I'm late but I know a lot about them! There is a pvz mod called "diablo plants" that adds three new plants: diablo tangle kelp, diablo plantern, and diablo oil monster (the sunflower peashooter hybrid). The plants have unique abilitys Diablo tangle kelp: like bonk-choy from pvz 2. Diablo plantern: Chomper but when it's chewing, it freezes zombies near it. Diablo oil monster: Just snow pea basically. (but more powerful) Forgive me if some of this is wrong
Fan lore idea: After Dave accidentally mix sunflower seeds with peashooter seeds, abomination was created, than he was bitten by zombie, and then abomination understood that Dave just use plants for his good to protect him with zombie, he sees that Dave doesn’t care about his plants and he want to get rid off abomination. Than the plant corrupts others. After he corrupts zombies and they go to Dave.
i never knew the cactus was a Female when i was playing it back when i was like 4 or 5 years old till now lol. nice mix btw i liked it and downloaded it so i can listen to it, till get's deleted by accident or privated n stuff.
Maybe instead of cactus it could be walnut or some because the iconic trio is sunflower peashooter and walnut with sunflower being tails peashooter being sonic and wal-nut being knuckles eggman being zomboss makes sense because they are both main villains tbh

I'll be honest this version of Pvz triple trouble is better than the developer activated version. My main dislike for the developer activated version comes from the fact that the "3,2,1 GO!" Repeatedly plays for the laugh sound effect during the fifth part or the third victim part
