This ambiance is probably the only Fnaf ambiance that genuinely terrifies me. This ambiance almost feels, nostalgic, the low chimes playing in the background, almost like you heard it as a kid while asleep, hearing it clearly but never knowing where it's coming from. The low drone always reminding you that this is a nightmare, this isn't a chime to sing you to sleep, it feels distorted, it feels like your memories are turning into nightmares.
This perfectly encapsulates the feeling I get from this audio. Ironic that I use it to help me sleep, it is just so calm, weirdly comforting, even the low drone- My nightmares can never hurt me as much as real life
Once upon a time, I kind of sneered at FNaF4 for its over-the-top monsters, which I saw as the result of desperately trying to one-up the previous games’ scariness four times in a row. But after coming back and replaying the game, I’ve gained a new appreciation for it. What I love about FNaF4 is how incredibly sparingly it uses the nightmares. The previous three entries revolved around keeping an eye on all threats with the cameras- but in FNaF4, if you can see the threat, it’s generally a sign of things going wrong. You can successfully fight off every nightmare in the game without ever laying eyes on them (discounting Freddy in plush form), and I think that’s a really clever way to mix up the formula. What used to be a comfort has now been turned against you. After considering that, I think I understand why the character designs in FNaF4 are so exaggerated: they weren’t designed to be seen in the neutral poses and bright lighting from the extras menu, they were designed to be glimpsed. The are exaggerated for the same reasons body language is exaggerated in a stage play. EDIT: Oh, and I suppose you need to look at Fredbear and Nightmare if they teleport into the closet or the bed, but the general idea still stands.
This ambience makes me cry of nostalgia, i just miss when i played this with my counsins and brothers and sisters... I'll never forget our old house, it was similiar to the fnaf 4 house, one day a rat appeared in the back of the house, we tought it was the animatronics lol. I hope these days come back sometime...
This is ambience is the ambience i would feel and hear when im in my granny's home no doubt. in the country side, no wifi and much gadgets around, feeling totaly desolated. Only a tv from 2010 probably. the house is quite spacey like the house on fnaf 4, dont forget the smell retro furnitures, vintage items and old pictures all over the wall, dusty I often stay up late and just absolutely vibing even tho it was quite creepy like this. And we often come late night when we visit there There were many rooms and everyone was asleep, i could hear the silence of a home. the front of the house isa huge road that once was busy in the morning. At night you'd only hear not many vehicles moving around, and if there is, high chance that its a big container truck and sounded roughly like the jarring ongoing ambience like the video on the back on my ear almost once every hour on the night Oh yeah and its very dark too since the most of the roadlights are broken, its really really dark outside i dont know anybody there, i dont know any neighbor or friends other than my own family members. But this was just the past, last year my nephew moved next to my granny's house and my aunt installed a wifi. the vibe is still there thought it aint much since the wifi gives a less desolate feeling Thanks for reading
@@lolmiser12 tbh its not that spooky tho, its just really dark and have a memorable ambience, thank god there is not spooky stories on my grandma's house considering its on the countryside area where folklore and spooky stuff may linger on our ears, snd i dont know any of it
0:47 This sad tune always made me think of the crying child. FNAF4 is such an interesting game, as no one has understood what it tried to convey, and it has been recontextualized over time. I would love to know some day what it meant when it first released, and what exactly was meant to be in the box.
Late reply but sadly the original lore for fnaf4 was the dream theory where all of fnaf 1-3 is dreamt by the crying child. It was a "it was allll a dream" deal and it sucked. It got retconned almost immediately and is still a testament to how flimsy fnaf lore was, with scott often putting stuff just for the mystery and pivoting when it didn't work
Fnaf 2 ambience: Intense Fan Noises and Hallway alarm. Fnaf 3 Ambience: Eerie and ominous music with long thuds to greatly accompany the character your trying to avoid.
The ambiance in this game strengthens its horror significantly because it fits so well with the vibe its going for. The beginning of it sounds so disturbingly evil and sinister. Its like you know the moment you hear the ambiance something is wrong and you can just sense something that doesnt belong and shouldnt be there.
I jumped a little bit when Fredbear changed to Nightmare. For a split second I thought it was real and about to come through my screen. So much nostalgia.
I love to think that the ambient sound is similar to the one in my grandmother's house, but because it was in a field and the house is very similar and she has a clock like the one in the game, it sounds identical and it happens to me that every time I go I fnaf 4 agreement makes me a little nostalgic, but in a field the power always goes out, it makes me very nostalgic 😢
we all experience different emotions listening or looking to something, when i listen to this, i imagine a person performing an autopsy in the darkest hours of the night, alone in the whole building and lights are not shining alot
oh you have no idea what it's like having a large black dog in your room who will randomly move in the middle of the night. It sometimes feels like i really do have a fnaf animatronic in my room
I love how the ambience in this game has a dreamlike element to it, the chimes and the low droning makes it feel like your in a dream or nightmare. I also see the chimes as the safety of your home and the low droning being a breach in that safety and security. The presence of evil in a place of safety. They’re here for you. They’re here to end you. No more fun, no more games. All of it is gone. Sheer terror, pure fear. It encapsulates the horrid nightmares young children have. But it’s in your home, you must be safe, right? The chimes are reassurance that you will be okay. but those chimes clash with the low sounds. The safety of your home versus the evils that lurk beyond the light’s limit. This is why I love fnaf 4. I was a little kid when the game came out and I’ve had multiple nightmares of Freddy and his friends until I got older And stopped being scared. The nightmares have some of the best designs in the franchise because of how reminiscent they are of the nightmares we had as small children. It’s all just nostalgia now, but I will never not appreciate that game.
I can see why people think the fnaf 4 animatronics are over the top, but they also need to remember that they're called "nightmares" for a reason. You are playing as a child, and childrens imaginations are incredibly complex. They tend to imagine their fears as extremely over the top depictions of what they really are
The FNAF 4 Ambience is lowkey one of the scariest sounds I’ve ever heard. just the eerieness behind it is horrifying. FNAF 3s ambience when Springtrap in near you always scared the shit out of me. but this is so much scarier...
POV: You are a little kid, trying to pull an all nighter, your parents are asleep and there isn’t a single sound in your house… that is until it hits 12:00am, your dog starts barking furiously, you hear faint laughter and this starts playing…. You aren’t the only one awake anymore…
The horror of FNAF 4 is being awake at night and you're seeing dark shadows and hearing sounds and you're getting freaked out. Looking into dark hallways and expecting something to jump out, that's seriously unsettling.
For real when i was a child i was dead-scared from this game, somehow it planted the idea in my brain that those nightmares could simply materialize in your house and kill you, i remember vividly not sleeping at all for at least 5 days or so because i kept hearing sounds around home that made me stay awake until sunrise, this video brought me so much nostalgia that i've been playing it on the background while i work or draw, 10/10 would play again
good for you, because i'm struggling with this fear even tho i'm 22yo already and keep being afraid of everything and can't do anything about it even tho i'm fully aware that i have nothing to be afraid of, terrible psyche smh
Just imagine hearing the sounds of the elevator from fnaf SL while that player who is playing SL is probably wondering what’s happening to the player playing fnaf 4.
my absolute favorite thing about this ambience is that when you are playing the game, and the track ends, you get around 3 seconds of silence before it starts back up again, those 3 seconds are the most peaceful 3 seconds of the night because you can hear clearly
Oddly, the most comforting of all the ambiences in each game. Of course, making it more on the "uncomfortable" than "scary" side because of this. My opinion, of course.
The fact that I still hear this in my sleep even at 13 years old says something. I always seem to hear this at a grandparents house, and right now the grandfather clock just went off and scared the ever loving shit out of me, so much I actually grabbed my phone and checked the doorway and closet 😢 But in all seriousness this is such a soothing south with the chimes and the low drones but so anxiety, so stress, so nightmare inducing.
This brings back memories of 2014/2015, I remember being excited for FNAF 4 to come out, I saw the teaser of plushtrap sitting on a chair, and it brings back memories in general of those times :)
this makes me feel nistolgic for some reason. Not for being a fnaf-fanatic for a really long time, but It just reminds me of my childhood. Staying up late watching monster house and stuff is what this reminds me of.
this ambience reminds me of my town. during the day there are a lot of people around in my zone but at night it kinda feels like a liminal space beacuse there are no people around my zone and the street lights illuminate the empty side walk. you can hear the sound of an empty house ,a dog barking in the distance and a store running till 1 am
