It's now 2023 strangely enough, and my Buffalo (2013 Baja as well) is one of the few items that I would never part with. If I were homeless I would sleep in the shelter it provides. Here's hoping that that isn't a premonition. Cheers, *clink!
civitec these bikes are bullet proof pretty much. The only thing to watch out for is the water pump impeller going out. It's a easy fix and you will know it when the oil looks milky. That's about it. These bikes go forever with little issues. If you want an older adventure bike this is the one you want. It carrys its weight low and isn't short on any power. There's tons of Information about these bikes and loved by many.
@@mulisha0351 Do you have any experience regarding the 950 adventure? They sell for significantly cheaper. So at the moment I'm thinking about buying a low mileage 950 instead of a high mileage 990
@@tolga1cool pretty much the exact same bike but minus the efi. The 950 was carbed and produced around a 100hp and the 990 produced 115 it that gain was from efi. They both suffer water impeller failure so if you buy a 950 or 990 ask and see If it's been replaced. It's easy to do but apparently all lc8 motors have this failure at some point. Other than that they are bullet proof. Any more questions you might have fill free to ask me. Also take a good read of ktm950info.com
@@tolga1cool almost everyone that owns a 990 950 take very good care of the bike and are very knowledgeable of them. The lc8 doesnt get sold due to problems, they usually get sold because the owners dont like watching them set pr they want a 1290 or something. Some guys own 4 or 5 of them.
Ktm did a limited run of these baja models. It was also the last 990 from ktm. What makes it different was, it had no abs or traction control, came with dunlop rally raids front and rear, extra led lights, gps mount, luggage rack, luggage bag and tank case, plus the seat was different. I put the fmf pipes and skid plate on the bike and relocated the sidestand. Other than that not much really
Also the bike came in only white and came with the engine guards, stealth sprockets that half and half and handguards. It was for the most part fully decked out off the showroom floor.
@@cliffordzehmke5650 good news is you dont need a baja edition. Just keep your eyes peeled for a 950SE/ADV or 990 ADV. The price has gone down considerably because of the 1090/1190/1290. But really the 990 is still the best overall bike of the bunch for what you get. Most everyone that owns one takes very good care and theres very good chance you can buy one used in great condition thats decked out. I hope you get one someday because its a fantastic bike and such a blast to ride
these are the FMF 4.1 silencers with stock headers. its the same 4.1 that FMF currently makes. i think there is a Q4 silencer from fmf but these sound great, and wont blow your ears drums out. try looking on ktmtwins.com or advrider.com in the fleemarket section and see if anyone has some for sale. i did purchase these silencers directly from FMF.
