The Black Widow was one of the wildest looking and most specialized American production aircraft of WW2 .The P-61 was the USA's first purpose built night fighter. Armed with powerful engines, radar, a remotely controlled 50 cal. machine gun turret and four 20mm canon, this black beauty was designed to sneak up on unsuspecting prey and quickly blow them right out of the sky. The Black Widow's powerful armament and ability to carry additional bombs and rockets also made it an effective ground attack plane, and it was fast enough to hunt down German V-1 "buzz bombs."
