Honestly the game being super fun is enough to make me want to improve. I want to experience the game at a higher level, cuz it looks dope up there

40 matches so far and 6 wins but having a lot of fun. Sometimes people just need to accept that defeat is part of the process, i will aim to at least be rank B and dream of reaching rank A someday, with my win rate probably at 10%. Lets continue grinding and improving.

I have to remind myself that the game came out less than a month ago, and I'm not going to be ridiculous in such a short time. Especially being the fact that I'm coming from games like Tekken/Soul Calibur and MK/Injustice and have very little anime game experience aside from playing BlazBlue CSE very briefly in the past. None of the skills I have in those games transfer over really, and it took me years of playing the games in those respective series to get at the level I am now. I do get discouraged but know that I am slowly improving. :)

I had a hard time just ranking down in games, it would really discourage me and I'd stop playing or get really angry. I made it past that mindset, but having to see my win/loss ratio all the time is rough on me and I struggle when that number starts going down. Trying not to let it affect me in this game cuz it's a lot of fun. Just trying to focus on my neutral right now and maybe learn a real combo or two.

i struggle to win against hisui and arima, didnt have an answer to moon skill ladle and arima's once in a while left-right schmix. It helped me cope with how i got bodied 15 times in a row by seeing them having 800+ player matches tho. Thats a lot of matches

All Moon Skills have clash frames on startup when used in Moon Drive, but, when the clash happens, you can react with an invincible DP if your character has one and you're doing a move that's cancelable into it. Alternatively, if you're doing an A-button normal attack, you can also cancel into Shield. It might seem like Moon Skill Ladle in Moon Drive is a super strong reversal, but it's not once you know how to counter it after the clash.

I constantly buy and try to play fighting games because I really do like them. But no matter the game I just can't improve super discouraging. Only owned this game for 2 days and im already feeling like whats the point in playing.

The win rate shown only accounts for the last 100 games played. I can't confirm that for sure, but that's what the game says. I agree - don't feel bad for losing. But, if you want to get better, you should *feel* something whenever you make specific mistakes, so that you give yourself incentive to stop making the same mistakes. So focus on the individual mistakes that you're making, instead of looking at your gameplay as a whole and calling it all a "mistake," which is essentially what you're doing when you look at your win rate.

Thanks for this vid. I’m gonna start playing ranked seeing the win percentage deterred me because I am very critical of myself, and leads me to thinking I’m trash or why I’m even playing. But I’ll go into this with the mindset ranked really doesn’t matter, and if my win percentage turns out to be low, when I finally get good it’ll be a great bait.
@IOTewks

low wirate bait is the most galaxy-brain take i've seen on mentality
@DaikenFGC
@DaikenFGC 2 года назад
lmao Its funny you mentioned the bait thing. Because I made this video from a conversation that happened on stream the other day. I was saying, when that player with a 10% win rate becomes godlike people will underestimate them and become extremely surprised at how well they can play.

Yeah I agree 👍. I play ranked because I get to see the combo chains for characters that the cpu won't do repeatedly. I feel like if I want to learn how to burn players, I better jump in the fire!

I'm new to fighting games. Type Lumina is my first online fighting game and I can't think of a way to improve. I can know the combos and stuff but If I get someone with just better reflex and more experience in the fighting games it is almost 99 to 1 that I'll even hit him once and I can't learn from it because I don't know what to point out from this, everything what comes to my mind is "he is just better. better reflext, knowledge, reactions.", nothing else. If I must improve everything I don't know where to start and how to train "everything" at once.

I think one important thing is sometimes when you improve you actually start losing. Sometimes things that are not supposed to work works because you're in a lower rank, which ranks you up and you get punished 24/7 for the same move against better players. Once you learnt that it don't work, stop using it. You may find out it harder to take out lower ranked players without it but stick with it. The reason why you're losing to lower rank players is because you didn't know how to defend or even punish certain common moves. Learn and practices those and you will get into higher ranks with merit eventually (instead of rage quitters. Seriously I've seen some red named A ranked players that didn't know jack about the game and always start with burst and try to hit a lucky arc drive. Needless to say once I know this, he gets punished hard and as I did a cheeky arc drive to finish him off of course he rage quitted)

Personally, it lets me know that I'm not the only one struggling. Losing is learning and I learned that nature of fighting games from 3D and 2D, etc. I got to B rank rather quickly, and lost it during a player match it seems? At that point, I just stopped worrying about the rank, and more on playing and playing and playing, until it all becomes muscle memory. Love the vid !

yes you can lose the Grade rating in player matches. Arc sys and French Bread are known for a skill based ranking system known as the "square color" this game square color is the letter grade ranking system.

My friend keeps beating my ass when we play, but whenever I get a win, it's a cause for celebration. I don't care how many losses I get, so long as I can get a win, I'm happy.

Since were getting bombarded with so many new fighting games - and since I am relatively new to the FGC - I might not have the best grasp on why I feel this way but... When playing STRIVE I get SUPER frustrated by a lot of things in the game, both during combat AND in the lobby. But MB:TL does not generate anywhere near the amount of frustration, specifically during a loss. I've been playing Strive since launch and have only really stopped playing when MB:TL released but last night I jumped from MB to the new NICK Brawl game and then I ended the night with some Strive and even tho I was playing casually and didnt care about rank I still found myself getting VERY FRUSTRATED even when I won matches in Strive. Does anyone else share this feeling - or can shed some light on when they think Strive might be more frustrating to play than other fighting games?

Definitely appreciate these videos. Right now what I truly need is that training partner that’s better than me that I can play against to learn what I can and cannot do. I think I’m pretty good at the game to be honest but there’s always ways to improve. I appreciate the recent blowout of videos man. Keeps my hopes up. Loving this game right now and all I want to do is get better.

I think having a training partner at your skill level and slightly above your skill level are both great to have! It really helps when seeing how you improve as a player and your ability to adapt to a person you fight a lot.

My problem with this game so far is that I hate just about every single character in it, and playing the same 3 characters I actually do like is already getting pretty boring. Hoping they aren’t just gonna keep the roster the way it is right now for a long time or else I don’t I’ll stick with this one.

How to improve if I can't even choose my main? I want character with setplay or just strong oki, so firstly I chose Kohaku. IMO she is very slow in general, her 2B can be shielded high, so her only low option is 2C wich is relatively slow. Her plant is also shieldable. I switched to Maids with Hisui lead. Her comboes are fun, AT oki with ambiguous left/right is cool, air236C into Kohaku's plant also cool, but her iAD moves wiffs on crouchers and her A and B normals are very short. But still I'm at C-rank with ~55% win ratio. Should I try Akiha or I better stick with Maids?
@DaikenFGC
@DaikenFGC 2 года назад
I play Maids with Hisui lead as my Main. I think Maids maybe the best character in the game for what your looking for. Hisui normals should be hitting grounded opponents if you IAD really close to the ground. They will also catch people out of the sky. The damage is very consistent and you only really need 2 combos. Everything is shieldable in the game minus grabs but Maid oki have ways to discourage shielding.

When fighterz first came out in 2018 I had a hard time at first in season 1 I was playing with alot of good players and I got my ass whooped so much I didn't let it bother me lol but I still got on every morning and day too get better and it started to progress but when season 2 came around that's when I was getting alot better.

Bro that sounds like me lol. My first fighting game was Persona 4 Arena and I lost to my 2 training partners everyday non stop. I literally never beat them that entire game duration. But when BBCP came out, I noticed how much quicker I was able to learn and improve. Eventually I became stronger than them.

@DaikenFGC
@DaikenFGC 2 года назад
if your talking about 4-1 for Ciel the timing seems to be to charge the 5C the moment the explosion (second hit of 214A) hits the opponent. from there just mash out the C auto combo and go into the B auto combo to finish the trial!
