It’ll be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season. As a Southend fan I’ve done a few saves with them. As long as you finish in the top 10 I always received a transfer budget of £800,000 to 1.2 million which makes the the next season very easy. Hopefully that’ll of changed after the further financial struggles.
I don't know we'll finish that high, but the takeover we've had seems to have made things very stable financially. I'd argue in every save that money problems seem more rare so far. 👍
Playing with Southend sitting just outside playoffs in Feb season 1. I lost bridge early on and moved to a 4-1-2-2-1 no wingers, due to squad limitations. I’ve just lost Ralph aswell so forms dipped again, year is very hot and cold due to squad. I have loaned a fair average player to help but nothing massive. Tough challenge keep at it, enjoying the series so far!!
Transfers definitely will dictate it. I'm happy to adapt tactically to whatever we face, but not knowing which players you're going to lose is difficult. We don't play using the player search screen either, so it makes replacing them tricky. 😂
I've had this issue too. Started with Bradford City bottom of league 2 in october. Got them to 13th by January and was under pressure. Even after 5 games unbeaten. It was weird. Hit top half and all pressure gone. Which was the target. All this with a same level of managerial support as you do. Seems your game is not taking the minus points into account. You just need to get out of relegation spots by January.
Yeah I can partly understand as 1 or 2 players will often test or play up to a new manager. I'm sure if we deal with the first bad egg sternly, we'll get back on the right track. 🤞
I’ve started with Southend. Got a striker called Matt ward on loan has soon has the transfer embargo ended he’s 🔥 currently sitting 3rd. Try a 532. Ralph and gus Scott has wing backs mate will stop you leaking goals. A turned Powell into a advance forward. Now Lincoln n Exeter are trying to sign him scores 9 in 14
I trust John Still will join me in finding some stars. We're not using player search so will need to wait for reports, but I still think we'll be fine this year. 👍
From -10 to 9 pts and they are calling for your head. Im guessing this is just the BETA being buggy, there is no way youd be facing the sack. Reminds me of the beta last year where the welsh 2nd division had managers being sacked after 1 game.
You won 2 out of like 10 and lost the others… including a 6-1 defeat… that’s why you may be sacked….the players won’t be happy with those results and if you ain’t doing anything to try to keep their heads up then they are gonna lose faith in you…. And who doesn’t have a GK on the subs bench it goes without saying I think
Around 20% of clubs in the National Leagues don't use a sub GK. Neil Warnock never did before increased subs either. We lost 6-1 because of no GK, which would be considered an outlier, here it's devastation. We've only won 2 out of 8, with no run of defeats greater than 3 in a row. Given the expectation was to fight bravely against relegation, I'd strongly argue we're matching that! 😂
Just cos 20% of non league clubs risk playing without a sub goalie doesn’t mean you should, also if you had a sub keeper you wouldn’t have lost 6-1 so poor decisions would add to pressure in f potential sacking so not making it easy on yourself and at one point playing the risky game will cost you your job, plus you said already how frequent injuries to keepers happen so you have no one but yourself to blame
