We flew Oman Air recently to London business class. We can’t say enough about how wonderful they were. Very impressive and a third of the cost of Qantas with service that Qantas could not hold a candle too..😊
I'm one of the team that built MCT and SLL airports and am incredibly proud of the work done. Glad you liked the airports. Oman is an incredible vacation destination with great diving, tremendous mountains and wonderful people.
I lived in Muscat when i was younger, from around 2001 to 2006; I can tell you that the airport looked nothing like this back then! So good to see the development in Muscat and Oman overall. Definitely time for a visit back.
@@congresssux9766 yes, I went from novice to Rescue Diver during my time there. Check out ODC (oman dive center) and Euro Divers at Bandar Rhowda, I think Karin still runs it?
Hi Dennis, many thanks for your exploration in Oman and sharing some of the geographic highlights. Will place it high on the bucket list as a must look at it soon. Cheers
Beautiful video. As allways. Dennis thank for taking me on all the trips. It’s an other way to travel. And your Company is great as allways. Love from the Netherlands💐🇾🇪
Enjoy SLL - it is one of my favorite places in whole of middle east. Kinda undiscovered gem, with all the greenery, trees in hills and mountains - and overall a subtropical environment. Loved it.
Oman, is beautiful. An amazing review, as always. Thank you Dennis, for taking all of of us to places, we normally wouldn't think of putting on our bucket list.
I feel your pain, I was eagerly looking forward to a show called Beaver Watch, turned out it was about a rodent with an appetite for trees, not at all what i was expecting. :) :)
@@RobG001 It wasn’t any pain as such as I have subscribed to Dennis for many years even before the pandemic, but Dennis does have a track record for questionable content at times. ;-)
Just come back from using WY in business from BAH-MCT-BAH... really impressive product, with the same level of catering you could expect on a legacy European long haul route. Both BAH and MCT airports were stunning - spotless and virtually flawless in terms of passenger experience. Thanks for a great review!
Great to see Dennis you had a great experience in economy with Oman Air. Have flown Oman Air many times and have found their business class exceptional every time. It’s a shame they don’t fly direct to Australia. Their price for business class to Europe was $6500 return. Amazing.
This was a great review! I'm excited to try Oman Air for the first time and explore Muscat airport. The pistachio muffin and cashew nuts sound delicious and the seats look very comfortable. Thanks for the review, Dennis!
Great news for you dennis Oman is set to join oneworld in 2024. I flew the max 9 on united lax to SFO to connect to my business class award ticket to ICN with Asiana airlines.
Feel like I travel for free watching your vids Dennis. Haven’t stopped at MCT for a long time, in the days it was a stop on route to Europe. Looks much more schmick now! ❤❤❤
Oman definhtely should be. And yes, I rate far higher than the UAE and Qatar. Oman has much more to offer. The people are wonderful and zero attitude, unlike some other bling-y "my skyscraper is taller than yours" ME destinations. Bonus is that Omanair is actually crewed by Omani nationals- with a few expat crew. Just go. You'll have a wonderful time.
Hi Dennis. The muffin review what's a funny addition to the video 😅 Those cashews were whoppers, too, although I dunno if I would fork out that kinda money ! I would rather spend it in smaller family run shops, I am sure there would have been plenty as your tour group travel around. Oman looks a lovely country to visit
@@Dave_Sisson I am quite aware of that. It's the same in all airports. I am just saying, rather than waste money in an airport, I would rather wait, and spend that money in another part of my trip, where I could support a small family business
@@heathertruskinger6214 Fair enough, so either you have never been to an airport or if you have, you never eat in airports? But I don't think its fair for you to implicitly criticize people who do get a snack in airports. Different people have different tastes and preferences to us, that's part of the wonderful diversity of humanity. 🙂
@@Dave_Sisson Yes, I do fly, and I have been to Australian airports. I also watch quite a few vloggers as well, who visit many airports all over the world, so I see overseas airports both airline lounges, or the general eating/ drinking options, from their points of view. I prefer airline lounges, I admit, but that's also because I travel with limited mobility, and I find staff in the lounges go the extra mile ( pardon the pun) to help me. Otherwise I eat and drink before I leave home, and just carry water , until I arrive. And, not , I am not criticizing those who do eat and drink from airport establishments... you are correct, it is all part of the experience.
Hi Dennis. Flying is on my list. I recently flew Emirates First to BKK in first say no more. Also flew Qatar QSuite to DOH. Then on to SGN in there A50-900 all in business with some mixed reservations tbh. I am back in June with Emirates business to BKK. I wanted to try Oman Air, unfortunately there connection times are ridiculously long hence have not flown with them.
Oman Air appear to be great onboard but absolutely horrendous trying to deal with regarding covid cancellations. 2 and a half years on and still fighting for a refund, according to Oman Air I still could have travelled (lol)
I was at one point a high level FF visit with them, and nothing but disappointed. Never will fly with them again. Joke of an airline considering the ME3 competitiveness.
Truly excellent video Dennis! You never forget that moment at 2:52 where you first see your aircraft for the days journey! Also congrats on ticking off the B737 MAX 8 especially with Oman Air 🇴🇲 what an excellent way to fly the MAX! The meal and IFE looked excellent as well and I’m shocked how amazing their MAX looks, the only MAX cabin I’ve ever seen that looks any better has to be the Singapore Airlines 🇸🇬 example and only because of their weird business class seats on a narrow body and it’s not better that Oman’s example by much! My first MAX flight was on an American Airlines B737 MAX 8 from Orlando (MCO) to Washington D.C. Raegan Airport (DCA) it picked up a HUGE delay but it only had flown for two weeks post grounding. I made a trip report about it on my channel here’s the link if there’s interest: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-omZNTqyUcq4.html P.S. MAX is also all capitals when referring to the B737 MAX… Cheers 🥂 That was one sensational flight…
Flew Norwegian from Scotland to New York Stewart International (an hour+ away from New York City). It was either the Max 8 or 800. Aircraft itself was beautiful. But for what I'd say was long haul, the Norwegian seats were terrible. Very thin, limited padding and therefore comfort. You had to find a comfortable position and not move from it. Zero in flight entertainment, which was a problem for the older lady sitting next to me who tried to get Netflix on her iPad and I had to explain she didn't have an internet connection. In flight meals you really needed to prebook, and whilst tasty they were a bit on the lighter side. I expected a bit more. Not enough toilets for the length of flight either. Stewart International Airport you collected baggage before going through immigration, and they were friendly enough. On the way out staff, even the TSA, were friendly too. Bit of a warning though, there's practically nothing airside to eat. The one place that did hot food was overwhelmed by passengers and couldn't cook what little they were offering. I seen the same people queuing for food that had ordered over half an hour before. Location of Stewart International Airport is north of NYC, so you'd need a bus to get you closer if you don't have a car, and few would drive in NYC anyway. For me it was fine as I got picked up by a friend and we went skiing in Hunter Mountain for a week. But I still needed to get an UBER from New Jersey as we had a couple of nights there. Flight back was fine with Norwegian. You do need a good book or movies already loaded onto your iPhone / iPad. Poor comfort levels of this aircraft makes me say this really should only be used for domestic and short international flights. Low prices were very tempting because United has got very expensive on this route. Sadly, Norwegian seems to have stopped this route, which would have benefitted from the 787s they're now scrapping at Prestwick International Airport. United with so little competition have rocketed the prices, but then it may also be because fuel is far more expensive too. And since then, the pound has been crashed by Brexit making everything more expensive in the UK. (Stupid Brexiters). Maybe it's more to do with external factors that this is now so expensive as the UK does have massive inflation due to Brexit.
I like Oman Air from the olden days. But you will not find me on a Max, I have rerouted before, or re-booked on another airline, to avoid having to fly on them. Remember the DC10s… they kept saying the plane was ok, kept crashing, until it finally went away. And the Max is a plane that really was designed by the Wright Brothers, with new engines stuck on. Oman: go, best country to visit in the Emirates. Boeing Max: hard pass!
