I travelled from East Midlands for the first time just 2 days before you did this vlog Lee! My experience was pretty good and hassle free, but I was only on a Ryanair flight to Belfast (then onto Bristol with easyJet).

I keep forgetting that the East Midlands Airport exists. Originally an RAF base, commercial since 1965, huge air cargo hub, mostly discount airlines and tour operators otherwise. That it has ONE runway only is bizarre to any American, but very common in Europe. My birthplace in Illinois, a city that’s never had over 100,000 people and is now nearer 75,000, has an airport with three runways in an equilateral triangle a mile on a side, one extended to about 8500 feet and a second to about 6800. I guess we Americans have land to waste and we love having lots of runways. Very limited airline service there, government-subsidized or there would probably be none.

You can get beer on way out of Alicante up the steps there’s a cafe

Punishment for speakerphoning on transport is listening to The Smiths on loop for the rest of your life! We no longer do coach transfers, I used to rent cars in the Canaries now we get private car transfers. Much easier - the driver is there waiting for you and you just sail past everyone. Recommended (as are airport lounges).

The calories on that breakfast are pretty much my total for a whole day now 😂

made a fuss over a couch journey from Alicante to hotel on a air conditioned couch watching the scenery no problem but drives twenty odd hours in a milk flout stopping in crap hotels hours of charging 😢

Enjoy your tea while you still can, due to average temperature rising they are having to grow tea at higher altitudes, trouble is the soils are not as suitable for growing tea bushes at higher levels, hence price will go up and quality will go down🙄 Gaz Yorkshire.

Lee, book online with Alsa Bus €15 return from Alicante to Benidorm, drops you off at the bottom of Avenida de Europa rather than going all round the houses. 👍
