Can yall please stop hating.. Im from Waco Flyleaf is from Temple this girl has a beautiful voice..I am huge fan of all of Trent Reznors music and How to destroy angels.. And I bet Trent would like this song.. So if yall are true NIN fans you should love this.. Just think about walking into a bar and seeing this little girl singing this song on karaoke.. Yall would never boo her off stage.. So seriously quit..
I don't know how anyone could hate on this performance. I suppose that they are miserable human beings who wallow around with the closed-minded voices in their heads. Everyone likes hearing a song being sung from the original artist. It's those who have no appreciation of music itself that would spew all of the negativity. I'm a Metallica fan. Would I like to hear Lacey sing "Enter Sandman"? You bet I would!! She's not James Hetfield, but she'd still slay it! Flyleaf/Lacey Sturm is SOOOOO underrated!! She's an absolutely amazing artist and puts so much of her heart and soul into her music and performances. God's got Lacey! Check out the new album "Kenotic Metanoia" when you can. It's the best!
I love her voice. I feel like it's really well suited for this song, and I love the way they handled it altogether. One of the best NIN covers I've heard.
You're wrong bro the song is exactly the way it was meant to be from Nine Inch Nails (Trent Reznor) it's not the original the original is always going to be the way it's meant to be
@@elimtevir1 I mean isn't that what a good cover should do though? The musician should keep parts of the original sound but still make it their own in some way.
People should be happy that other bands cover their favorite artists songs. For good or bad. It reminds us that who we love is influential, and that other people have the respect to pay homage. Trent Reznor is one of the most talented artists in the last 25 years - of course all these other artists are going to want to play the songs that they grew up on. So respect them for it.
náhh.. i really like this song.. like really.. but with this moaning crap.. only the guitar makes it bearable,., the cover of the pixies - where is my mind by placbo .. that was accurate .. remakes and covers suck.. mostly..
No it’s not I’m 18 years old and this is some of the newer songs I listen to but I still love it there’s still some young people that can appreciate older music shit I listen to lead belly and even older shit
I don't know how they do it without busting their face with the guitar. She rocks this. Never listened to NIN. I listened to the original. In my opinion, Lacey slays it better than the original.
never heard of this band before but as a huge NIN fan, i think this is an amazing cover, completely their own whilst not taking anything away from the original and the frontwoman has an incredible voice and presence. I gotta check out some of their other stuff. x
The best cover performance is always remembering the original artist and the effect the song had on you.its a tribute to their legacy and I think flyleaf definitely kept that in mind.Trent Reznor would be proud I think.
Music is so subjective. I love the way they make this classic their own. Definitely feel the emotion intended in this song in this interpretation. They did it justice. Mad props.
NIN is my favourite band and are sacred to me. This song is extremely special to me for a number of reasons. Even so, as wary as I was of this cover, it is not bad at all! Which is saying a lot. Well done Flyleaf. Wow.
I am a huge NIN fan so when flyleaf covered the sense of anticipation of hearing lacey say "Fading fucking reminder" was pretty intense and then she just didn't... I love her cover to be honest but I think about what it could have been if she hadn't of censored it.
I love both versions of this song for different reasons. Neither is "better" to me. I know Lacey understands the underlying emotion and desperation in the song.
As a hardcore NIN fan, I can see why some might dislike this. They have a right to their opinion, however I disagree. I look for covers that make the song their own, and Flyleaf accomplished this while having what looked to be a great time.
As a survivor I will say that art in particular is the universal communication just as it is the universal filter concerning those who chose to kill or molest at all for that matter instead of maintaining honor of their self. Connotation & sobriety are all it takes, gives & could ever be. What is it? Love.
Artists today just don't understand that.... but ig in reality they don't have to.... All the ones getting rich is the bs like Nicki Minaj, 69, those cringe island boys, and other shit rappers. But I guess in all honesty I'd sell out to for millions to feed my family, But luckily I can do that without millions.
I still recall the taste of your tears Echoing your voice just like the ringing in my ears My favorite dreams of you still wash ashore Scraping through my head til i don't want to sleep anymore You make this all go away You make this all go away I'm down to just one thing And i'm starting to scare myself You make this all go away You make this all go away I just want something i just want something i can never have You always were the one to show me how Back then i couldn't do the things that i can do now This thing is slowly taking me apart Grey would be the color if i had a heart Come on tell me You make this all go away You make this all go away I'm down to just one thing And i'm starting to scare myself You make this all go away You make this all go away I just want something i just want something i can never have In this place it seems like such a shame Though it all looks different now, I know it's still the same Everywhere i look you're all i see Just a fading reminder of who i used to be Come on tell me You make this all go away You make this all go away I'm down to just one thing And i'm starting to scare myself You make this all go away You make this all go away I just want something I just want something i can never have I just want something i can never have
Wow. I never really got into Flyleaf, ive heard some songs. But wow. This popped up on my recommendations. I didnt think it was gonna be this great. Man im so impressed. Thats a badass cover.
I thought she did a great job myself, VERY emotive, and hows the band? They go NUTS! Done NIN justice for sure. Better than some POP band doing this song... isn't it?
All these years later, I still love this cover so very much. A big NiN fan, and a big Flyleaf fan, and man… They knocked this one outta the amphitheater..
I don't understand why people must criticize so harshly when people make covers of songs. I adore her voice, and her presence and what not. And I also enjoy the original version by NIN. When someone covers a song it's not supposed to be identical to the original, it's nice to hear it changed up and altered to fit that person's voice, musical abilities and so forth.
I am a hardcore NIN fan YET i feel more emotion from her in this cover. Being 100% honest {here we go with ppl being pissed lol ] i love this more than the original
No way in hell. Have you seen the Still version or the Woodstock ‘94 performance? This song is very dear to my heart and I feel nothing when I hear this.
Things I just learned after all these years; one of them is that Flyleaf did a cover of this song and goddamn, I think it's fucking beautiful and brilliant!
a different energy brought to it but both music and vocals captured the feeling of the original song which is more important than anything else when doing a cover. i had never heard flyleaf before but after seeing this i will definitely check them out, thanks!
my teenage years on prozac... thankfully nin made me feel not alone. This is an amazing live cover with guitars instead of synthesizers, which is technically bitchin. badass
I own every Halo ever produced. This is 1 of my top 10 fave by NIN & this is the best cover I have ever seen!. Glad I stumbled across it. My lord the power in her voice @ the end "I Just" Boom!
