I used to be the one I used to be your getaway dreamer I couldn't get enough Thinking that we would last forever Don't know what you're thinking of Slipping further out of reach To the edge of town we could go Away from all the world to see You were wild trying to set yourself free I didn't see the signs right in front of me Oh, I'm running in the night so soon I've got nothing left to lose I'm leaving it all behind Running in the night with you I won't let you get away again We can see it through 'til the end But whatever we do I'm running in the night with you I used to be the one I used to be your place to land Under the shadows Into the palm of my hand You're always changing the situation Just when we found paradise You're always shutting down my conversation I can never read your mind Oh, I'm running in the night so soon I've got nothing left to lose I'm leaving it all behind Running in the night with you I won't let you get away again We can see it through 'til the end But whatever we do I'm running in the night with you I used to be the one I used to be your getaway dreamer I couldn't get enough Thinking that we would last forever Oh, I'm running in the night so soon I've got nothing left to lose I'm leaving it all behind Running in the night with you I won't let you get away again We can see it through 'til the end But whatever we do I'm running in the night with you Oh, I'm running in the night so soon I've got nothing left to lose I'm leaving it all behind Running in the night with you
Even though I am a hard rock guitarist I love this style of music, melodic, with feeling and a great voice. It takes me back to my adolescence back in the 80s.
I'm a metal fan, but I've been listening to FM84 ft. Ollie for more than two years now, first time I saw their performance here in youtube.. I'm so happy. ^^
last couple of months this is my most favorite song of all time. Its actually more 80´s than the real 80´s :-D i think it was never ment to be played live but you can acually see how is Ollie enjoying beign on the stage. and thats what this music is all about.... feeling, emotions and good vibes ;) im from Europe - Czech but i really would like to see this live somewhere ;)
I'm trying to pitch this idea to event-organizing friends (DJs) of mine. They're still completely unaware of this counter culture looming at the horizon. They better grab the opportunity because at some point the Trap bollocks will have played out.
I was a young teen in the 80's. A few years back, I stumbled upon synthwave (and FM-84) by chance. It was like a flood of optimism again - something no other music has come close to since. 80's synth really was as good as it sounds. No, better. Today's synthwave takes me right back to those arcade nights when this magic vibe only cost us a hand full of quarters. BIG THANKS to Ollie and the band for the teleportation. LOVE IT!!!
I couldn't agree with you more! Such a great description! Also grew up in the "GREATEST" 🙌 decade ever! At age 12, heard the legends KRAFTWERK, for the very first time. Through a local University radio station. It kickstarted my heart full of sweet Synth. Discovered Ollie a few year's ago, as well. This & "WILD ONE'S" are my top fave tracks. Listen to them every single day!
I gotta feeling that this LIVE version is even better than the studio version! Maybe because the singer really puts all his soul in this LIVE version, totally incredible how he rocked that stage!
I love how he gets the audience involved, even gets quieter so they can be the main vocals. Reminds me of Dwight Yoakam. If you haven't seen Dwight live, I highly recommend it. Such a fun experience.
🧔the voice and the style makes you fly to the 80s in all languages. 🎅 " go back to the 80's "🎅 tornant als 80's revertere ad LXXX's risalendo agli anni '80 terug na die 80's vraćajući se u 80-te 回到80年代 retour aux années 80 voltando aos anos 80
I haven't really given the 80's much thought in the lasat 30 years, but listening to this... - my heart is just breaking! Hard to hold back the tears. The power of music, man!
Música boa de verdade e aquela que você viaja com a letra e a melodia .até minha menina de 1 ano fica sentada na frente da tv ouvindo essa música parece até que tá pensando em um futuro não tão distante
So awesome, I had no idea there are events like this! Hope the community goes far, lot more people need to know about this! And Ollie, of course, is awesome! His voice works so well with the style!
I became obsessed and in love with this song, this band and the retro synth wave ! But I have to admit that his vocal performance here is far far away from the studio version which is a million times better !! I’m a bit disappointed by the live version here (vocally speaking) 😅. Yet I remain in love with this band and this song !!!
