A nice piece of equipment Dev. You’re right, when you lead a busy life the Master tronic is such a time saver & it’s great that you can test all the necessary parameters at the same time.
I picked up the hydros 4 not long ago and absolutely love it... Focustronic and autoaqua are totally on board with seem less pairing between them...can't wait for the master to become available. 😎👍
Great Video…Been waiting for the Mastertronic to become available. Curious…if you could only pick one (ALKATRONIC or MASTERTRONIC) which would you pick? Pros and cons for each?
My only concern is frequency of maintenance on the needles/probes and longevity of such an expensive piece of equipment. Does it have a warranty? I'm guessing if it does, it's only 30 days..lol
Hello thanks for your videos, a question if I have not bought the alkatronic, better to buy only the mastertronic because he measures my kh, I am correct thanks
Testing is a pain, but if u have a dog or cat don’t you feed them or is that automatically done, automation is good when it works, not sold on any of it, on ur parameters, every tank is different, I remember receiving my ICP test and my nitrates were 50, phosphate was .1, I thought it was crazy then I did another two months later and it was 35 ppm, and both times my tank was looking great with colonies that wouldn’t fit in a five gallon bucket, try seachem phosguard, no tumbling, and slow removal of phosphates, can use allot to last a long time, regular gfo removes too fast, needs to be tumbled and has to be rinsed! My opinion
Maybe I’ll give it a whirl. I have them down to .1 now. Slowly with gfo I jsit tweak reactor flow to slow it. Haha I still feed my dog manually. But that’s 30 seconds. Testing the tank is a good 30 min venture lol
Hey Devin! Any chance you could give some input on “if I could only have one”? I am trying to decide between purchasing Apex & Trident vs. Alkatronic/Mastertronic with dosetronic. Just wanting to keep a stable 75G reef in the best way possible.
I wish focustronic made the alkatronic with calcium test and dosser in one , forking out for the Mastertronic is too steep for me. But it’s amazing none the less
So Devon, if you had none of the equipment you had now, would you get both the Mastertronic and the Alkatronic or would you settle with just the Mastertronic? I’ve got the KH Director by GHL and can’t decide on wether I should change to this or wait for the ION Director which is due any day now. If I understand it correctly the GHL ION Director doesn’t need to be topped up with all he test kits all the time which sounds like a huge benefit of course. Any thoughts Dev? @reefdudes
Alkatronic is another beast within itself. There is a reason its a stand alone product as alk swings are not liked much by corals, so keeping an eye through the day and night is a game changer. Plus you buy the regent for cheap on amazon the tests will come down to pennies. Mastertronic welp he said all is need to be said great products compared to the other auto testers this is the best atm.
I use the Apex Trident which is good for access but terrible at being consistent. Keep up the progress reporting. I have only had the Trident for 3 month but thinking of throwing it out.
do you think its worth the money ?? or should i save more for an apex and neptune, i really dont enjoy the idea of it just monitoring and not making any corrections. since i travel a lot i think that would just make me suffer long distance xD
Worth it is such a personal question and is different for everyone. If you have a tank full of zoas prob not. If you have a tank full of thousands in high end sps probably! If your feeling really high rolling you can get the doseteonic as well which will dose abs teak it’s dosing based on the Mastertronic result! I would 100% get a heater controller. As for the a tank controller that ones your call. I wouldn’t say it’s required but it’s nice to have :)
@@ReefDudes if you can get something from the same brand to autocrrect for what it tests i think is a very viable option for me, i just didnt like the idea of getting constant tests results and not having the abilty to do anything about it remotely. thanks for taking the time to answer !!
@@ReefDudes I'm confused. Hopefully it get solved once I got my MT. But the watching these, video... many people are not specific about Test Kit type at all. And I've wonder, what if the test kit have Power like Sera NO3 Test, have a bit of iron power and Salifert PO4, Mg, Ca... all have Powder it in. Are we supposed to use only Test that are totally in Liquid Forms only?
The reefbot to me looks like a re-purposed computer tower. The MT looks like its a purpose built unit. Once more become available I'll look into getting one.
Im just ordered mine for the new PENINSULA 7225 coming to me :p. Can you please fill me in on some safe parameters for each chemical please. I’m probably gonna fill it up with mixed corals, most of them sponges and euphyllias and torches.
@@ReefDudes appreciate that, just wanted to know if you can change it in settings to show ppm. If not, then maybe a software update in the future... Thanks
@@ReefDudes - You should do a video on that! Get one of those body cavity cameras in there and show the layout...I'm sure it'll give everyone ideas on how to make better use of available cabinet space!..lol
