This method does not work because Flysky no longer has any i6X firmware to download from its site. So, why does RC Guy put up another youtube video here in April 2018 still misinforming people?
Do you know what the updated firmware version changes/fixes? Have you noticed any kind of differences between the stock firmware and the updated firmware?
Nor me- also - the IT presenters favourite stunt at 0:56 secs in - a logo for FlySky - Where did that come from?!! With that , it becomes easier, I think, although all the 'addresses' seem to skirt around the issue of where to get that vital piece of info.. But thanks for making the vid! I (like the rest of the non-pc speak public !) will keep on groping. I used to like groping, although i was in a different sense!
I'm always wary of official 'upgrades' when the manufacturers don't detail EXACTLY what's being fixed. Was the FS-i6X having problems? What were they? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I fly thermal gliders, and my particular beef with the i6X is the apparent lack of altitude telemetry support. The Tx lets you calibrate and zero the altitude above sea level. Great. But it makes no mention of whether the fully-telemetry capable i6X transmitter (with an iA6B telemetry-capable receiver) will support the (Turnigy) CAT10 altitude sensor. If not, why not? That'd be a good reason to upgrade the firmware. I've contacted Flysky about it, but they don't answer. They clearly don't care. Maybe it's time to leave Flysky and move up to a Jumper T12. That's a lot more 'grown-up', and works with Open TX and FrSky gear, too...
Chrome is blocking the firmware Usual chaos follows - roughly interpteted means 'get stuffed, generl public'! VERY annoying as I could do with a timer!
Apparently the FlySky FS-i6 data cable does not work with the FS-i6X. The FS-i6X requires a different type of data cable. ... Please also see on YT ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8p419msLeyM.html
Me, I just avoided it. My transmitter is fairly new and says it has a March 2017 firmware. I fixed my issue I was having so I didn't need an upgrade anyway.
