Just stumbled across you on Instagram and your Fudge interview! Love the format and mix of sim video with the real thing! My dad was the chief pilot of the Bush division of Cordova Airlines in 1967 when Alaska bought them. When I was a kid I remember having dinner at Mudhole Smiths house! I’m probably biased, (another Alaska guy) but keep up the excellent work! Ps, we really do have the best mix of flying in the world!

Piloted Beavers out of Sitka back in the late 90’s, early 2000’s always flying Alaska Airlines on longer hauls. They are simply the best especially with the remote airfields and constantly changing weather to contend with in Alaska. Great video! Thank you!

Thank you "The Pilot Life" for showing this. I'm in pursuit of obtaining my private pilot license. Currently, I'm studying for my FAA written test. It's getting better as time goes on. I should be able and ready take it late this year. First stop to become a CFI and then ultimate goal to become a first officer for a regional airline. Thank you for posting and showing all of your video. Great appreciated.

Just got back from an Alaskan cruise. I was surprised to hear that they fly out of some of the small towns like Sitka, Juneau, and skagway. I had to bust out my foreflight to look at runway lengths!

Love the format - Mix of actual and flightsim 2020 plus some real nav facts. I'm a private pilot with instruments. My ex-son in law Marcus Hubbard flies ASA 737 past Q400 Horizon captain. He arranged 3/4 hour q400 real sim time for me. I Didn't drag the tail on landing or takeoff. fs2020 has better graphics than full motion sim.

Love this video-wow on the weather. Back in the Northwest Airlines days they had the “Montana Milk Run” - 7 stops between Minneapolis and Spokane. The trips were always very senior pilots because the pilots got to make several visual approaches/landings-loving to fly!
@ThePilotLife
@ThePilotLife Месяц назад
Sounds familiar!😎 I didn’t know that about Northwest. What plane did they use for that?

Stretch 727’s-harder to land. Check out the diagram for Butte. Base turn on the numbers landing north.

Really enjoyed the SE Alaska trek videos... made me want to head back up there for a vacation. Curious, which 737 variant do you prefer flying? I bounce between the 800 and 700 quite a bit in MSFS.

RWY 33 could have a magnetic heading ranging anywhere from 326 deg. to 335 deg.

Interesting you hit FL 29 for a 35 min flight. Is that terrain based or most efficient for the route.

Do you think that Alaska serves the smallest communities with a 737?
@ThePilotLife
@ThePilotLife Месяц назад
That’s a good question. I’m not sure. Population numbers can be misleading as those numbers change significantly during different seasons. 👨‍✈️
@GlacierPilotGst
@GlacierPilotGst 6 дней назад
Probably with the Gustavus seasonal service. Gustavus has a population of around 500.
