Taking off from Leeds Bradford Airport on a scenic cross country flight to Blackpool.
I take off and head South to fly over my home town of Morley, before turning West for the Pennine crossing. The cloud base was around 2,500ft, with the the tops of the Pennine Hills reaching over 1,500ft, so not much margin for error. Not to mention the busy Manchester TMA also above me at 3,500ft.
It was extremely bumpy along most of the route, the previous day had seen strong winds as Storm Doris passed through. But despite a few bumps and heart stopping wing drops, the little SportCruiser handled it well.
