🕐 TIMELINE 🕘 [00:00] INTRO & UNBOXING [02:00] FIRST LOOK & INFOS [03:45] SET UP [09:32] RECORDING DEMO [15:30] AIR DEMO [17:40] LOOP RECORDING I used for five years the Scarlett 2i4 1st Gen for my home recordings and i was very satisfied with the results, the first difference i notice now with new 4i4 3rd Gen was the sound when i listening music sounds more high quality the other problem that solved was the latency with the 2i4 i recorded on 6ms latency now i can record on 3ms with the project full of tracks with vst's, now i can play midi drums or record guitars whithout latency problems, another nice upgrade is that the 4i4 have 4 inputs you can plug 2 instruments on the front or an amp from the back inputs and record on your DAW, the AIR feature is nice but i think works better on mics for vocals and acoustic guitar recordings. Is there any way that with this audio interface that I can hear my guitar and also the sound of my pc on my headphones ? In case I want to play along with some music on the computer.
Why if I’m using GarageBand and not reaper? Been having trouble getting my guitar to work when I connect it to my 4i4. My mic works fine but when I plug in a guitar I get no sound out of monitors nor does the colors on the knob go off, sometimes my monitors start to screech when I put the sound on my guitar

Hi Phil! open the mix and set it like i did in 06:22 make sure that you connect the speakers to the 1/2 outputs from behind, if this dont work go to the mix> line outputs and set it to Playback DAW 1/2. I'm just getting into home recording, and deciding on the audio interface - what are the two additional line inputs on the back for? Can I plug in another guitar there? Or do the guitars go into the combined jacks on the front only? I'm trying to decide between the 2i2, 4i4, or the second gen 2i4 because of the knobs for direct monitoring

Thanks!, go to your daw or music software audio device settings and select the other 3 or 4 input, then they gonna appear automatic to your track to choose them
I just bought the 4i4 because someone told me that i could connect my speakers that are 3.5 mm into the scarlett. I'm not sure if it's working because I've spent many hours trying different settings, following other videos step by step. nothing seems to work :( i get no sound but i see the bars moving on focusrite's program from my guitar and other daws. i just can't hear anything

Which you recommend to record a garage band from this series? 8i6? 18i8? 3. If you are trying to record a full band, I would expect you would need more XLRs than even the 18i8 includes. It has 4 XLRs, which might be enough for drums if you limit it...HOWEVER, if you are using an external mixing board then you could probably run the line-outs from the board to the 1/4" inputs on the 18i8. Edit: I'm assuming you are trying to record all vocals and instruments live (at once). Regardless, you would need converters or other inputs to mic up a full drum set, even for the 18i8.
Mitchell Plyler what I will recommend is for him to purchase the expand unit for the 18I8 to have an additional 8 XLRs for the drums. Is what I planning of doing in a few months after I get my 18I8 on Monday
Thanks Toni! the major difference is the 2i2 have two inputs two outputs and the 4i4 four inputs and 4 outputs, the 4i4 have connection for midi synthesizers or drum machines, loopback for podcast or lvestreaming, and pad function for mics, the 2i2 is more simple if you want to connect your guitar bass and microphone and two speakers

Hi Safidy! only if you have a good camera with audio output, if you want better sound quality the best thing its to connect a good microphone to the camera, i know it's a boring to do this, and i play multiple instruments... 😥
Καλησπερα Σταματη φιλε. Εχω το Focusrite 3rd gen solo. Πως βγαζω ηχο? Μονο το usb βαζω στο pc και δεν μπορω με τιποτα να το κανω να ακουστει. Εχω τα s350db edifier απο speakers αλλα δεν εχουν trs καλωδιο για να μπουν καρφι στο Focusrite. Ευχαριστω.
@@StamatisStabos Ναι απο τα ακουστικα ακουγονται κανονικα, απλα θελω να εχω ηχο απο τα ηχεια παραλληλα και με το pc ετσι ωστε να παιζω πανω απο backing tracks κτλ. Δυστηχως ομως τα s350db δεν εχουν τετοια εισοδο... Tα ηχεια εχουν Rca ενω το Focus εχει TRS.
Dumb question, but do I need an XLR cable to use this? Ive been seeing some people talk about it but I dont know if it's just needed for certain things or what not
Why do you recommend connecting it to a USB 3 port? I was surprised to see in the spec that it was still using a USB 2 protocol. Doesn't that mean you won't notice any difference if using it in a USB 3 port?
from my experience even with the 1 gen scarlett 2i4 when it was connected to usb3 port working better no turn offs and bugs and when i usr midi the latency was better even my alesis nitro mesh kit works better in usb3 port maybe those ports give more power to the divice
Because USB 3.0 / 3.1 give more power to the device. And also higher data transfer rate from devide to PC. It's more good if you connect it to USB-C through good quality cable.

Αναφέρομαι σε home studio για μουσική παραγωγή. Θα χρησιμοποιώ κιθάρα, μικρόφωνο και ένα akai mpk mini. Τα περισσότερα outputs βολεύουν περίσσοτερο;
Γεια σου φίλε! κάλο το στούντιο πακέτο αν το βρεις στα 200 άλλα δεν ξέρω πόσο καλής ποιότητας είναι το μικρόφωνο και τα ακουστικά μπορείς να βρεις ένα καλό μικρόφωνο MXL με λίγα λεφτα εγώ π.χ είχα πάρει το MXL R550/551R πακέτο για κιθάρα και φωνητικά, για τα outputs φτάνουν αν θες να συνδέσεις μόνο δυο ηχεία, μια χαρά την κάνεις την δουλειά σου με αυτά που έχεις, με το 2i2 ένα μείον είναι που δεν έχει pad που κόβει μερικά ντεσιμπέλ αν είναι δυνατός ο ήχος από κιθάρα η φωνητικά άλλα μπορείς και χωρίς αυτό.

Before you buy: Be aware of the fact that in the 4i4 there is no hardware or software preamp (line 3+4) for anything you plug into the back of the 4i4. Drove me nuts.
