In this video we take a look at the Flymo 1200R Robot Lawnmower. These things are not cheap, but if they do what they say on the tin its going to be a big time saver.

Great video mate - really nicely done and informative - loved the time lapse. Am tempted in getting one of these, but like you I keep kicking myself for not jumping on the Amazon lightning sale a year or so ago when the mower was down at £300 ish! Couple of quick questions: 1. What Drone do you have? Quality was excellent! 2. For the scene towards the end, did you use a handheld gimbal or the drone? Nice cinematic effect following the mower around 3. How long did the installation take you in total would you say? 4. I'm trying to think of the long term cost - is there any maintenance required? Perhaps machine service / blades sharpening or even general clean up in case of it cutting in the rain? 5. Have you noticed the grass is a "healthier" / greener colour now than before? Supposedly one of the benefits of these machines is that the clippings are re-absorbed and are actually nutritious... Great video and you're clearly a tech-lover so you've gained a subscriber!

Hey Kamran, thanks for subscribing and leaving a comment. I have no regrets with buying this mower, of course it would have been better to get it cheaper, but still happy :) 1 - I was using a DJI Mavic here - I have a few drones and will be some more videos coming on this. 2 - I used a mixture of the drone and DSLR. I have a handheld gimbal but didnt use it here. 3 - Total install is probably a couple of hours. 4 - Only maintenance is replacement / sharpening of blades and a quick wipe down and brush of the mower. 5 - It is looking healthier, but I am also spending the time I would be mowing with weeding as the lawn is a right mess. Then putting down some additional seed and fertilizer.

I am going to do a follow up video soon, but no particular tips really as its working amazingly. I have not had to do anything to it, it just does its job rain or shine. I am really happy with it.

Great video ! Thanks ! I have a question : Did you ever consider sticking the perimeter cables under the garden by using a spade and then sticking then cable into the groove few centimetres under ?

Yes I have considered it, but as I have not yet had many issues its effort I cant be bothered with to be honest :)

Good news Tim. If you are in the UK once you have setup you probably want to pack it away again for the winter after testing due to the frost season now. I am doing a winter video next week.

Great video. Unless i completely missed you stating this, how well does it work around the edges?or do you still need to get a strimmer out once a week?

Great video, thanks for posting. I got one of these mowers but haven't installed it yet. Have you had any issues with docking or leaving the dock? I would like to set up mine in a corner like yours but the manual does not seem to recommend this.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. I have had no issues with leaving or docking, just make sure you have at least 1 meter of cable going straight and you should be fine. One thing to note, the mower does follow the cable, but tracks to the side of it, not on top of it. So keep this in mind if you have obstacles, as I moved mine a little to dodge a tree :)

Hi thanks for video, very informative! About to pull trigger on new Easilife, was wondering how long the power cable was for base, as concerned about reaching my outdoor plug. Cheers

Hi Jamie, been a while since I did my install so the honest answer is I dont recall. However, mine is about 3M from the plug, and there is a fair amount left over. So would guess 5 - 6 M in total, but its a total guess now.

Hello, I noticed the Mower is around £424 on the Amazon Prime Sale today, you mentioned it may have been around £380 when you looked when the video was made, in your experience could the price drop in the next 32 hours? Do you think £424 is a good deal. I actually do not need the Mower yet but was thinking of getting it in the near future.

£424 is a really good price, sometimes I have seen it cheaper with 3rd parties but they are often scams. £439, was the previous best price on Amazon ever in the past so this is great now.

Is an outside socket essential for the docking station?

Maybe not essential, but somehow you need to get power to the docking station on a permanent basis.

Is it me or does the grass look the same length as when it started?

On first installation its done on an already cut lawn, so the cutting is minimal. The purpose is to maintain height. There is a follow up video coming that shows how the grass has been kept at the same length but areas no cut have grown significantly. I have not had to mow the lawn since installing, its great :)

Its going great, aside from doing a quick strim of the edges I have not had to mow the lawn myself since it was installed. I plan to do a quick follow up video in a few weeks time.

Hi Beth, yes I watched the DVD and I did some referencing of the manual, all pretty straight forward. A month on and its FANTASTIC, I have not mowed the lawn since, but it looks nice and neatly mowed, I just had to strim the edges. I will do a follow up in a few more weeks, as I have recently changed the settings to only mow Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so want to see if this is sufficent for my size lawn (around 280 sq M).

I dont have the specific dimensions, but as you can see in the video its a reasonable size. At guess from memory its about 60 cm long, 40 cm wide and 30 cm high, this is a complete guess though.
