I also use Liftoff and the cable that came with my flysky i6x worked out of the box.

Use LiftOff too and same as 'Flying'. FS-I6X Worked out of the box with included cable. Bought in the UK from Amazon a couple of days ago.

@@RCwithAdam1 actually th fs i6 uses a direct usb communication while as the fs i6 uses ppm and maybe ftdi which needs additional software

You can use I6X with stock cable that came with transmitter in simulator without any problem, if it doesnt work thatrs mean that you should update firmware in transmitter in fact You should update to moded firmware becouse stock have some problem with frame rate.

That piece on the cable is a ferrite ring magnet used to block RF interference so the signal stays clean.

I used the data cable with realflight 9.5 (windows 10). While I was customizing a transmitter profile the option for FXi6-X came up, it's been running fine ever since.

The plastic thing is called a "Ferrite Choke" and used to prevent EMI noise :).

Just arrived to me, and i've tried, the windows 10 recognize it but it doesn't have any driver installed and don't let me update it. The simulator Real Flight 7.5 don't recognize it

3:53 This little plastic thing on the cable is a inteference protection, which sounds very reasonable, if you wanna use it for firmware upgrades, so it doesnt kill your RC when updating. Got the right cable for the sim, but cant find any drivers. MS flightsim 2020 just noticed there is some controlling device but couldnt use it. windows just says: error, wtf is this device?! 😕

Hi, did you put electrical tape on the usb thingy because it was flashing red all the time or its just mine behaving like that ? Also my inputs are 'jittering' a lot I don't know why. :'(

Hi! Yes, the red light continually blinks. I've had the jittering issue as well. Usually there is a way to add "deadband" to the channel in the simulator so that the jittering gets canceled out.

Hey Adam hope all is well! I have the i6x and it came with a cable that is read in liftoff.. the operations work in on the control options menu to move the little drone to the side. When I go to free flight and try to fly i cant disarm or arm the motor to take off and fly. I followed one of your videos on how to set aux channels and assign switches, so I should have an arm and disarm switch but still nothing happens. If you can help me out with this problem I'd appreciate so much man. Thanks in advance.

hey man. ive veen tryin to use this on my fkysky FS-I6 with liftoff on a mac. problem is, the mac doesnt recognize the USB whenever i start the simulator. can you help me out? im runnin BigSur 11.1 btw.

same for me on Big Sur nothing is working. Red light is pulsing but can't calibrate (not detected) I'm using adapter to connect USB-A to USB-C. Any help? ;(

Hope you're staying safe out there Andy. I was hoping you can help me out. I have the i6x and I'm trying to use it for liftoff simulator. It reads it but when I try to do a free flight the throttle position is in the center position. Idk if that's how its supposed to be. Also I can seem to arm the drone to fly. If you can help I would really appreciate it. Thank in advance and keep up the awesome work.

hi adam i was flying fpv (after you helped me fix it BIG THANKS BTW) and i wasn't getting great range with my fs-16x connected to x6b would it be a good idea to mod the fs16x to have a better range?

Glad you got it worked out! About how far could you go before losing signal? And what is your antenna placement like? That will have a big effect on the range.

RcwithAdam Hello Adam i'm using same Radio Controller and same Fs-SM100 with macbook pro High Sierra version 10.13.6,usb is flashing a red light, I was able to tune controller with LIFTOFF Simulator but when I want to start flying doesn't do anything, Usb light has to flash blue light right ? Do I have to download any driver for Macbook ? Please Help

Hi! No, mine stays red all the time. So the stick controls will work during the liftoff calibration process but not during the actual flight sim?

I haven't gotten my parts to try it yet. And I don't think anyone else has made a video about it.
