Lacey Sturm the singer of this song has kept continuing as solo artist with her husband as her guitarrist and 2 friends as bass and drum players, she has a full album called LIFE SCREAMS go check it out it's amazing, same with her newest singles "The Decree" and "State Of Me" from this year, she is about to release a new sophmore solo album.

Stephanie Payne I know what you mean, friend. Sometimes it felt like no one was there and I was just praying to nothingness. After a period of doubt, I became really flustered one day and wanted to know if God really even existed, and if He did, I wanted to know which God was the real God. Long story short, I now know, truthfully and logically that Yahweh, the True God is indeed real. Even when I don't feel it, the Truth remains that God is indeed real. That's what I love about Truth, it's completely independent of my feelings lolz. By saying what I am about to say, I am not discounting your efforts in trying to find Christ because I don't know what you've gone though and it would b insanely ignorant and hypocritical of me to do so. Keep looking. Search diligently for Him because as I said before, the Truth remains, regardless of anything. With that being said, (this goes for everyone who happens to read this) no matter how bad you are feeling, know you are cared for and know you are loved on a level that no mortal being cannot comprehend. After a screaming match with her grandmother, she ended up in the back of a sanctuary, hating everyone in the room. But what happened in that room is that a pastor heared god telling him that there was a suicidal soul in the room and that reason she is alive today.
1st time I heard this, I wept. Put it on repeat and learned it pretty quickly. I'm a bass, and harmonize with her so well. And I feel what she's singing about. Silence is deafening, and nothing can hide in the light.

Eye just found flyleaf, and this song. Eye have listened to it 5 times in a row now. The lyrics resonate with me in a personal way. when she says inspired, hiding, dieing in the dark eye attribute it to my personal relationship with emotional addiction to heavier emotions. Eye have become so familiar and comfortable with intense feelings of dread, anger, distrust, isolation that in my solitude that's where eye have been found. So much so that feeling a moment of peace or joy or unity actually scares me is followed by questions if it's authentic or if eye deserve it. It's been making me ave out in ways that have been hurtful to the people eye love, which eye relate to being afraid of the silence, like my actions have pushed everyone into a space where eye can no longer be engaged with. When she says, Jesus kill me inside this. Eye feel a deep desire to be released of these patterns and also work on having a connection with god. Eye think it's so beautiful and it's really touched me.
That's the exact point dear. To accept ourselves as imperfect. To recognize we all deserve death isn't to hate ourselves, it's to come to terms with the reality we will never be perfect and to stop striving for it. Instead, we strive to do the best we can and achieve more than we ever could alone through God. It's humility and confidence, not self-hatred and pride. I think it's really sad you get the two mixed up. The "beauty" is that we accept we are imperfect and then accept salvation despite.
It would be nice to listen to Flyleaf without biblical debates. Usually those debating/arguing have no idea what they are talking about,which makes it even worse ! That goes for both sides of the argument !! Yes Flyleaf is a Christian Band does that mean we have to debate God .Even Black Sabbath has songs which Praise God,bet few people know that !! Anyway can we just enjoy the music !

I love this song, it reminds me that I used to be afraid of the dark, evil people and spirits but now I am not. I truly believe in god, have a personal relationship and I am only afraid of making the wrong choices. My opinion is religion and the Bible have been changed over time by man and I pray that God guides me to do, believe and see what is true and I don't just follow and listen to what everyone tells me is true. I love Flyleaf and can relate to their music.

Its human nature to label in attempt better understand a thing, where well as how they belong in this life. I've always felt there's no need for a "middle-man". Yeah her songs have a nice double meaning. As a Christian i kinda see the religious undertones in some of her songs more than the other ones, and in other songs i see the storytelling side more. It's interesting that some people know how to do that i guess.
In a nutshell, the bible tells many stories that show God's intense love for humanity, regardless of what wrong doings they did, and how He defended his people against their enemies. Then it shows how He sent Jesus because He loves us so much (John 3:16) that He doesn't want us to go to...you know. And because Jesus died, if we believe and accept that truth in our lives and follow His plan for us, we'll know where we go when we die. We'll be with him in a really nice, comfy place :)
Who else, when listening to this, don't have their right headphone on to just hear the words in the intro? I did that the very first time I listened to this song because that's how I usually listen to music, and am so used to it for the intro of the song. Throws me off when I listen to it with both headphones. XD
When I was a little baby I didn't really know about Christians but I had a feeling that God was watching over me one day I went to church and I had an encounter with God he told me that my plans are about to change and I he loved me so if you don't believe in God then you should because he's our savior he's our father and he's our heavenly Christ

Well I disagree. I think it's very important and largely fantastic that humans are trying to figure out those things and help each other know those things, even if it's through forceful arguing. The more we do this, the more we learn about each other and the more open-minded we become. Maybe someday we will reach conclusions. I have before, and the people I talk to have before. It's good to work out our problems. And even if it were a negative thing, it's nowhere near trivial. It's huge.
I know Flyleaf is a Christian Band and all, but, it really would be nice to refrain from speaking of such things in the comments. It sparks a lot of fights now a-days. Let's just enjoy the music and share our love for Flyleaf!

People arguing below me over religion, let's not forget that before there was ever the thought of one God, there were many gods. The Mesopotamian people had the first civilization and the first "Bible" so to speak. They believed in more than one god. Their civilization was way before Roman thoughts, and they also had more than one god. Now both religions are called mythology. Have you ever thought someday in the future the Bible will be considered mythology due to another religion? Yeah, so sh.
