Focus cmax egr valve cleaning 

Little tip: these two videos (the removal and cleaning) can apply to the volvo s40/v50 1.6d aswell. Thats what i got, and they use the same engine. Thanks for this guide, going to clean the EGR today i reckon :)

I sprayed the foam to clean the oven, I waited a long time but it worked very well, came very clean.

Pravin take the pipe off the air filer and spray some brake cleaner or easy start and engine will start, it will sound cranky and noisy but after a run it will settle and be okay.

Thanks for the video, I have to do this to my Focus, after the turbo pumped loads of oil through the engine! Does the ECU reset itself after you have cured the fault? BTW, I suggest using several light sources pointing at what you are videoing, it will made it a lot easier to see things inside.

if you wanna go step further you can remove and clean egr pipe and remove and clean inlet manifold...you will be amazed how much crud is in there...i really recommend doing this as your engine will breathe so much better after this

Hi I have just had a hole burn through on my v50 inlet manifold I guess EGR stuck open ordered a replacement manifold and going to clean EGR but should my engine be able to start for a few seconds without the manifold ? I kicked it over but not a peep 🙁thanks for your vids 👍

When l did mine, l found that the top moving part can only move one way. For it to move , l needed to rotate the 'T' bar upwards, then connect it in, something to watch out for.

Hello. I opened the top part of the Valve where the spring is. Now i have difficulty putting it back together. I don't have idea how it was. Can you help anyway.

have you considered fitting an egr blanking plate?

should the valve spring back as mine is fully clean but I have to flick the valve for it to close and dose this mean my egr is totally failed? thank you
