Flying the world's longest flight! 17 hours in Premium Economy with Singapore Airlines | TRIP REPORT

At 9,525 air miles, Singapore Changi to Newark Liberty is the worlds longest flight. Actually, that's a lie. JFK to SIN is 9,585 air miles, but hey what are a few extra miles anyways? Anyhow, come along with me as we try out Singapore Airlines Premium Economy product on this almost 17 hour flight? From interesting catering, back pain, and a moody landing there's plenty to see!
P.S. I know, this is a pretty SHORT video for the worlds LONGEST flight, but maybe i'll starting showing bathrooms in my reviews if you all are interested? Let me know in the comments down below what you'd like to see from me in the future!

it's meant to reduce the noise generated from rolling of suitcases, to make it a more pleasant experience for everyone in an enclosed space like the airport.

Now I know why you had an extremely fast check-in, cause you were not in the right terminal. I’ve heard of flights changing gates, but never heard of changing terminals. Luckily you check-in early. If I had to fly between the US and Asia, Singapore Airlines definitely would be my first and only choice. I like the idea of going thru security at the gate, unlike the way the US does their security. Seems like it would be more efficient. Hopefully your experience on the flight was an exception, not their standard.

My son and I are travelling from Melbourne to London Heathrow (return) via Changi with Singapore Airlines in August this year. We are trying premium economy for the first time so looking forward to the experience.

So awesome!!! Both the vibes and the quality of your videos are exceptional, love it!!! So cool that the ULR makes the flight so comfortable and reduces jet lag… but without an air nozzle? 🤕 A bit sad to hear that the service wasn’t very up to standard this time, surprising for SQ

Thank you for this video. I have a 15+ hour SQ flight in PE coming up in a couple weeks on the A350-900 ULR from SFO. As all the throne seats were booked I got the exit row for the legroom. I expect the catering from SFO to be bad. I may ask how much an upgrade costs at check in if there are any business class seats still available.

Hi! Thanks for watching. I’m not sure the cost from upgrading to Business from Premium Economy. However, I do know I was once offered an upgrade from economy to business for $1000 at check in. I imagine it would be (hopefully) less than that! They will also show you upgrade options at check in on your phone too, so just keep an eye out. ☺️

@@jett.fueled SQ wanted $2600 for an upgrade to business class. No way. Turned out one of the throne seats was broken, so one lucky passenger got an upgrade to business class that flight.

Looking foward to my 1st Asia trip post covid w/SA in Nov in PE, had to say we alwys on BC b4 covid but now the price of BC became outrageous and the pain of inflation. We got exit row so hopefully it helps too. Nice Video. thx

Are all of their seats premium economy? When I search the website, there only show premium economy for Singapore Airlines, no standard economy??

Hi! For their Singapore to Newark and New York flights the aircraft only has premium economy and business class seats-no standard economy seats. On other routes there should be standard economy, though!

Somehow exactly the same experience from the cabin crew. Maybe it was a late departure. The carrot was delicious and if you have read comments elsewhere, the carrot cake is a winner from SQ

Not on this flight as I believe it was pretty full! But on a flight I took from Singapore to Seattle we offered upgrades ~48 hours before departure for $1000 from economy to business.

From your video, I could see that the service and meals were alright.... Maybe you are sooooo used to Business and First Class, obviously there is a big difference with Economy (Third) Class........

I wish I was so used to the premium cabins!! I fly a lot of economy on Alaska, JAL, ANA, and even Singapore. So I can see the slight nuances. I’ve experienced better service in SQ economy than on some some airlines in premium cabins! 😅☺️

But in April i will be flying Finnair in Premium Economy from Helsinki to Singapore, and then from Singapore to Osaka I am flying Scoot! I'm actually pretty excited for my flight on Scoot since i've never flown them before, haha.

As a Singaporean, the carrot cake dish looks good. It’s not really a dish that can look very good. It’s more of the taste To my eyes it looked awesome. And regarding the crew being rushed. Crew have to follow certain rest guidelines mandated by the civil Aviation authority of Singapore. You mentioned your flight was 16hrs++ which is less than the advertised 17-18hrs for this flight. Hence crew have to factor that in when doing the meal service so that the mandatory rest period isn’t disrupted. That’s probably why they seemed rushed first because they have to go for their rest in between the service. Breakfast is towards the end where the rest period is over. Hence they are more relaxed.

I flew NYC to BKK on Singapore Airlines Premium Economy (via Singapore) on March 6th, 2024. Very disappointing. It is basically an economy experience with better seats. The food was nothing exceptional (economy style food), no water in the sink bathrooms at the back of the plane to wash your hands, my TV display stopped working 4 hours into the 19 hour flight, I paid extra for a exit seat, but the seat was cramped and no storage room. Nobody could access the internet because of a server error, eventually I got access through a free voucher the head flight attendant gave me. The onboard staff were fine, but more focused on getting everyone asleep so they would have nothing to do. I have traveled Premium on United, Delta and Emirates, Singapore was such a let down. Their product is NOT recommended, overpriced and nothing special.

I really want to love SQ just as much as everyone else, and usually they’re great. But I’ve also recently had a couple mediocre experiences with them so not sure what to think of them anymore tbh. I do think they’re one of the best out there, but not sure if they are THE best.

@@jett.fueled I can deal with any airline and flight if it is short regardless of how bad it is. But when the flight is 19 hours you expect the airline has put in place passenger based processes and protocols to cater for such a long flight. Not the case with Singapore, I felt they treated passengers as a nuisance.

You can actually get this for cheap because Singapore Airlines has a deal Newark to Southeast Asia like KUL🇲🇾 BKK🇹🇭 and MNL🇵🇭. In the case of New York EWR to Manila T3 SQ21 918 combination with SQ deal active you end up paying half price of PR127 JFK Terminal 1 to MNL T1. Therefore the og longest flight in the world saves money from the 12th longest flight PR127. In return you get a better service including the possibility of using Singapore Airlines book The Cook option for the entire trip if SIN-MNL allows BtC option. *Trivia the A350ulr Registrations are actually recycled from their predecessors A340-500s* apply the half price logic to the group of three for NYC MNL SQ21/918 to MNL is $2589 vs $4100 PR127 JFK-MNL
