FINALLY! A FULL VIDEO FOR BEGINNERS!!! Hats off to you brother. This is what we need more of because new RC'rs struggle. There is a lot to know. My first rig is on the way, FCX18 Landcruiser (blue and grey)
Thank you so much for this awesome and thorough video. This is my first 10th scale truck and only my second *real* RC car in general so I really appreciated you taking your time to go over so many details. 🎉
Nice review, Ken! I do wish that receiver was able to be separated cause the TX looks great and I’d definitely want to keep that. But that’s just a small complaint lol. Otherwise it looks awesome! I’ll definitely be adding one at some point.
Thank you so much for the detail on the trim adjustment of Channel 6. I was having an issue with the rear wheels disengaging when toggling between frw/4wd/dig. Adjusting the trim seems to have fixed it!
Back again did not get it Monday it got delayed but it will be here today Tuesday, going to be rainy day here in Michigan don’t have to work so I’ll be here when it gets here super cool
Back watching again, I just got the skid plates for the unlocking mechanism on the axle housing there looking for a video on how to install for reference
My first RTR that I don't want to modify, it works out the box, quite some punch from 3s, and awesome low speed throttle with hardly any whining with good torque. Pity about the ESC,/receiver combo but feel there is a lot of play in it before I need to modify. I will be swapping out the dig feature for RWD, I'll have more fun with that. But overall the only disappointment was the body came with a huge crack init, but I ran it anyway, and I've always found things that surprise me without expecting anything, gets my attention. It has almost basher speeds in 2 nd gear, yet you could still crawl in it, obviously 1st would be better, but even therethe ESC is not whining and does a decent job. Also notable is the throttle response that is so near brushless like, they have really done a good job on it. It along with the 1/18 version are my first crawlers and am enjoying both of them very much. I paid less for both, than a High Trail F150 would have cost, and feel the FCX10 alone takes the win for me.
Hopper, 😂 I think topper was lost in translation. Great review. Got mine on the way( orange and white) along with the new fcx18 c10 pickup they released alongside this. Thanks for the great in-depth review live your reviews.
I figure if you put grease on that it might hang up that’s just my thought I even will spray all the cables down with it once it dries it won’t attract dirt
I really like your explanation on the transmitter. Have you ever thought of getting an M12 4in1 ? I have one and have no idea how to use it, and I believe if you were to get one and explain the way you have here, it would be awesome .
cool ken haven't watched for a few week's to busy building and crawling, but like always awesome review. thanks ken " huge fall " shows fms make tough trucks any scale
15:05 #BumpSteer ? Happened with previous "1/10" fms model without panhard bar. Fixed on fj40. Most in depth video by far, falls at 1:18:10 😵 Square body beast!
I like the look of the body when it's on the first latches. But the lights don't work. They don't make contact with magnets. All so mine looked like it's squatting. Think needs more oil in shocks. An rear axle doesn't seem to fully on lock on dig . And there $599. In Canada 😢
This rig is obviously not meant to be super scale. You want that, build a TF2 or a BRXO2, etc. It's obviously not meant to be an extreme rock crawler. You want that, build an lcg, MOA, or whatever of either category. This rig is a perfection of in-between, and FMS absolutely nailed it! And at a price point nobody else can compete with or even come close to! I have a TRX4 on stock rails with $1500+ in it that can't be touched in it's class. I'm willing to bet this rig will only need brass internal clamp rings in the front wheels to retire my TRX4. And again, the money spent in comparison. I also have a TRX4- based Negative G with over 3k in it that also can't be touched in it's class. I do not comp or go by rules. I build pure performers without handicapping my rigs, and that's what I do, what satisfies MY needs/wants. I live in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge range with many of us locals, and many come from all around to experience our slice of endless crawling heaven. We can be out eight hours and not even realize it. Our rigs are built solid and pure performance based down here. Also have many TF2's for scale, from strictly technical trailing to extreme. That being said, what are all these jokers crying about?! This rig is a mix of near perfection of a mixture of all classes straight out the box, and that is exactly what it is meant to be, FOR $399.99 ON THE BUTTON, tax and shipping free to us! Go fly a kite or throw a Frisbee or something. These whine-bags obviously totally missed the point and value in this rig. IT IS GENIUS! SPECTACULAR RIG‼️
@TheShopMiniRC not a problem, brother. You're very welcome! It was a great watch with a lot of knowledge provided in learning this rig while on the wait. I feel I'll already know all I need to know now just from your video alone. So for that, I thank you, as well. What a great, one of a kind rtr platform. Too bad others are so blind. Happy crawling! 🤍🤘🤙
Btw, CVDs or CVAs on RC cars are not actually true constant velocity. They are no different in physics to universal joints. THe ones people refer to as CVDs are still actually universal joints.
Just got mine yesterday. Don't the mini servos come already adjusted correctly? Or do I need to check them. Got the cap and inner fenders on but haven't ran it yet..
They should be fine, we just show in case you do need to adjust. Also, weird things happen all the time during manufacturing, so if you notice the diffs not shifting or piping in and out, it any of the shiftable stuff (2speed, dig, etc) then this shows how to fix it.
@@scottpledge4073 I try. It does take a ton of time though. But I hope the community supports, subscribes and shared everything to help grow the channel. I figure I support the community, the community will help support the channel.
Would you happen to know what the spline count/size of the micro servos are? I'm really hoping for 25t, standard 1/10 size. I really like to know what is needed for spares/replacements and those micro servos are the one bit of information I have not seen.
Nice video. I like to install an engine simulator on my fms fcx10 k5, but I could not find out the throttle line. Could you help me with that? Thanks a lot.
Unfortunately there is no channel 2 for throttle. Most 2-1 esc/rx don’t have one. Makes it hard to use sound modules or upgrade to an aftermarket esc without buying a new transmitter and receiver.
@@TheShopMiniRC In your opinion, I have to replace stock transmitter & receiver with new ones If I want to assemble an engine sound simulator? Do I have to replace Esc as well? Thanks.
@@capitalnguyen5624 you would. :( hopefully FMS will be releasing an 11 channel rx that will work with the stock remote. Then you would only need that rx and an esc like a hobbywing 1080.
My research says that this is the best buy for the money. Unless you're a modification fanatic this will do just fine for all situations. Non-scale folks need not apply.
I wonder if they have clear body’s for this car. I typically don’t like to do too much wrenching in my cars but I would try to transfer the lights to a clear body if they have one.
there sure is!! Both fairRC has it: goaff.pro/xghynz And FMS Directly: www.fmshobby.com/products/1-10-chevrolet-k5-blazer-clear-car-boby-kit?_pos=4&_sid=5fe88b48b&_ss=r&ref=Bg_nY7gBriVBzw
Just about any 2s 4000-5500 battery with a xt60 connector should drop right in. I show the battery tray dimensions if you really want to be sure. Any 2s or 3s with an xt60 that fits in the tray will work.
I believe this rig has the option to run in rear drive as well just gotta tune the transmitter to that option and you should be able to run rwd instead of fwd !!
You can easily switch it to rear wheel. ;) it’s a physical change in the transmission but doable right out of the box. The change gives you Fwd/4wd/rwd.
can i ask you expert opinion, im looking for 10scale scale crawler, if you can only choose 1 brand, what brand is the best quality , performer you can recomend
FMS and Redcat has REALLY stepped up their game. The new Redcat Ascent Fusions is an AMAZING value (as is this FCX10). As for super high quality and performance though, Vanquish makes really good stuff. Usually the best stuff is kinda all custom made from different companies. IMO, it really comes down to a truck you like the looks of. Axial, Vanquish, Redcat, FMS, Element, and yes... even traxxas, all made good trucks at this point.
Just got mine, and I am so mad on my order shows black they sent me the brown and yellow one I am so mad just so mad, sent them an email they know I am pissed And on messenger sent message waiting to hear from them I hate the brown and yellow what it took for me to get the money up for the black one and they sent brown yeah I am pissed
@@TheShopMiniRC fair RC yes I heard from them they will send me a return label, I’m not returning I’m keeping it I ordered the black body kit so I will bash the brown one , And have the black one to look good. Question it’s obvious they ain’t got no engineers over there the screw For the light pods to the rollbar three threads ain’t going to get it out of all the screws I have I ain’t got that size they are a little skinnier what size did you use
Subscribe after watching this video Thankyou soooooo much for the great information If possible kindly make full tutorial on how to lube and grease all the stuff in this rc car Its kinda helpful
