I'm always fishing in the Ohio river and I can say for sure that the current under the water is extremally strong regardless of how calm it may look on the surface. You need to use massive weights to keep your hook from being washed away downstream if your fishing from the shore.

I fish The Mighty Ohio at least 3 times a week and i go by myself. U have to watch every step because u could easily step on a wet rock and slip rite into the river. And it could drag u in before u even had time to think. Its a magical place to fish, but u gotta respect it because it is dangerous.
You do understand Indians were at war killing each other before settlers. If it weren’t for colonizers we would still be in loin cloths and lack basic amenities that we take for granted.
