I know i've very late to the subject BUT I still had alot of things to say! Congrats to the soft mod team for finally being able to get out this huge project and I can honestly say I enjoyed it! Also I have plans to keep this type of content up more but obviously with a bit more humor and bit more popular topics and games that way more people would be intrested in what im covering! The mod has improved a lot and everything but DEAR LORD what were they thinking with Pico's haircut? If I was Pico, I'd tape the hoodie to my forehead just to hide how bad that hairdo is.
surprised you didn't mention how attrocious week 6 was. bf and pico decided to completely ignore how senpai seems to literally be mentally ill (way too aggressive) and generally gives off massive "deadbeat and wife abuser" vibes, just because he "has a soft side" and "was probably just trying to get a revenge". ...or the fact that bf and pico are still just casually headbobbing when gf has a mental breakdown at the end of week 4 ._.
I do enjoy this mod and agrees with all the points made. Although I found boyfriend’s VA’s voice direction to be kind of shit, especially in those emotional moments. Shini mentioned that the dialogue of Ben liberating himself from the parents was all they wanted to say to their abusive parents. It should be a big moment, so having ChaosBeGone’s voiced direction be so monotone doesn’t fit the vibe. And with the pacing, because they need to fit a whole story so that it’s a parallel to the 7 week style of the original FNF(having this be an alternate universe) there isn’t time to flesh out much of the characters. Grace’s treatment of being overly obsessive has been toned down with the dialogue changes and new weeks added. There’s a lot of good ideas, but they’re poorly executed, but with the limits they have it’s not entirely their fault. I give this mod a 9/10. It’s much better than the original by so much. ❤
I'm happy I could get your attention to return. I will say some of the mods are just coming out now, such as Flavor Rave V2 and Step Right Up: Adventure Isle is definitely worth a look. Sorry I didn't have time to watch the video hour 1, tho.
It never sucked, man. It's not poorly written. As a victim of mental abuse, and it seems some of the people who worked on it are as well, Soft BF's struggles are very well represented. And the entirety of Week 5 is an incredible moment. To see him finally being able to stand up to his toxic parents (who's speeches are also good representations of the way abusive parents talk) was really inspiring to me. Father and Mother Fairest aren't just "bad people", they're abusers. Their abuse led to BF having trauma and to his trust in himself being barely existant. That's why he runs. He doesn't have the confidence to face them. He's scared of them after everything they've done to him and pretty insecure overall. But thanks to Pico, the one supportive person in his life, he starts to heal. It's a slow process, but eventually in Week 5, he gains the confidence to stand up to his parents. As for GF, she isn't evil. Antagonist doesn't mean evil. Her parents are also toxic, but it seems that she was the "golden child" unlike BF who was the "scapegoat child". GF was treated well by her parents because she fell in line and listened to what they said without question. She believes their toxic points of view because of that, but she's a victim too in her own way. She just doesn't realize it. FNF Soft is great. Just because you can't relate to other people's struggles doesn't mean it's bad. Even the original was never bad. It was clearly meant to represent the creator's struggles with being abused and being able to make a story and a character who can finally tell their abuser to f*ck off, something they probably can't do because facing your abusers can be really tough. And when BF did stand up to his parents, it was so satisfying. I personally love Week 5 and the song Hope to death.
This may seem like a harsh take: If you're a victim to mental abuse, i suggest you stop weeping around, and start working on yourself to release that so called mentality out of your mind, cuz this is all total BS that you are experiencing, and it shows how weak-minded you are
This mod sends a bad message about abuse, also why would i need someone to support me when i am being physically and mentally abused? I can work on myself, stand up against whoever was torturing me (exculding your parents), because that is what true masculinity wants us to do, not to cry, weep, and accept the fact that you can talk back to your parents. In life, yes, there are parents out there who abuse you, but it is your job as a child to accept it, because in the end, god disallows you to stand up to your parents even if they were abusing you, and yeah god will punish the abusive parents too, so whatever this mod tells you to do, ignore it becuase it sends a horrible message, especially to men like me, you cannot lose your masculinity to a mod that had zero masculinity in it, heck even pico calls himself a man while he isn't

I like this new version of the mod however my biggest issue is still the artwork. Week 6 is the biggest flaw. Or at least, any song with senpai in it. Compare Ben to literally everything else in week 6.
considering i play a variety of mods and have a wide range of music taste, its pretty much mid. not bad, or good, just mid. the arts really good, and the extra details like ben dancing in week 2 are nice aswell, but its not a mod that i'd replay after clearing once.
@@nahfamyouaint It has good ideas, but due to the constraints they have on making 6 weeks to parallel the original FNF(this being an AU). It isn’t entirely their fault.

I personally liked V2. Soft has always been one of my favourite mods. I don't really understand why people dislike the mod. I kinda liked the vastly different art styles, cause to me, it shows the unique ways the artists portray the characters.
I think soft v2 has some improvements, but the mod itself still feels like those vent stories like every other soft au stories. But music itself is a vast improvements while art direction seems to differ alot and inconsistent. Overall, I think its ok, but the story hasn't really changed and wasn't that good atleast in my opinion.
while the music is an improvement (and the art is better but still inconsistent), the real issue with this mod comes down to the story. they had 2, nearly 3 years to improve the writing and they didnt. its still forced, contrived, cliched, ugh its got it all
I think the problem I have with the art isn't that it's bad, but rather there is a bit too much style clash. BF and Pico aren't updated in art style at all, Father Fairest, Mother Mairest, AND Grace all have different art styles from each other and it is pretty noticeable
Well in my opinion, the music is great, the art well... yknow the thing, eveyone said it but at least isn´t that bad. But the story uhhhh man it could have been much better than that. Like, Pico and Grace were the only characters that doesn´t feel flat at all.
Glad you liked it more. I don’t know whether v1 or v2 is better. On one hand, nostalgia is a hard thing to beat but on the other hand v2 improves nearly everything so I really don’t know. And besides I have my problems with both versions. I hate skid and pump’s design in both, grace’s design in v1 ain’t the best. Most of the soundtrack in v1 is mediocre and just the original fnf songs and I don’t know how to feel about v2’s soundtrack but I’m happy they did original songs now though I have listened to a few mainly my favorite songs from v1, it’s complicated, hope and genesis, to put it simply, I prefer v2 it’s complicated but I prefer v1 hope and genesis. So overall happy you came around because this mod is way too overhated and to the people calling this mod a “bf x pico wattpad 18+ fanfiction” mod and is serious about it. Stop talking this nonsense and watch the actual mod. I’ll respect your opinion but seriously that needs to stop because that is just factually incorrect. It has bf x pico but it’s not the focus. The focus is abuse and trauma so please shut up and watch the actual mod. Anyway sorry for this long tangent, I’m just a massive fan of this mod and glad you really liked it.
The best way I can describe Soft V2 was it being… a letdown. I expected the story to be slightly overhauled but it was mostly the same. The only thing I could say I genuinely enjoyed from this update was the music, Week 6 especially
All i have to say is Soft BF aka Benjamin Fariest is a disgrace to masculinity. Imagine all i see from him is that he cries like a baby, he is unable to cope with his childhood trauma and to not look at it as a trauma, unable to accept that his parents are trying to do what's good for him. The reason why he sees his parents as abusive parents is because his mindset is very weak, it's how gay people like him have it, and that he dates Pico over GF. No wonder this mod was forgotten by the majority and is considered one and done to them
