This is amazing. The SmokeGENIE really seems to be something that can replace foggers in small indoor spaces. How is the genie’s battery life?

1:39 "boiling time" ..is not accurate at all. no fog machine boils the fog liquid. fog machine like this, that uses water-based fog uses a heating block. by forcing the liquid through a narrow pipe that coils around the heating block atomises the liquid into gas. the gas is then forced through the outer nozzle (also narrow) and when contacting the outside environment interacts with the air to create a plume of fog. if you wanted something that created instantaneous fog / Haze, a better comparison would have been an oil-based hazer which requires no heating block and creates haze as soon as you turn it on..those use ultrasonic exciters (like many humidifiers). still would have been an impressive comparison with this device tho..cuz the small size allows much more versatility than lugging around a full blown hazer around a subject..plus they're loud and don't give the user much control over the density. I'm guessing this device uses fluid similar to that from an e-cig.. might also use the same kind of atomizer..?

Hey thanks! This is Micky; You are right about fog machines using heating blocks; by “boiling time”, I was supposed to mean the initial time it takes for the heating block to reach the operational temperature that can instantly “boil” the fog liquid into gas state. This waiting time is very common when operating fog machines for the first time. But yes, the way I explained it seems to imply the liquid inside is boiling slowly, which as you rightly identified is not the case here. Apologies for that, I appreciated the correction, cheers! I’ll pin the comment for others to see. Also, the reason we did not use oil based machines, is because most indoor venues won’t allow them for filmmaking, as it leaves very difficult to clean residue. Most filmmakers in Hong Kong avoid oil based machines, that’s why we did this test with a water based machine to represent a more common choice. Hope this helps! Micky

@@pmi_gear thanks Mickey. you are right about oil-based haze/fog for sure. We have the same issues with using them in the live events/entertainment industry. They leave a oily residue on sound equipment, speakers, furniture and lighting fixtures. not only does the oily film get on the lenses of expensive fixtures like moving heads, but the fan intakes (designed to dissipate the heat from the lamps/leds) end up coating the internals with the same residue. it's a nightmare for permanent installations! Your product brilliantly leverages existing technology in a novel way to meet the needs of a previously overlooked & underserved industry. Very clever! I wish you guys all the best 👍
