I think your first tip is the best, pre plan and stick to it. I now find I’m scanning various locations on the Clear Outside app for signs of fog, once found, I then plan a location in that area. But frustratingly when checking again in the morning Clear Outside more often reports no mist and your plans are in tatters 😀

I know exactly what you mean Julian 👌..also those days when no fog is forecast but you wake to a blanket 🤯😌 I've started to follow location first now (I make a decision), and weather comes second.. I stick a stake in the ground & just monitor the weather - I do look for a fog forecast but I'm finding dew point, temp & humidity are more helpful indicators 👌 We're like storm chasers 😉 & no matter what we do, its always so unpredictable isn't it 😊🙏 Choosing the venue I do give a little thought to how I might shoot if the fog drifts off or sun breaks etc. just to salvage the shoot 👌

@@StevePikePhoto Ahh yes the days when you wake when no fog was forecast but it's everywhere, mad scramble ensues. I was just reading about dew point, temp and humidity funnily enough. I'm looking out for this now. I've also got the new gear curse now, bought a Sony 24-105 G lens on Cyber Monday, and ever since the conditions have been shocking.

@@julianheritage6436 I've not got a good grip on the ideal conditions but if the RHumidity is 100% & dew point is at the temp it gets me excited. I think there needs to be a significant dip in temp (10o or more) too but haven't fully worked it out yet 😉 science huh? 😊 Oh the 24-105 is on my list, it will be my next glass I think.. I picked the 28mm f2 with the 0.75 ultra wide converter (making it stretch to 21mm) so I'm keen to test it out - same here though... very short grey days ahhhh 😊

Ahh that's very kind, thank you 🤗💚 I'm going to work hard next year at reducing video sizes. Also have a music video project planned out too.. take a few months but it's in the pipeline 😉🤗💚

Isn't fog just divine - an awesome atmosphere that I find difficult sometimes to capture in the right way without it looking flat. Useful tips ... thank you. That footage! ❤❤❤ About 14 mins 27 seconds ish, you've caught a spiders web between the trees with leaves suspended in mid air from it. Just awesome - great music, great mood. x

It really highlights the trees character doesn't it? Simplifying the scene 👌🏻 Your not alone my friend, I also find shooting in fog challenging. Getting closer helps obviously, reducing the distance between us & our subject, but even then it can be an exposure challenge 🙃 We don't usually get much fog here (this year has been exceptional), so I just try to practice with it every chance there is 👍🏻 Over 200 species of spider in Sherwood 😬 and when your the first one to walk through before dawn, you become he official 'cobweb catcher'... gets real busy some days 😉 Very pleased you like the video, thanks so much for the kind words Amanda 🌳💚🙏🏻🕷🕸

My friend, thanks for the tips. Got a mavic mini for my birthday in November this year and I’m in the north east of England so foggy days are a real possibility. Boyo

Hey my real pleasure 👍🏻 have lots more drone stuff coming too (if I can keep it out the trees) 😉 Just a little word of caution in fog.. I've flown in the 'good stuff' a few times but the drone comes back wet through and their not waterproof.. 😬 I keep my time in the air short, bring it back for a wipe down then repeat (the arms get soaked due to the props sucking all the condensation downwards, creating the lift). Great little eye drone isn't it? 👌🏻
