I miss this America. When you went OUT to play video games and other people. And you stood NEXT to the person you played against! That was social networking.
Christ, tell me about it!!! Look at all the beautiful, happy people enjoying a night out on the town. Share a large pizza, have a few drinks, go home and fuck yourselves to sleep. Too bad feminism and the internet had to go and fuck it all up.
That is one of the things I missed about living in Japan. Arcades are everywhere. I saw some 60 year old guys playing on a Street Fighter arcade console. It’s amazing.
Videogames, from real social ( arcades ) to virtual social ( PS, Xbox, etc. ). My mum wanted to kill me cause always into arcades. Today I'd pay my son to go out from that damn room and go to an arcade.
Someday, love will find you Break those chains that bind you One night will remind you How we touched and went our sperate ways If he ever hurts you True love won't desert you You know I still love you Though we touched and went our separate ways
This would have been my dream had I been born 20 years earlier. I would have opened my own video arcade. Through the 70's, 80's, and 90's, they were a very popular place to hang out. That was until the game consoles and PCs caught up to what a video game cabinet could do.
The real arcade experience. Home game consoles of that era, were a far cry from that of their arcade counterparts. Going to the arcade was so much more than just playing the games..... It was an experience. Locally, we had Tilt & Electronic Experience. Good Times to be sure.
I just got back into gaming (vintage) for the first time in 25 years. A few weeks ago I bought a pandora saga console with all my old favourites arcade games installed on it. All of the double dragon's and golden axe's. X-men, TMNT & TMNT turtles in time, Simpsons, final fight, aliens, aliens vs predator, punisher, moon walker, NBA jam, NHL hockey, streets of rage, mario, Phoenix. You name it, it's on there. Best £90 I ever spent.
It's funny to think my parents were into arcade games at some point, and they're both 60. My mom had an obsession for pinball, and both she and my dad played Pac-Man, Tron, and Frogger a lot when those games came out.
ꜱ ɪ ᴋ ᴏ Yep. The song is called “Only Solutions”. A slightly different version of this song is on their Frontiers album, which also has their classic song, “Faithfully”.
@@livinghistory9701 yeah not a whole lot, some others are off watching rap crap , mean while iam sort of a loner listening to 80s and 90s movies and music!!!
Fan theory, the female worker at the end of this clip that says "Come on Flynn." That could be Jordan Canas, Flynn's wife in Betrayal & other stuff from Legacy. It could make sense how they met.
I remember seeing some of it and Star wars in the 80s before I was ten and not being interested later in life I was very interested so great to have things to look forward to in the future
I've been working on a story that takes place a few years after Tron Legacy and follows a similar storyline. But the coincidence that made me write it was that the first names of my characters Lora and Alan Jett (who happen to be superheroes) coincide with Lora and Alan Bradley here!
I used to go to a place like this in N.Y.C called Chinatown Fair (which has been relocated to Brooklyn and is now called Next Level Arcade). Man, the body odor in that place was insufferable! (There was no ventilation, either!) Take note: Socially awkward gamers are _not_ the most hygienic people you'll come across.
Things were so much better back in the day now all kids do is play world of gay craft and try to get there gamers score up on xbox live. This was back when games were fun to play
@S0ryiu Wrong. OpenGL was well in use in 1982 and there were many prototype games that never hit the market because of cost. Do some research noob. ~Your Dad
@S0ryiu Incorrect again. Please...you've already embarrassed yourself trying to argue with others, don't compound it with more errors which only serve to emphasize your ignorance on the subject. The game does not have any effects which require texture shaded polygons. In fact, texture mapping was developed in the 70's...not that it matters since it is not needed here. PS. Using voxel based algorithms is simply a different abstract approach for creating virtual 3d shapes.
@S0ryiu RIght. Well I was....and I have to agree with the others...your original statement was rather asinine. No kidding, that the fake game was using graphics a bit more advanced than was seen at the time. That's pretty darn standard in....well just about every fake video game in any movie from the 80's and 90's... Of course, you are somewhat off anyways, because within just a year or so, I and other gamers were enjoying sophisticated games like I Robot in the arcades.

@Garother You make a good point that I will not deny but the nick name comes from me doing modifications on original xbox systems to play the original games for instance I could probably put all the games found in flynn's arcade on an original xbox build a cabinet and put FLYNN'S up top in red neon and modify my own cut scenes and music along with the controls actually that sounds like a good idea I do own a classic game store and that would look awesome Thanks for the inspiration!!!
@S0ryiu Incorrect. I Robot used a polygon system, that would have been very, very apparent to you if you had ever played it, as the design of the game was quite transparent in their use. Please don't make things up.
It is funny to note how many of Flynn's employees are playing games rather than helping his patrons. Heh Heh. I always loved this scene from Tron as I have always wanted a retro arcade like this.
@xboxchodemaster i dont understand your nick then. still people will always say "the past was better" i expect the present gamers say something similar about the future gamers. nvm everything changes with time
@Garother I guess thank you I have already started construction on the cabinet and it's gonna be awesome it should make my classic game store the best one in Illinois never would have thought of it without your comment so thanks
It's funny how our traditions of socializing are crumbing every generation that passes.First it was television, then this kind of arcade which would have been considered anti social by the old folk of the time.Compared to gaming now a days this would have been healthy.
