Nice video. As far as the Fail Safe operation, I think you could see it work by accelerating the motor and while it's running, cut off the transmitter power. The motor should stop with Fail Safe operational, but likely continue without Fail Safe, as your RC goes into the sunset, never to be seen again. In my experience, the Exponential setting usually produces a more gradual reaction from the steering servo, making steering much more controllable and produces less oversteering.
Thank you so much for the great in-depth instruction on programing this transmitter. Mine came from the manufacture/supplier with the throttle programed backwards. Push forward for throttle and pull backwards for brake (maddning). I knew someone could help me change it. It was you. Thanks again.
One way I check the failsafe is to power everything on, and throttle the motor up a bit, hold it, and turn the Tx off. If the failsafe is working, the motor will spool down, if it's off, the motor will stay spooled up.
I just found out how to use the feel safe. With the petrol motors there is no reverse so I just held the brakes full on and press the feel safe. Now when I witch the receiver off it got to the position where the brake was when I press the feel safe button. So with electric u do get a reverse and the best thing it to hold the brakes or centre the motor so it don't run anywhere and press the feel safe. But ur video was very useful. And thanks how I made my feel safe.
Thanks made it look so easy.great info. Sure helped me alot .also the reciever plug ins are labeled s+- some of the plug in are wired differently make sure black to black red to red on the plug in
A quick question ? I will be using 3 separe boats on this transmitter. THE main system will be using the STOCK receiver that came in the box , with the GT3 B. HOW do I bind the additional receivers , prior to installing in two other boats? THEY are the Waterproof version of the STOCK receiver. IS IT a simple task , of choosing the MODEL # on the Transmitter , and repeating the first process? I've never tried this , before? Thanks for great videos , as they are VERY informative .
you need to set up each reciver on its own channel number the instructions cover all this for you its as simple as bind each new toy and save each to its own channel this way you can also program the radio for the specs for each rc
So can it bind to say the stock receiver in my scx24, WPL C24, and not need to buy 7 of their brand of receivers? I have 8 mini crawlers and need a remote that can bind all...
plain and simple likey no it wont there is a reason that we have Different radios and recievers how ever i have foind that fly sky is compatiable with some if nt all HSP radios and recievers as well as Redcat as red cat and hsp are pretty much the same machines
I just purchased an Exceed Maxstone 8 crawler with this Tx/Rx setup. I like it so far, but am having trouble getting it set up. In your video what are the arrows that are above the end point percentage? I noticed on mine going through the various settings, those arrows will pop up. Great video, and any help will be greatly appreciated. Where can someone get an ESC for 2 brushed motors? I know exceed offers them, but I was curious if any other manufacturers have them.
red cat has the dual brushed motor esc's as for your question on the radio i dont know i sold the radio long time ago someone else needed it more then i did, but i think you can download the manual for it
Don't know if you can answer this question but I'll ask anyway. I have been given an OLD electric truck (2 WD) pretty large, without transmitter, to see if I would like to explore this area of the r/c hobby (I fly planes)..... this old truck has a brushed motor.... I purchased this transmitter and receiver to control the truck but have run into a problem. The steering is working perfect... the motor however just keeps running when I power up. When I move the throttle about mid way the motor stops and then if I continue moving the throttle in the same direction the motor will reverse.... good and bad news.... good news is the motor works, bad news is I cannot adjust it so that with the throttle in the N position the motor will not stop.... I have tried adjusting the end point and the exp without success. Being a brushed motor perhaps the "normal" way of doing things does not apply. Any thoughts? THANK YOU!
there should be a small hole in speed control for an adjustment pot it uses a small flat screwdriver to adj the ZERO point of the speed control. you can adj the forward throw and brake engagement point on on the speed control itself (very old school mid 80's)then adj the transmitter to fine tune . hope it helps
Hi there, great video! It was really helping me out well but I stumbled over one major issue: i bound it and all but my steering only works when I move the throttle, no throttle : no servo reaction at all. Also when i hit the throttle very short, the motor keeps on going. Have i overlooked something or is it maybe a faulty tx?
@@KevinMillard68 hey kev, thanks a lot for the immediate answer. I found out that if you bind a new model to a new model number on the tx, it keeps the settings used before, even on other model numbers. I just had to turn the dual rate and exp to the standard values to get the car working. After that I was able to alter them again without any negative results. Had this problem before with same tx and similar rx. So, thx!!
Thank's for the Video on binding this reciever, I have 2 of them and was trying to bind one to a Redcat TX as per Redcats website said it would work on my Grandsons XBE but to no luck.. anyhow I need to know if you can mix Channel 1 and 3 for rear steering on a Crawler? If not then I suppose I could sell them, Thank's
iam going to say nope you can not mix them what you need is a 4 channel radio , the red cat 2 and 3 channel radios are the same as the fly sky that i do know and does work
you can not do that with any reciever with out a splitter and you also have to run a seperate bec and disable the becs on your ecs as far as i know but on this system no way
I've got the same transmitter and trying to use it on an SCX10 with a taser 60 amp brushed speed control. I've got the exponential's set to +100% and the throttle is still way too touchy and sensitive. -100% makes it go full throttle immediately. I need the throttle to be softer at the lower range of trigger movement
Anyway of swopping the throttle and steering servo channels over without changing the plugs around ? As for some reason when I do that the esc doesn't let the motor run correctly
Stupid question. I just got setup on this. Now right is left/left is right and I’m assuming my drive functions are backwards since it’s faster in reverse. What did I get backwards here?
you have to reverse throttle and steering controls on the radio to get it to work porperly with your rc not all rcs use the same setups because of the escs and servo location steups
if your using it on a differnt rc then use a different channle this way you setup each cars settings specific to each reciever other wise you can do as you wish
Question I have rovan Baja b5 I have the same transmitter and receiver when my car go about 25 feet the fail safe comes and stop is there away to turn it off?
Can i use this with an arrma kraton and the receiver already in it or do i have to switch and use the receiver that comes with the transmitter? thanks i am thinking about purchasing a new transmitter and this seems pretty good.
I think the motor only keeps spinning when you lose the signal while you pressing throttle. So try turning failsafe of, then give gas und while you are holding gas turn of the radio and the motor should spin even is the transmitter is turned of. Please ignore my mistakes. I like your videos :)
I finally got around to setting up a second vehicle on this transmitter. I think I may have gotten duplicate receivers, or maybe it's supposed to work like this. I can control both vehicles with either profile. I assumed that switching from one profile to another would disconnect the transmitter from the previous vehicle. I purchased two extra receivers when I bought the Transmitter. Is it normal to be paired to two receivers on the same profile. It's not much of an issue since I would never be trying to drive both vehicles at the same time, but it can be an annoyance if I forget to turn the first vehicle off after the battery runs down, and then it recovers enough to respond to the transmitter when I switch to the second vehicle.
yes is supposed to work like that what changes is the profile setups for each car/truck you set up so if you use dfferent programing for each one that is affected where as yes they can both run at the same time
@@KevinMillard68 Kevys Rc & Music Thank You. I kind of figured that out this morning through some experimenting but it's reassuring to hear from another user that it works that way. I had set the end limit on the steering on my first vehicle, and was about to do make the end adjustment on the second one. I tried the second one using the first profile and it was right where I wanted it, so I went to the second profile and started out setting it to the same percentage. This is actually a very nice feature. I haven't raced in awhile, but some of the tracks I used to race at, alternated weeks between Oval and off road. I could set up a profile for each style of racing. Now if only I could set up a Shock and Spring Profile. Thanks again for responding.
I am assisting a friend who has upgraded to this radio. How do I calibrate the radio to match the ESC so that when the throttle is neutral on the transmitter the motor is stopped? thanks in advance Allen
you need to read the manule for the radio it will tell you how to program everything you need youlll need to go into the throttle seetings and start at the 0 point and adjust as needed untill the esc does nothing when your finger is off the trigger
@@KevinMillard68 Thanks for getting back so quickly, I can adjust the throttle trims no problems but it is just out of range and as a result the motor still spins, albeit slowly. I cannot find anything further in the manual about it. Any thoughts?
no idea dude i just used regular batteries in it i wont use rechageable unless its part of the unit otherwise you dont get full power to the radio and that will not go well in the end
Kevys Rc & Music got it on my vxl 1/16 summit idk if u rember me kev i was the one who wanted covert there l959 to traxxis lol but now have a summit soooo love it
It's my understanding the auto brake only really applies for electrics right? like, how quickly the electric motor brakes at 0 throttle. would you use it for a nitro car?
you can use the radio on nitro or electric as for the brake function iam sorry i dont know if that also applies to the nitro as i only run electric cars
+Kevys Rc & Music I have the radio, and I have mainly nitro cars. I was just curious as to the use of the ABS. Was I correct that it controls the auto-braking of electric motors?
i can not tell you exactly how it works as i have never used the function nor did i have the manual for the radio i got it used , i never noticed any thing different about how the radio deal's with the brakes other then its a bit slower then any other radios which hit the brakes much faster
I CAN HELP ON THE ABS ISSUE IT WORKS THE THE SAME FOR ELECTRIC OR NITRO . When the abs system is turned on it pulses the voltage to the signal wire for channel 1(the middle wire in the plug from the servo for nitro or the speed control for electric) during braking, keeping from locking up the brakes and skidding out of control. works very well on my fifth scale 2-stroke and my 4wd modified touring car i haven't noticed a big difference in either my 2wd truck or buggy. i got my first gt3b with my 2wd fifth scale at 3 foot long and 43 pounds you don't want to be skidding across the track at 50 mph and taking out other cars thats gets expensive and makes enemies QUICK ! the abs pulses the brake for a more controlled deceleration. on the touring car it's the same except for high bite tracks where it makes life challenging. i've since bought several more FS3GTB systems I think they are certainly as good if not better than any 3-400.00 dollar system out there In fact they(flysky)supply base model 2.4ghz radio's for Redcat,Helion.ECX and even ,some Associated and a few losi RTR. They are a major player in the sub assembly supply chain to big box company's like Futaba,Spektrum and Graupner. hope this helps
What is the name of the newer receiver that can bind to different transmitters? And what is the name of the older one? I have one of them, I just don't know which one it is. Mine is called fs-gr3c
I'm new to rc and i got an 1:8 scale buggy, it has tge fs-gt3b controller and hobbyking receiver. I want to know if these will bind or not? Thanks in advance
what gear it came with will work with it as for the radio in my video working with a hobby king reciever i have no clue man no one does till they try it and see what happend but these radios do come wiht their own recievers i know that most hsp recivers work with this radio because they are fly sky radios that come with most hsp trucks
I just bought a used traxxas revo 3.3 with this particular remote. The issue I'm having is when I want to go left I have to turn the dial on the remote clockwise and when I wanna go right I must turn the dial counterclockwise...🤔
Kevys Rc & Music Thanks so much I pick up random controllers. They have been working on my 27 MHz. I just can’t get the 2.4 ghz to pair. Thanks saved me some $$$
i wish you would have had a car on and showed trim adjustment etc also that would have been good... i think my trim stopped working ...but not sure since you had no model in your demo...again maybe its my radio went bad since i have not used in several years.thanks
Mine has a slight delay to it, like when u go to turn its not as On it like reactivate after i had it all setup n my ESC programmed i asked 1 of the higher up racers at my track if they could test n tell me if it feels good. He said yea all accept that delay or w.e. Do y'all think its just BC hes used to using $2-300 TX ??
Okay how do you bind the esc? I can’t get the motor to drive? I have the steering working but can’t get the motor to drive? Do I need the bind plug in for that?
you need to bind the reciever to the radio then plug your esc to channel 2 hook up your battery to the esc and thats it other then your steering channel on channel 1
@@driscollboys8671 just your ESC goes into channel 2 of the reciever and the steering into channel 1 the radios a 10 car you can program in aka channles so pick one fo rthe car you want give it a name etc.
i coverd all that in the video might want to watch the video again , you will need a Reciver for each RC you want to program in you can also only use the recievers made for this radio tho all recievers will be the same you will programm the specs you want for each rc you setup in the radio
Hello I used this setting for my 1/5 scale 32 cc will it move now ? 😆 otherwise I’m going to give up ! I am so upset that I am not good with these things
yup you can i do it all the time there are many channels now they all bind the same so you just need to setup your trims endpoints etc. on each channel for each machine just switch to that one that you need with its setups before turning on the car or boat etc .. so it sets the right settings for each one,, with the fs gt2 radio you can do the same except you have to manually change every time for your trims etc. this radio will allow you to have presets already so one you set it up you're good to go
Question: taking the electric car with this station at a very slow steady rate, I see that randomly, it hits like a small gas strike and returns to the slow rhythm ... what can it be? It happens to me with two cars, different variators, different receivers, same station
With this radio, can I buy multiple GT3B receivers and put them in different cars. I'm understanding I just program the radio for each different receiver, is that right?
bro i use a spectrum SPMXSEM0501 esc motor combo and trying to bind it to shit is literly imposible. the second i bind it it randomly beeps and the throtle just fucking stops. this i the only video that could help thank you
you need to use the bind plug to start with other wise its not goingto bind to the radio but you also have to hold the bind button same time you turn ont he radio the instructions for the radio are very clear how to do this
can you do a steering reversing video because my one is reversed and when you push forwards turns servo left ans push it down it goes right I need help
I'm working this out right now. Lights can run on ch3 but they won't turn off with the button. To do this, find a "receiver controlled on/off switch" on Ebay or wherever. There's a few RU-vid videos about it floating around
@@ljmowery8189 are you using rechargeables if so ditch them for reall AA batteries and only use durcell or engizers they are the only 2 brands that work properly in it
Funny thing is the the endpoint for the throttle goes up to 120% but is at stock 100%. I always wondered why my car was so slow. This is the updated program version.
try setting the throttle range there are instructions on traxxas website that might help if not well you have a manual for the radio it should tell you stuff on there for that, i have never used this radio on the summit my self but on many other rcs an never had such and issue my self
well id say give it a try and see what happenens, if you after the steering part then it might just be the way in which the servos are mounted and of course youll need a y adapater to have both on channel 1 which is your steering channel but due to the extra volts and amps your drawing mostly the amps tho youll need to bay pass your escs onboard bec and put in and external bec about 7 amps or more depending on the draw of the servos and other stuff in the truck of course
Me to lol I got 2 km bajas I'm putting back together and a custom en converted losi lst2 I'm in the middle of just bought the gt3c don't really see much difference other than looks and lipo
you have to program it if its not working right for you ,, read the manule it will tell you what you need to know you also might have to calibrate your esc as well..
