Best edf ever made! I love my Eflite 90mm Viper and the FMS Bae Hawk, but I liked the Futura v3 I have three. (One still in the box) One that’s been flown a million times and the other was with me going “Tim Allen- More Power, reverse thrust, 125 amp ESC and a bigger motor. I’ll never not have one of these.
@@BDTennessee no BD, thank you for sharing! You’re a hell of a pilot. I love your field. And I really like your takes. You got a Sub for Life. All I can say from here in Atlanta is “Go DAWGS!!” (I married a Double Dog, 2 degreer from UGA. My alma mater lost to U of F in 1939 177-0, dropped football the next day) Actually glad to see UT as a Top Ten team. Great people in Knoxvegas on Saturday’s. Invite me up sometime to fly at your field. I’ll bring the Freewing Big a-10, the Flightline 1600 Spitfire, Corsair, P-38, Tigercat, and some FMS Jets.
@@jeffhenderson3318 thanks so much for the kind words my friend! "em' dawgs" are tough! Come on up any good day on Saturday and im there :) I just got ahold of Freewing A10 twin 80. Absolutely awesome plane!
@@BDTennessee there were two edf’s that really surprised me. After being scared to death to fly the big a-10, once I did, it’s just a big baby in the air. With that said, every landing feels like having all your final exams scheduled on the same same. There’s a part of my body you can’t drive a 10 penny nail with a ballpeen hammer. No crashes yet, but it is nerve racking to land. I felt the same with the big Freewing F-22. Once it’s dialed in, it flies like a trainer. Probably the easiest way to describe what I’m experiencing is- “You get a Freewing setup right, CG correct, and your flaps to elevator dialed in, all are easy to fly and land. I got another couple weeks of chemo and radiation for throat cancer, and another month of “The chemo shakes”. Then I’m coming up to fly and shake your hand!
@@jeffhenderson3318 both A10 and F22 you hit right on the head! Size makes them scary but once they locked in,so fun to fly! I did remaiden for Mike today on 8S F-22 and flew smooth a silk!!! Look forward to meeting you my friend!
Hi Bradley, I'm looking at this EDF 80mm Futura V3. Not only do I love the way it looks, but from what I understand it rips and fly's almost perfectly in the right hands. I'm just wondering if it will handle a SMC 6300mAh lihv so I can hit it hard for 3.5m? I see no value in using an EDF to test its stalling point, I HAVE THE NEED FOR SPEED! Also, a Green version of this Futura is available too, I'm curious if it has more contrast than the Red in the sky.
I love way it looks too. I actually like the green one better for color. Top of the list for well rounded flying sport jet. 5000-5300 increased the landing speed and borderline too much weight to push battery back far enough for CG. 6300 might be so heavy extra mah will be used up faster cause of needing to be in throttle for the extra weight. Keep in mind how it will fly clean, precision, and numble has to do with being lightweight. However if main goal is wide open flying, throw it in there and send it haha...
Very nice. This is going FOR-TURA in my little hanger. I like some SMC 5300, so I'll keep it tight. My personal rule with EDF, I set my timer for a safe 3.5m, in this way I know I can safely give it the beans regardless the mah.@@BDTennessee
With where you have the battery, is it on the nose heavy side? I’ve seen videos that have the exact pack that has an inch gap from the tray. I’m a bit confused because I just got mine ready for maiden and not sure with the CG.
Book CG is nose heavy. Battery placement on mine is further back and still nose heavy some. Battery inch from tray will be close to book CG range. You running SMC 5300 too or another battery,if so which one?
