Thank you for sharing this walkaround and flight video, very informative. I love the design of the Panthera, looks very sexy and well-finished. Must be $$$$! 😁
Two matters that interest me, what is the glide ratio and in a worst case scenario if the aircraft is inverted on the ground, how do you get out with those gull wing doors???
If I could order the experimental version with SDS EFI on the engine instead of magnetos this would be creme de la creme. “Update”, know why the “never exceed speed” is sooooo close to the high speed cruise?? The tail isn’t designed for the speed of the io-540, the tail is still designed for the io-390 and its speeds that it could pull the plane. The FAA has to make Pipistrel strengthen up that skinny tail with a lot more carbon wraps to make this this certified. As it is Pipistrel is just hoping you won’t notice and try to save money by selling it just as it is now.
Put in an automotive diesel engine with all modern ECU controls and OBD2 etc and you've got the perfect plane! Could use diesel fuel or jetA and instead of burning 14.5g/h it would burn more like 9g/h at 210m/h and the engine would cost about 1/5th the cost or less for a superior engine! If PP offered it with, say, an Audi 3.0 TDI I'd totally buy one. Better engine that would take about $80,000 off the price!
@@ClintEatWood yeah ... love that plane but it's super expensive and not as fast ... and it's super expensive because that stupid CD300 is stupid expensive. They need to start putting automotive 350HP tdi engines in these things... they're more advanced and cost 1/8th as much and are super efficient and reliable
@@fifi23o5 regardless,a well made and impressive aircraft...as far as I’m concerned the panthera is a better performer than the DA50rg..and cost less to operate
@@unkameatgoodbar2315 True. And I could bet it handles better, too! I was fortun ate enough to get a ride in Panthera. I was filming in Pipistrel factory and I got a ride in Velis Electro and Panthera with a factory pilot. And, since I used to fly, pilot let me take control for a while. It is surprisingly responsive, but at the same tme pretty stable, it flies hands-free without a problem. Controls are very nicely ballanced and proportioned, stick is a two finger affair, it is a lot of fun to fly, not just for transport fron A to B.
@@fifi23o5 awesome,I see this plane can enter into a spin and get out of a spin....this to me is a good buy, living in Canada I can make the trip overseas via Greenland and iceland...
@@unkameatgoodbar2315 Pilot showed me a few spins, I tried one. It's quite gentle, exits easily, with just controls in neutral, it stops in less than half turn, I didn't look at the height loss, but it seemed pretty little to me. Pre-stall buffeting is there, it is just not very pronounced like in some planes, probably because of overall aerodynamic cleanlyness and T-tail, but you can feel it and it also has AoA indicator and alarm. Landing gear also seems to be very robust and comfortable. I didn't land myself, but I know that gress field, it's not the smoothest, but I couldn't feel any holes.
how appropriate parked right next to an SR22 this is the 3rd video I've seen with N37RR as the star. Doesn't get old beautiful plane. I have noticed the non-certified price is going up in each video. Just a few months ago it was over $100k less! A couple of more RU-vid videos and this will be over $1Mil. Stop filming this plane it's hideous to to look at! (that should get the price down)
Masks are for others' safety, not your own. If I caught it I'd most likely be OK but the mask greatly lessens the chance I'll pass it on to my parents or grandparents, etc. But hey...fuck old people and the immunocomprimised, amirite? Only pussies wear a mask!
