Newport, Oregon. July 4, 2014. A slight breeze off the ocean provides ample air to stretch Zoozoo disc dog into lofty clouds and pouring waves. Zoozoo stretches out and flies like an eagle. I love the wind. I love my dog. I love the ocean.
We shot this video on the Fourth of July, 2014. "We" is my two sons were my cameramen. On a Canon T2i and a iPhone 5s. I love the slo mo feature on the 5s.
This video features my wonderful dog Zoozoo. She takes me to the nicest places. It was okay to be in Newport for the 4th of July, and was much quieter than the old days in Tacoma. In Tacoma I had a dog that hated fireworks, so I have always sought places away from fireworks. Newport is a mellow place to spend the Fourth of July.
We have also had lots of whale sightings out in the bay. The trick is to watch for the whale watching boats. If the motorized whale molesters are out there, the whales are probably out there too. Not all of them are bad but I have seen one whale watching boat really swoop on surfacing whales. It has not been uncommon to see a dozen to twenty spouts in a days time. Wear protective eye wear if you plan on looking at the sun.
