You can also find really long drill bits in the electrical section of your Home Desperate store. They also have a little hole in the tip so you can use them to pull wire back through the hole.

Some of the discount/dollar type stores have a harware section, one of my locals had 3-packs blisters of 8, 10 and 12mm at 300mm long. The only difference is that they don't have the hole and are made of pure Chinesium (as AvE would say).

Great build. Always amazing to me how versatile foam is. Just by adding layers, details, dimensions, bevels, curves, ect. you can make something look so real.

Bill, the bits you glued individually on top of the blaster make a"pickatinny rail" which is the mount for a Telescopic sight, or can be on the side or under the barrel of a firearm to mount a flashlight or a laser sight. So I'm told. Kudos for a great build!

I commend you guys for such amazing production value on a long, 50 minute video! o.0 Lot's of quick cuts, never boring, never losing the viewer... Amazing angles, cameraman and audio/editing work (which is non-trivial for this length), plus it has both visual storytelling as well as funny and informative commentary. Great freaking job.

Thanks for all the amazing videos. I have been watching for some time and used a lot of what I have learned from people like you, Joel, Angus and many others in my builds including some huge projects for Christmas presents this year! I made a WORKING Twilight Zone Mystic Seer prop for my dad. It dispenses fortunes as well as napkins for the low price of 1 American penny! That project involved heating and bending sheet plastic, metal cutting and bending, 3D Printing and design work, cutting a napkin dispenser IN HALF, MAGNETS!!!! and many more skills. It is definitely thanks to the amazing community on RU-vid that I felt able to pull the project off.

The trigger has me thinking that maybe a good way to pass power through a foam prop would be metal wires or copper rod. Something you can push through the foam to create a power rail. No insulation needed if you seperate them enough. Might be cool for weapons with lots of leds all over. cut slots at different points to solder to then run short wires without having to make channels through the entire thing for the wires. Might have to play with it.

Foam is super affordable and a great material to start with! All you really need is foam, a utility knife, and some Barge, and you can make all kinds of things!

amazing prop bill. I got a little tip for making holes with brass tubes, I just apply some heat from a heat gun to the tip of the tube, it will carve more easy in to the foam and the finish its smooth ;)

Oh hey if you want to feed wire through foam easily, if you have some narrow pipe that fits in it, run the pipe "wrong way" through, feed the wires in, and hold the wires while pulling the pipe back out from whence it came. That's more if you're having trouble or need to feed it through a curve which always sucks
