Bruce Dickinson not only sings for legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden, he's an accomplished writer, fencer AND pilot. Robert got to meet and fly with Bruce, when he split the summer touring with Maiden AND flying "Ed Force One" for Iceland Express. The subject isn't "Rime of the Ancient Mariner," or even "Flight of Icarus," but travel trips from the air. And what he does about jetlag.

I did not meet him, but flew in the Iron Maiden plane from Iceland to Copenhagen in May. I thought at the time that I was possibly flying on an old tour plane since it is a discount airline...I had NO idea the story behind it until I read this article. So cool

This legend was there at the end of my tour. unfortuntely his aircraft went U/S but he flew us back in another aircraft. He was totally pilot mode and non condescending. He was there for us. I really thank him for his work and of course his music . but this person really brings himself to showing he is human. had a great time but he knows exactly where his feet are...

Reminds me of a train trip I took back in 1988/may 14 from Moncton to Halifax. Bruce was on the train, it was the beginning of the 7th Son tour & he was by himself. I sat and chatted for a while, but he said he likes to avoid using his voice even to talk on show days. I let him hear some of the Moncton bootleg I made as well. Still remember a lot of the chat we had-good memories. Can't wait to see him again in Van. 7/29!!!

Bruce Dickinson is one of the most friendly and great guys. I have just always admired what a normal, down-to-earth guy Bruce is. And he wrote the lyrics to Revelations...one of the best Maiden tunes ever. It's a great look into the the wonderful artisitc mind of this great 'air raid siren' they call Bruce Dickinson.

@lionnew It was June 2009 I was seeing Chickenfoot in London and after the concert as i was walking away from the venue i saw Adrian across the road, I went over told him i was a huge fan since the mid 80's and if it were possible to have a pic taken with him..And without even stopping he looked at me and said "No" and just kept walking...Im sure everyone has their bad days but i was so disappointed as it was my first time meeting him and he would,nt give me 10 secs to have a pic taken with me.

Im so positively confused! I mean this guy has enough money to be absolutely happy and to be ready to meet the oldness with the open arms. But he's continue doing the best he can. That is the argument that he sings not just for money, he sings for people. And piloting..I mean this is great job but it's also pretty regular. Im very proud to be fan of Iron Maiden and to be fan of such a talented person like Bruce Dickinson is. Thank you God for people like this because they give us faith and hope!

read about THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST on WIKIPEDIA. why do we as a society label these people devil worshippers and there old age and later years prove they are not?
