Thanks for the video, got a little lost in the middle but sorted it out. I noticed Spektrum doesnt make regular receivers past 10 channels unless you go to the really big 14 channel $350 receiver. Do you have a solution to add channels to the regular AR10100T receiver? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and time with your interesting videos. I have set up telemetry recording, but it makes an annoying beep when I move the throttle stick to start recording and I would like to remove it; the receiver (AR10360T) gives me incorrect altitude values. Do you know if there is something to set that I have not done? I hope for an answer. Greetings from Italy.
Hi BD- I upgraded an NX-6. New models setup automatically have the 14 channels now but existing models do not. I do not seem to have the option to activate them in the frame rate menu. Any ideas?
Go to monitor, scroll down to bottom. Click on monitor bars then scroll right. When it shows extra channel;s they will now be in the Servo Setup and Channel Assign screens.
Hi, you’re Great! Thanks so much for share your experience, the manuals of all brands are very lacking in information. On the NX8+ there is already the possibility to activate the panic button in the Safe section, but I ask you is it necessary to activate it when I already have the Safe that can be activated with the switch, or is there a difference? Greetings from Italy.
Panic activates for short period of time and Safe is self level until switch the flip back to normal modes. I recommend flipping the switch to Safe recover method, imo.
Great!!!!!!!! Thank a lot for sharing your precious knowledge!! I was going crazy. I had the same problem of @gelonious1, and thanks to you I solved it. The strangest thing is all the receivers have the signal upside, while this one has it at the bottom, but the manual doesn't say anything and the image on the receiver is not clear. A hug from Italy.
I have several Freewing 80mm EDFs, and an E-flight Viper 90mm which I love for just about any type of flying. Although, I also like the E-flight F-16 Thunderbirds 80mm EDF, I love the color scheme. I'm an advanced flyer, I'm curious which one may perform better/or less, the Freewing F-16 v2 90mm or the E-flight F-16 Thunderbirds 80mm?
Okay I watch the vid some several times and hear you saying about the cg after the landing.. I have the same bird (and waiting for good weather) but when I'm @130cm cg my lipo is like 3cm more to the front opposite yours? (Spektrum Smartlipo 6s 5000 100c)
@@feelgooddany SMC im using is 20 grams lighter. So im back 30mm and lighter battery. Should be nose heavy even with gear down. You could start where your at since this F-16 has plenty of elevator authority. Id sai you will be somewhere in the middle of my placement and yours currently. 130 in book is mm not cm...
Do you think the 6s has enough power? Shane you couldnt test back to back against the 8s. Its weight and tippyness is whats holding me back from buying it. If i did i think id go 7s or 9s.
Any issues with your jet? I finished assembling mine today, and when I plugged in the battery, the ESC only beeped five times. I contacted MotionRC, and they told me to try again with a freshly fully charged battery. If it does the same thing, I should contact them again to create a ticket. I'll test that tonight after work. Congratulations on such a great maiden flight 😁👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Thumbs-up for your video. Thumbs-up from Douglas, Arizona...🌵🌵🌵👍🏾😁🇵🇷
No issues with the ESC. I have been following the forums. Beeps are being misinformed. I have another jet thats a new release and arms the exact same way. Running hot is another issue has been reported. Check the EC5 connector and ESC for high temps. Most cases its done on powering up.
@BDTennessee I'll double-check and keep you informed. Did you program flaperons? I can't find the way to do it and don't want to mess it up. If you don't mind, can you please make a video showing how it's done, including any mixes on the radio? For now, I'm going to maiden her with only the air brakes set up, until I figure out how to set flaperons. Do you think I'll be okay, or should I wait and try to set up flaperons? Thanks again for your response to my comment. Have a great day! Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵🌵👍🏾👍🏾🇵🇷
Since updating to AS3X+, I haven't been able to use 40, 50, and 60 percent AS3X gains with the sensitivity set to X1. If I raise the Stop Lock rates to 100%, it's better. I don't really want to change the sensitivity to 0.5X to stop the oscillation. Spektrum has apparently changed the gain algorithm and made it more sensitive. I wish they'd quit messing with it and go back to the way the AR636 gains worked. I think it's ridiculous to have 5 sensitivity settings when 1X, 2X, and 4X should be plenty. They've also made the heading hold gains way too sensitive. On the AR636, you could set the heading hold gain to the same value as the AS3X gain. Now, you have to turn the heading hold gain down to between 4 and 10 percent. Spektrum's gyro firmware is getting worse, not better.
Mine was doing the same thing on the recommend flap settings I took some elevator out as well. Will try CG back if that doesn't help. Thanks for the recommendations.
Hi everyone, I binded the AR636A receiver with the new NX8+, the controls works but when I go to forward programming the radio lights up red and responds connection failed. I tried to activate the SAFE as the manual says (crossing the Sticks and moving the switch 5 or more times), but it doesn't work. I must say that with the old DX7S, even with some difficulty, I managed it. I'm in crisis.. Do you have any advice? Greetengs from Italy.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it was the video I was looking for, because I am thinking of dedicating myself to airplanes and changing radio. Could you tell me if the NX series has voices alarms in Italian linguage? Greetings from Italy.
BD I have found your videos extremely helpful over the last few years. How do you do a AS3X+ update on a BNF receiver in a model without removing it from the plane i.e. e-flite T28 1.1m?
I use a laptop and sit close to the receiver with programming cable plugged into receiver. Use a lead extension if you need more room and longer cable.
Great review. Shame u decided to use USA only available LiHV batteries to an international audience. Maybe next review do HRB/Turnigy/CNHL/Spektrum etc brands other ppl use? Cheers.
I have the blue and white 6S version. The previous owner somehow wiped out the gear doors and decided it was too much airplane for him. The color scheme is terrible for such a fast plane. Mine has disappeared a couple of times, but fortunately I have an AR637T with AS3X and SAFE in it.
Spektrum NX Setup: AS3X and Safe Setup video - I noticed the rknob adjusts all three gains at the same time (roll, pitch and yaw). Is there a way to separate each gain onto a separate trimmer or switch so that you can fine tune one individual gain at a time?
Setup on knob. Set first AS3X values at 100% to be adjusted. Set other 2 surfaces at Zero. Start with knob to left so its off, raise until too much ,and then back down. Lock in the value by changing to fixed or write down and zero out. Do same process for next 2 surfaces. Once all 3 adjusted add them back in and done.
Hello and thanks for the video on smooth transitions. I have a question... I have my F-14 setup and I all my flight modes however, my elevator just jumps fast to it's set position and not slow like in the video. Am I missing something?
Nice video, thanks. Question, my iX14 (mode 1) will be the instructor and the student will be on his iX20 (mode 2), do the modes matter in buddy box setup?
I’ve been waiting for your maiden and review before buying this plane. I can see that this aircraft is going to push my landing learning curve really hard. I better get those B1B landings greased before flying this bird. Thanks for a great video as always.
Beautiful set up BD .I also did a dubro control linkage on wing sweep mechanism its a must.i think I'm going with your tire set up....just scratch off that bad landing it happens to the best of us.good day sir keep your videos coming sir.
Does anyone know the actual size of this plane? from the video it looks nothing like the 1:13 scale they say on the buy site. Buy site says "~60in" thats supposed to be 5ft, but still it doesnt look 5 feet, looks near 3-4 ft, like itd just pass the top of that table if stood up on tail. Wish there was a picture with a scales showing the length/ width
