make it on the truck show list and be able to travel around to shows and represent the company and show off a lesser viewed sector of the industry, Michigan gravel trains. Maybe some day. I still get to drive really dressed up trucks regardless and I love the job I do.
Good that the airline was understanding of your mistake and that they were still able to get you where you were going. About 24 years ago I was supposed to take a trip from Chicago to Florida. I had just replaced the engine in my truck, and the fan came loose on the Stevenson on the way to midway, so I had to pull to the side of the road and fix that. When I did I must have hit something, and it made a little hole in the sidewall of the tire, so I had to stop and get a can of fix a flat since I didn't have a spare with me... which didn't work, somehow I got to the airport with only a little air left in the tire and parked in the wrong garage that was for people picking up and dropping off, not for overnight parking.. but whatever I figured I'd deal with that later. I got out of the truck and grabbed my gear, luckily I wasn't checking any luggage and had everything I needed in a carry in bag. I got to the gate in time to watch the plane back away. I talked to an agent from southwest airlines and they put me on a flight in 3 hours that stopped in Nashville, and then went on to Orlando, but when I got to Nashville I was considered standby and sure enough... got pulled from the plane... except... I left my ticket home in the seat back pocket never to be seen again. So, southwest had me sit in Nashville for I think 2 hours, I had told them that I needed either to get to Florida or back to Chicago and hadn't planned to move to Nashville, and also my ticket home was in the seat pocket and could they tell a flight attendant to grab it for me? They put me on a plane that was already boarding to New Orleans, then after 5 hours I'd go on to Orlando, so I flew to New Orleans and sat in the airport for 5 hours, where I went to an empty gate and took a good nap on the floor. Then flew on to Orlando 7 hours later than I was supposed to arrive. Luckily... the girl I had gone to see was sitting there when I got there, and was very cool about it. I talked to someone about my ticket home before we left the airport and they told me the ticket was like cash, so anyone can use it, and apparently someone had so I was stuck in Orlando until I bought another ticket, so... the girl I was with bought the ticket and we went on.. when I got home I had a truck that was sitting on a flat tire in an airport parking garage that wasn't for overnight parking for a week and they called abandoned. When I showed up the guard put air in my tire, then they charged me around $250 to pull my truck out, which I didn't have at the time, so I paid the $40 I did have and they told me to mail them the rest, which I never did. Then I had to go to a tire shop on the south side of Chicago close to the airport and bought a used tire for $30 that ended up having a slipped belt, but it got me 45 minutes home. Once I got home I called and was given a voucher for the price of the ticket home, and had to go buy a new tire. Southwest's customer service was amazing. Ever since then I've always flown southwest and never any other airline, and I've never had a vehicle without a spare tire and tools to change it with.
hey beau temps roulle sister you made it to LA lol.... you are still based I Utah as far.as I know... that you had to fly to Atlanta to get to Shreveport is insane... I used to fly for a small air taxi company and our main service was direct flights no wild cross country detours with executive limo style service... you. need to step up... a high class girl like you shouldn't be traveling steerage class. FYI I've flown a small plane around a hurricane no.big deal... lots of fun if you keep your seat belt fastened.
hahahaha i love how the first thing you said when you got off the plane in shreveport was "this airport looks old" welcome to shreveport, where everything is old and crumbling.
You should have tried to sleep when she came over Vernon parish with 136 mph winds that was rough, people still without power and were over 100 miles from the gulf! they say below us will be over a month or more for most to get power!
I love your cheerfulness and that you always have a positive outlook. I love to watch your videos you always cheer me up after a hard a day of work. Safe travels to both you and BKM
Oh so cute!! Well Shelby we saw postcards and a photo of the new Cascadia Truck so guess what comes next, will be the appraisal to you and him driving home?
A huge shout out to the camera man! You're good at what you do, always giving great footage. I especially was happy to see what it looks like to board a plane. I've been been on one so that was cool!
You're so fortunate to have a close friend/ex to film you and edit your videos. Hope you thank and appreciate him often. It is what propelled your channel so quickly.
@@nicklinderman4462trigger much? yes she knows her stuff and is beautiful. However if she would have started on her own trying to film everything herself the channel would not have grown as "quickly".
How does your phone stay in one particular time zone? Once it pings a tower, it should get the time from there in whatever time zone it resides in. If you’re phone thinks it’s in Boise’s time zone and it’s really in New York City and there’s an emergency or something with the phone or you, it could be a problem. Like with ems.
Happiness By The Mile well then. Ok but it might be good to let it update to the local time, you never know when things happen or flights to shreveport take off without you....however, it’s your phone. Not mine. Keep the greasy side down on the new rigs and good luck to you!
I love flying!! Those 'small' jets are awesome, usually very smooth.. i remember the days of crawling into those little turbo props, aka puddle jumpers... now those were a fun ride!!
Miss the vid’s you driving and hooking up the doubles and all the other trucking stuff you did. Sorry but this travel content is not near as interesting... 😞
Some of us like it just fine. She invites you into her life, stop being rude. IB Trucking Girl is the most successful at this, and besides driving and her heavy hauls, she shows cooking in her truck and vacations with her sister. But she invites you into her life. You politely take what interests you and leave alone what doesn't.
Yoooo I was driving through Shreveport JUST as the hurricane cane through and then I went back to Atlanta down I-10 and saw all the damage and power outages and it was crazy.
I am excited for your journey and to watch your videos. I start my orientation in Oct. and your videos on what to bring and expect where very helpful. Take care and be safe.
I love everything you do Shelby , especially all the music you play in your videos , thank you for what you do for all of us . We hope you are safe and doing well !
As an airline employee, I'm so glad that you made the decision to fly, I do a lot of research on cleanliness and safety of different airlines. I realize that you don't have a lot of options to fly to SHV out of SLC. I believe that choosing Delta was a good choice to keep you safe from the Covid since a lot of airlines don't block the middle seats. I hope you had a safe and productive trip. Love your videos!!
It's kind of crazy that a lot of people outside of Florida freak out about hurricanes and Florida ends unless it's not a category 5 they don't even care I remember during Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Matthew my neighbors across the street were on their roof drinking beer blasting music I'm not originally from Florida so when I seen that I was like that's crazy but I get parently that's normal
The time on your phone should automatically change as you move across the country in different time zones. Unless you have your phone in airplane mode witch turns off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Cell connections...
