we know she's a good singer that's not the problem. What it is is that her voice is very modern and everyone has it. Lacey's was different and touched us in a way that we couldn't imagine.
Dang.. went to show tonight in Houston. Fell in love with this band about 8 yrs ago. My daughter and I went tonight couldn't wait to hear Lacey and dang she is out. Props to the new lead singer great job. I really wanted to hear Lacey and feel her passion. Good luck to all the new journeys created
When I listen to this through my crappy headphones I am saddened. I wish I was there with the drums, the bass, the guitar, and their voices all, right in my face!
Kristen has a great voice. Yeah it will never be as unique as Lacey's, but she does have potential. I think her and Lacey should do a duet it would be awesome :)
I fell in love with Lacey about 8 years ago. I was watching all around me on MTV and little 13 year old me found her so attractive and had an amazing voice. Then I grew as flyleafs music grew and got to know the passion of pat and sameer an Jared and James. I felt flyleafs story. And while it did start with Lacey and i do miss and love her and her ministry. Kristen is a fantastic relationship and you can tell she is going to help continue the amazing epic that is Flyleaf. And that makes me happy
I was at this show, video doesn't do it justice, there was amazing energy from Kristen and the band, best song was broken wings, mad props for her stepping up and putting down great vocals.
Although she has a different voice, I think she sounds very good. Especially on Flyleaf's slower songs. I know people will give her crap because she sings the songs differently. But we shouldn't be surprised, she's entirely different vocalist! I miss Lacey a lot, but I'm very happy to have Kristen in the band.
Holy crap she pulled it off beautifully... I'm stunned from this performance, definitely different and doesn't express that intense emotional display that Lacey does but my god shes good, I'm a fan once again
It's hard and weird not seeing Lacey up there. I do understand when people say "it's not Flyleaf anymore." However, Kristen did a great job. She has big shoes to fill.
Just as God made everything for us and gave us his son Jesus to continue his work and touch our hearts to follow his father, Lacey did all she can for Flyleaf and Kristen is just trying to do her best to fill in for her and continue what she started. Many fans of Lacey don't like to accept change but that does not mean we can't give Kristen a chance.
Ok so.. I need to start out saying that i adore Lacey. She's honestly the only celebrity that I would say I follow regularly and want to meet one day. However.... In this song, Kristen's voice is absolutely fantastic. Good job :)
It really goes to show that a good performer doesn't necessarily enunciate or hit the notes all of the time. They just have a connection with the words that they are singing and the music they are playing. Sure, Kristen has that - but Lacey was on another level.
Honestly, I figured I would hate hearing this song without Lacey, since this is like my favorite song EVER..but Kristen has a really amazing voice...and she certainly pronounces her words a lot better than Lacey did/does.. I'm a fan of the new Flyleaf.
strong voice... but very different from Lacey's version which was very awe inspiring... but we still can't deny shes good. good job and tnx 4 carrying on flyleaf's legacy...
Ryan White is amazing. Kristen is also. Quit hating on this band, they are carrying on with Lacy's approval. She has a beautiful family now to care for and this is what she wanted. If you love her and her message move on and enjoy the music
Yeah kristen's Okay. But no Matter how Good she Is the Band won't Be the Same anymore, It's probably Going to Be a Different style.& I know Lacey has Moved on With her Life..but That doesn't Mean I have Forgotten about Her. When I would See Lacey Singing these Songs, I knew She felt It With all Her heart. She had A deep Meaning to It. I'm glad Lacey is Still singing. I know God is Going to Bless her In many Ways- 3
Just give her time.. I'm sure she'll get into the feel. We have to remember she hasn't been with them since the beginning.. We'll have to wait and see.
Kristen did better here, better than i expected actually. She's a good singer, even better than Lacey actually. Still even with that said nobody can triumph over lacey. She's just special :)
No one wants to give her a chance... and I feel bad for her.. She's trying her best to please us, and I love her tbh, but these other fans... they just want Lacey and apparently some want someone who sounds and looks like Lacey..
From what I understand Lacey is still performing, but it's more for God's Ministry. I think she wants to continue what she was doing with Flyleaf but more in depth with Christ's mission to spread the word.
Performance level in 2010 = 34% Performance level 2013 = 97% lacey got old and lost her inner rocker making the band less energetic. Lacey vocals also lagged and it was hard to understand her live. Kristen is basically like lacey in 2007. She really wants it! She shows it
I don't feel the emotion in her voice. I just see her trying to sing good. Which she does^_^ don't get me wrong but I'm not feeling it :/ am I the only one?
