Range test just reduces the transmitting power (dec=decreased) Common on all air radios. You would walk a determined distance from your receiver and see when you loose signal, without having to walk super far. That scales up to full range.
truly packed with features, including two-way communication for monitoring of battery voltage. personally I'm getting one for its ability to quickly bias the throttle and brake separately for my nitro truck. although many transmitters can do this, the g7p can be set up to do it as quickly as my old 27mhz analog HI/LO volume knobs
I just bought one, and when testing it out I found the response for the steering was sluggish. I changed servo frequency, I changed servos, still was draggy and glitchy around the neutral point. Although this radio has a lot of programing ability, it also has some drawbacks. I did not like how the main screen would not show the sensor info for attached sensors. I did not like the cheap plastic construction. I understand it's only a $75 radio so I would have accepted that. But the steering issue was unacceptable. For a rock crawler it probably would not matter. But for a faster on road car, or a FE boat, it was not acceptable. So I returned the radio.
The one surprise i got with this new radio is that the RX that comes with it is NOT SVC capable and there isn't currently an RX available for it that is. I felt more than a little let down when I got my G7P and realized this to be the case.
I had the Gt3, gt5 sold off and wanted to now see what is available again years later and looks like (for me) the GT5 I should repurchase. and will be a GT5. thanks for the review really appreciate it helping to make my decisions easier. FISH
Hey Fran, Mario from Knights Ferry Crawlers here again. I just heard BARC is meeting, and greeting at Knights Ferry, for a crawl session April 2nd at 9:00am. I am not on Facebook, so you’ll have to check out the details, but we’ll hope to see you there.
An other bull eyes from FlySky! I remember in the '80/'90 an ACOMS radio 2 channel, AM with long antenna, 8 AA batteries (NiCad with memory problems) in Italy was about 150 $ and it was the entry level. And I don't tell about Futaba, Sanwa and the queen Multiplex for those you had to go to the bank for a robbery...... Ciao!!
GT5 does mixing on channel 3 so that's not new. GT5 is what I use for my 4WS rigs. Got my 1st GT5 with my Gen8 Axe and Got a second one so I can bring a friend out with another RC from my team if they don't have a driver. The RX talk back is nice for telemetry information, heat and battery info is key, speed would be even better. for $19 RX I would be amazed if it had an accelerometer.
My complaint with the gt5 was you couldn't change switch positions and channel assign, this has been added to this radio so am keen to give it a go. Cheers mate 👍
yeah not being able to assign the giro to a channel with a dial is just annoying,no adjustment on the fly ,even a 30$ dumbo has that. Can this do that?
on my gt5 i put a lipo battery and instead of removing it every time i need to charge i notched a small notch in the battery tray with my dremel so my balance port sticks out and i use myt stock scx24 charger for my remote...i wish my htrc t400 duo would charge with balance plug only but i havent figured that out yet...great review
I wish they'd review the Sanwa M17, Fly Sky Noble N4, and N4 Pro... :P Maybe a comparison with the receivers.. seems you can get telemetry like battery voltage, motor heat, etc.. although it seems these tend to be proprietary features that require specific hardware in order to work properly.
Mine didn't come with the foam wheel or any of the accessories you got. Kind of sucks cause i partially bought it after seeing all the stuff you got but I haven't used it yet so it may still be worth the money. Thanks for another good review.
I always loved Flysky radios but the one thing I really hated is the non-existant backwards compatibility. Almost every new radio means a new protocol. So I will stick with my GT3B and their lovely 5$ receivers.
So the ia6 rx wont work with it? They support the i-BUS feature. Id love to b able to mix a few ch, but the idea of having to buy new rxs is aggrevating. Granted, the g7p rx is about the same price as the ia6 or the bs6
@@khrisyeet8022 lmao your comment was read by me ( probably only) and I’d like to thank you for adding to the algorithm for this channel. And I get it you have trust issues. So flysky also answers this on the website it’s the same answer the fine gentlemen provided before but I would trust the source not someone who’s done a review on it also. Btw the noble rx work with the g7p just fine. I know you didn’t ask but I can only imagine how your blood is pumping right now just waiting to pounce on someone dare help you without your say so.
I know you'll think I'm nutty yet I installed a 6volt power connector into my Traxxas QTI Transmitter. I feed that with a RYOBI 300 Watt Inverter with an advanced level indicator battery. I use a small 6v 500mW power supply. I realize sometimes the next move is in the hands of the enthusiast. Elvis is Alive.
Timely. We're looking for a multi-vehicle Tx for my wife, who's new to the hobby. I like the 7 ch capability. She'll like the low $ receivers. Thanks for the review!
I purchased the RedCat Everest 10 and I also have a reverse steering kit. Will this transmitter let me control reverse steering as I need it? I don't want reverse steering engaged all the time. Also if you know how to set it up on the transmitter could you make a video please?
Great looking product! Love this kinda content! I would like to see another servo test on a NHX Max6 servo... Stats claimed on it are insane!! Put it to the test!!
Looks to be a worthy replacement for the GT5. I would like to see a rechargeable battery like the one that comes with the GT3C. And, please Flysky, please, a detailed, easy to read manual! Curious to see if you experience dead zones and/or latency issues?
Yeah, if you want to change, and effectively bin, all of your RX's too. I'm hoping for some backwards compatibility but I'm not seeing any evidence of it.
@@TheTruthHz it only uses the ant protocol receiver so won't work with anything else I does have some crazy receivers with ESC and light control inbuilt
Thank you for making this video 👏🏼 It would be great if you can review the King Motor 1/7 WRC C3 (Ralky Car). I have one that came with this transmiter and it’s awesome 😉
On a crawler like the Danchee Ridgerock, with an appropriate receiver swap, would it be possible with this controller to program it to be able change the different steering modes? Rear wheel steering, crab, etc.
Thumb dial AND a 3-position momentary and another thumb button?? Get your Class3 rigs ready with 4-wheel-steering, servo winch, and dig 🙌🙌🙌. I love that the switches can be assigned to different channels
since i replaced the voltage regulator with a more efficient one tripling the battery life of my gt3b it works good enough, i just wished i could find the compatible receivers with the gyro, can never find any from US seller once in a while a few will show up from a china or hong kong with a 4 to 6 week shipping time which is too long......
I'm not clear what protocol this runs on. I was disappointed that the GT-5 used a fixed protocol, meaning I couldn't bind it to all my AFHDS RX's (I've 15 of them) and I need to run AFHDS 2A RX's instead. Does this have any backward compatibility?
Disappointing it comes with a cheapy plastic wheel as standard and it's not compatible with the older (and much cheaper) receivers. I think many people would be happy to pay a bit more for a higher quality feel.
Looks like a great transmitter. My GT5 has been my go to transmitter for years. However, I love the FS-BS6 receiver. I wish, or hope, that this transmitter would work with AFHDS 2A protocol so I can use my older receivers in all my cars.
Dont know how i didnt even know this remote existed & i was looking last yr for good radio set how this sliped by maybe it just looked to good to b true something i almost got the gt but doesnt or can have range issues & thats what i was going for so went with radiolink for telemetry & range but much rather have got this great vids man
Question about the amperage capabilities of receivers in general. Do you or anyone else know how many amps a receiver can supply? Ive never liked the added wiring associated with becs so I've always purchased escs based on how many amps they're able to deliver through the internal Bec. The other day I noticed one of my flysky receivers had a 2 amp marking but I can't find anything in the specs about amps. It would be a shame for me ESC to be capable of 6 amps whilst me receiver was only capable of 2 amps.
Great video, well presented. I am looking at purchasing the G7P .. but am seeing a number of Receivers available.. FS-R7P, FS-R7D for example - which is best? or suited to Scale Crawling.. I can guess the differences-but not sure which to buy. Is the Flysky FS-G7P still a viable Tx, now 2 years later? ..doesn't seem readily available in Australia, unless there is a exclusive distributor I have not found yet.. Any update you could provide would be gratefully approcisted.. thanks Geoff
Poderia me ajudar ??? Faz 2 meses de uso e já está com defeito o botão principal não está funcionando mas nem pra esquerda direita e pra cima só para baixo.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Do you really think it’s worth getting it if I have the get 5 already. I only use about 4 channels on my crawlers. Winch and then lights. And for my bashers I like the svc that comes with the receiver. Does this one have it built in the receiver?
Honest question: all the money you've spent on dozens of Flysky (and the related) Banggood and Aliexpress radios, you could have bought a couple of 7PXRs, M17s, or 10PXs by now...why? Is it because you have the sense that your viewers tend to buy these budget radios? Or do you just like to collect them?
He is a RU-vid reviewer/influencer. He gets everything for free from the manufacturers and retailers to provide a "review" and hence influence people to buy the product from their store.
Awesome radio! I'm getting myself one of these. Can I ask, where did you buy yours? I noticed yours came with the foam wheel and I definitely want that.
I wish they would stop introducing new protocols all the time for no (real) technical reasons. In the end it's just cheap electronics (and often the same ICs/chips). For quads and planes you can get really cheap radios, a multitude of channels and with open source OpenTX/EdgeTX, which can be programmed to make basically everything, besides coffee, maybe. And there is a (also open source) multiprotocol module firmware that supports lots of different protocols. There is even a complete open source protocol now with ExpressLRS. Some radios even come now with integrated MPM and ELRS. And the bigger ones even have touch screens and big color displays and other stuff you don't really need, but still get (if you want), because the hardware is so f**** cheap. You can get all this stuff easily for the price of a Flysky NB4 (which isn't programmable nearly as good as OpenTX and only supports one protocol). I know that surface vehicles don't need that much stuff, but still, I wish there was something similar available, because we would get *a lot* more for less money. The manufacturers just want you to bind yourself to a certain product/protocol and buy their receivers, while at the same time, they limit your possibilities just for product policy and want you to spend even more money on devices, that can do things the cheaper ones would also do, if they hadn't been limited in the first place. Like the GT3B/C and the i6 with custom firmwares that give you a lot more options and functions for free.
Price is 116$ on Amazon now. Did see a different option that I don't see any good reviews yet tho. wfly x9 runs around 140$ ish. Have you tried that one yet?
