Screw the haters, Kristen clearly isn't Lacey, not even close, but she sings these older Flyleaf songs AMAZINGLY in HER OWN style. To be Honest some songs I like Kristen's singing better.. and that's coming from a 14 year fan of Flyleaf. Lacey had that beautiful charming voice, but Kristen really has that powerful rock voice, that's so clean.
I might like Lacey more then Kristen but Kristen is a great singer and I respect her and the newer flyleaf album is not that bad but Do I think Kristen dose Lacey justice in the older song's? No. But she is great with the newer soong's. Again I respect Lacey and Kristen. Kristen also gain my respect bc she has the gut's to go out there and try her best singing the older flyleafs song.
An amazing musician, but i feel like lacey did the songs that SHE wrote better than kristen. Kristen doesnt have the personal connection with lacey's songs like lacey did.
If they got a new singer since Kristen left. I bet people will complain that she doesn't do the songs that Kristen originally sang for Flyleaf just like Lacey before her.
Kristen isn't BAD. I just don't think she does justice to some songs like Lacey did. I'm So Sick kinda left something to be desired. I appreciate the energy though.
It's rare that a singer can walk in and own the spot vacated by someone as prominent as Lacey Sturm. Kristen May fully made Fly Leaf her -bitch,- and I was sad to see her drop out of not only the band, but the music biz as well.
She can do that. But she doesn't want to wreck her voice like Lacey wrecked hers. Lacey can't sing most Flyleaf anymore without lowering the key by at least one full step.

@@AJslayer86 well, honestly? What is being said above about Lacey in that link in not untrue. She is singing that a lot flatter and it does sound lower. Her range has narrowed.
@@MrGnastygnate I was talking about the comment the person above made that Lacey still sings the same and her voice hasn’t been wrecked. She doesn’t and it’s a lot flatter.
Lacey can't do those parts anymore, either. Because she pretty much wrecked her voice doing them. At least Kristen can still sing in upper ranges. But she quit the band. Just like Lacey. But for different reasons.
I wasn't a fan of this new singer's style, but "Sick" sounded pretty good. Different, but with a neat kind of energy. That said, I never thought her voice fit with their sound. Not mad that she left the band. I'd like to see them find someone new and continue.
Kristen May is honestly an AWESOME frontswoman. I just don't really love her with Flyleaf. I understand that bands evolve, and their new music isn't bad, but they don't seem nearly as original as they used to be.
to be fair it's a hard thing to be able to switch from singing to screaming and back. Makes me cough. much kudos lacey and nate barcalow and all those with talent to do so.

Deadlyadder Okay shut up. Seriously. Flyleaf will go strong AND is still going strong. Their new album did amazing fyi. Also, if she just sang the like 14 or so songs she made with them, fans wouldn't like that. Many fans want to hear old things too. Get over all your hate and move on. Lacey was even at one of their recent shows supporting them. You give the fans a bad name.
Stop singing the original songs. It doesn't help her become her own artist. She is good vocally, but every time I hear her sing originals all I think is karaoke or cover band. It makes you immediately compare her and Lacy, and Lacy wins every time
Well, the songs belongs to Flyleaf as a whole, Kristen was in Flyleaf back then, so she had to do it (musical business sh*t). It is very unlikely to a band play one album only in a show. But I totally agree that "I'm so sick" is a poor choice in Kristen's voice.
How is it disrespectful to Lacey? Or the band? How does your comment show any respect at all to Kristen? Can you sing at that level? God spare me from people who can't grow out of middle school attitudes telling musicians in their 30s or older how things should be done.
I never said she is not good, she is not the style Flyleaf was famous for. Now is a blah band without Lacey. Chill we are all entitled to our opinions!
It's both Kristen and Pat. Kristen is using her false chords and I'm 80% sure Pat is inhaling. Lacey would use fry, that's why it sounds so different from the original track. For sure no backing track is going on when it comes to the scream.
Using lacey scream in the song to cover yours up trash you shoulda stayed with your other band kristan may glad you left cuz you trashed it lacey sturm is and always will be flyleaf glad shes doing solo music still her music still 🔥
